Charles Ivory and J.M. Burt were two of Lodi’s earliest settlers - starting the first store next to the railroad station on Pine and Sacramento Streets. The Ivory Store brought together a myriad of unique folks who created this special place - homesteaders, farmers and even winemakers.
Lodi
Settled in 1859 and officially incorporated in 1906, Lodi’s first citizens flocked to the area because of the railroad but stayed for agriculture opportunities. From wheat to watermelons, Lodi’s original crops took advantage of the same climate and soil that makes it a prime location for growing high-quality wine grapes today. The fertile soils are rich in minerals but well-drained and the classic Mediterranean climate with warm afternoons and cool evenings allows winegrapes to develop ripe fruit flavors. Fruit-forward wines with a nice acid balance characterize the quintessential style in which Lodi is known.

96 Points & Double Gold, 2022 New York International Wine Competition
Tasting Notes
Concentrated aromas and flavors of rich cherry and lush blackberry are dominant throughout and come together with oak spice from new American oak aging. These prominent juicy fruit notes with the presence of oak make an enticing wine that is hard to set down.

2020 Ivory & Burt Cabernet Sauvignon, Lodi
Tasting Notes
Our 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon immediately brings you in with notes of ripe black cherry. On the palate, the first sip transforms the aroma to vibrant red cherry with notes of rich chocolate. Complemented with a touch of oak spice, this wine is balanced and bold from start to finish.
We are generational farmers. Our priority has always been to connect you to the land through wine. For five generations our family has been growing sustainable wine grapes in the Lodi Appellation and in 2006 we opened a winery to showcase our passion for growing wine grapes – because great wine starts in the vineyard. Building on our successes as a farm family, the winery was our first step into crafting wines.
As generational farmers, we know that great wine starts in the vineyard. This philosophy, our focus on sustainability, and our experience with our vineyards guide our viticulture decisions within the Lodi and Clarksburg Appellations. With every vintage being unique, we know that dedicating attention to each block delivers the best wine grapes each year. And with each family member dedicated to our winery and vineyards, our love for the farm and family lies in each bottle of wine.
Today, we use our distinct advantage of having control over the entire winemaking process - creating wines from our estate vineyards to the final packaged wine using our new, state-of-the-art bottling line. This enables a continuous line of quality from vine to wine.

@DanFielding@Mark_L I usually buy most of the $99/case offers I see and while everyone’s tastes are different we really enjoyed the last offering of cab. I am very excited to try their Zin since that is our favorite wine in general.
I bought the Cab the last time it was offered. It did not disappoint. Good daily drinker and I’d stock up if I didn’t have about half that case left.
Having said that, I would love to see an only Zin offering of this. Or, if anyone in the ATL wants to split a case and take all the Cab, I’d be interested.
I got the cab two times back I think and the entire case was not drinkable. Tasted like pine/bell pepper. Not sure what happened but could not even cook with it.

@lionel47 Interested in a split. Will send you a note.

@finewiner Though I like both of these, I prefer the Zin. I get a little wet dog on the Cab, but not the pine/bell pepper.
@finewiner … and, if I remember correctly, I might have put a bunch of the Cab in a beef stew which was fantastic, but maybe it was a Costco Siglo.
I bought a case of both the Zin and The Cab, and am VERY pleased with this wine. Great QPR!
I bought the last offering of this and we love it as a daily drinker. Can’t beat this price!

drinking the Cab right now - finished a bottle of the Zin last night. I guess that’s what it means to be a daily drinker …
