“This well-structured but sleek Bordeaux blend from the central coast is brimming with sour cherry and blackberry aromas. The gentle tannins are already well integrated and this has a very food-friendly balance.” JamesSuckling.com
Aromas of cherry cola, boysenberry, chocolate dipped blueberry. On the palate, well balanced, medium bodied with well integrated tannins. Notes of blackberry, boysenberry, & mocha. Medium length finish with a lingering of mocha, graphite and candied cherry.
An easy drinking Bordeaux style blend, this wine pairs well with most cuisines or can be enjoyed on its own. We hope you’ll enjoy it with family and friends.

As a young boy, Ron Donati grew up in South San Francisco, the son of a first generation Italian-American family. One of his fondest memories was the sights and smells of his grandfather making wine in his basement. Like most Italian immigrants, Albino Donati made his own wine for the family dinner table. As an adult, Ron became a successful entrepreneur with a penchant for making quality products that were attainable to all, not just a select few. This same passion serves as the foundation and guiding mission of Donati Family Vineyard today. It is our goal to produce wines of exceptional quality regardless of budget.

@canonizer It was just up a few months ago. It’s pretty good stuff. I got two in a share, should have taken more. Just opened the second bottle this evening.
How much more are you saving by buying a full case?
(Note: Tax & Shipping not included in savings calculations)
2016 Donati Family Vineyard Claret - $10 = 8.33%
I bought 6 of these in August. Wish I’d got a case. Got four left after just opening one. The rats in August were pretty spot on. I would say it’s light to medium bodied, quite dry, but with lots of flavor. Very drinkable. I’m totally overstocked now, and trying to convince some neighbors to do a split. This is a steal at this price.
NYC folks, I split a six of this last time and really liked it, so I just ordered a case now. That said, I don’t mind parting with a few bottles so if anyone wants a small number, feel free to get in touch.
I’m new to casemates, and placed my first order for the spellbound a few days ago. Looking at 6 here. Any idea roughly how long it will take to receive a case?
@irenegade@MuchoRojo Also bear in mind that those are conservative estimates, and offers leave the WCC warehouse between a couple days and a couple weeks after the offer. The estimates you see assume closer to a couple weeks.
(Nothing to do with you.) I hope you enjoy your free shipping for the paltry 4.99 a month, which you can cancel anytime, and come back. So, the entire “shipping per bottle” is useless if 4.99 gets you free shipping, which you can cancel.
Site tools? Kickstarter love? Just rub sand into my eyes.
@MuchoRojo where you live doesn’t make much of a difference (unless you’re in CA). Generally bottles get shipped a week or max two after sale ends, and take generally around 2 to 5 days to be delivered (unless it’s Summer: in that case it is a 2 days delivery guaranteed).
Welcome to Casemates! Yes, the monthly membership fee (5$) is totally worth (it does also give free shipping on meh.com; morningsave.com; etc)
I opened a bottle of this tonight with supper (I got a 6-pack during the previous offering). It’s a really nice red blend. Where else are you going to find a nice red blend aged 23 months for $10 (or less)??? My wife is not a huge red wine drinker, but she really liked this, which means it indeed does have “well integrated tannins” because she wouldn’t like it if it didn’t! In for another 6!

Dang, haven’t had one of their wines in many years. Looking forward to rats

@canonizer Here are the comments from August.
@InFrom apparently moot since it doesn’t ship to vt! Thanks for the link though
@canonizer Or NY? That’s odd.
@canonizer
I’m most of the way up Lake George (in NY, now available). Anywhere close?
@canonizer @greeneggsanham Or all the way down, near the MA border?
Remedied by recent oversight with a sixer.

Nova or MD splits interest?
Available states on homepage includes more states than on comment pages. Assume the more restrictive list is correct? Pls confirm.
@fcherena good catch, this is fun! Can you tell me which state is missing from the thread?!
@fcherena took me a bit…it’s NY
@kitkat34 haha. Sorry…didn’t want to be New York centric! But yes you are correct! And ny’ers still can’t get in on this?
As NYer, I was able to order the last batch of this (which I enjoyed), but it wasn’t allowing me this time. Hoping it’s an error that gets corrected.
@RITBeast NY is good to go now. Apologies for the misprint.
Agree. NY isn’t listed in the available states…really?
@albany14us @RITBeast @INFrom NY is a go! pardon the misprint!
@albany14us @RITBeast @Winedavid49 Great! Thanks.
Is VT still SOL?
Holiday special coupon code didn’t work, but I’m still in for six. Might help keep me away from some of the other reds I’m trying to cellar!

@winedavid49 NY no longer a ship-to state for Donati?
@InFrom Checking. that can’t be right.
NY is a go
Here’s the previous offer in case anyone wants to see rat reports. I don’t think there was time to send out bottles for this offer.
@KNmeh7 do you remember if you liked this one? Twich provided the link from last offer. I didn’t buy but interested now.

@longtones Want to do a split?
Those who’ve had this previously pursuaded me. Southwest Michigan people, I’m willing to share!

And…that was an interesting choice, giphy…

Any MA buyers up for a split south of the border?

@MuchoRojo There is usually an estimated delivery date in the description above.
“Estimated Delivery

@KNmeh7 what are you talking about?
I guess I should include that I live in the Midwest.

@MuchoRojo I just opened a bottle of this tonight from the previous offering. It’s a really nice red blend…hope you enjoy!!
@TimW thank you so much I picked up 6, just starting my cellar. This is a wonderful find!
@MuchoRojo a nice red blend aged 23 months in oak before bottling…I think this is a steal at this price. I’m buying another 6-pack I think.
In for a six pack as overstocked!

Why not?

Can I be a rat guys? Who should I email for offering my mouth to science?
@salpo
@wccwinegirl
@rjquillin @WCCWineGirl thanks @rjquillin!
@wccwinegirl can a newbie be a lab rat?
