A flagship of our Estate. Ultra black, rich, and unbelievably smooth. Ripe blueberries, black plums, and blackberries with crushed vanilla and hints of sweet tobacco, smoked meats, and cocoa bean linger on this smooth. A long-term, very age-worthy, elegant wine.
Winemaking
We continued to age this wine for an additional 6 months in the barrel, which created an unbelievable complex blend that is elegant and refined. Wonderfully complex wine, blackberry and blueberry, with a hint of perfume, orange zest, and tarragon. Wonderful hints of black currant and plum along with licorice and cardamom linger on the finish.
Vintage
The 2019 growing season was a relatively gentle and steady growing season, our grapes were later season harvests which in combination with the mild late summer weather allowed for longer hang time for the grapes on the vine. Longer hang time, under these current near-perfect conditions, allows grapes to evenly develop rich color and more complex flavors.
