The Pour of Wrath
TASTING NOTES:
115/667 - “The 2020 Pinot Noir 115/667 has a distinctive spicy character that energizes the dark cherry and mineral tones in this bottling. Grapes are hand-picked and hand sorted. Clones are kept in separate lots during fermentation and barrel aging. 20% of the lots go through whole cluster fermentation to add complexity and balance acidity.” (AbV 14.5%)
4/777 - “Wrath’s blend of clones 777 and Pommard 4 has always showcased the dark, earthy side of our estate pinot fruit and the 2020 vintage is no exception. The nose shows off dark fruit and earthy forest floor. A rich, seamless and dark intensity defines the palate, while the whole cluster fermentation (20%) leads to a long and structured finish.“ (AbV 14.5%)
Swan/828 - “This clone blend combines dark cherry, raspberries and the scent of earthiness on the nose. The palate offers a balance of structure and acidity that at compliments elegant, focused red berry and cherry cola with a hint of forest floor. Nimble and pure, it terminates with a long and clean finish enhanced with a touch of mineral.“ (AbV 14.3%)

TANGENTIALLY RELATED FACT to help you make conversation over this wine:
The fallen Ainur, or holy spirit, known as Morgoth had been a blight upon Middle-Earth since the beginning. He did a lot of things that pissed just about everyone else off. With Morgoth in control of most of Middle-Earth, an elf named Eärendil sailed across the endless ocean to the undying lands of Valinor, where the Valar, Morgoth’s un-fallen Ainur brethren, still resided. Eärendil convinced them to take pity on the Elves and Men who were suffering under Morgoth’s boot, and they would send forces to bolster them in what would be known as the War of Wrath. Elves, Men, Dwarves, and all manner of beings fought forty years against the mighty host of Morgoth across the northern lands, sinking much of it in the process. Morgoth’s Balrogs, or commanders, were nearly wiped out. Morgoth sent in dragons as a last resort, but they were nearly all killed as well. Finally they cornered him in his deepest mine and captured him for trial. He would shortly after be beheaded and tossed into the timeless Void.
