The 2023 Rosato is made from Primitivo grapes sourced from Amador County in the foothills of California. The color is a beautiful rose petal pink, with bright, fresh fruity aromas of Rainier cherries and strawberries, with a lovely floral note of roses adding complexity. Bright, mouthwatering acidity is enticing with clean flavors to match the aromatics. The vibrant flavor lingers in a memorable, mouthwatering finish that will bring you back for more. Very well balanced and perfect for spring & year-round sipping!
Our unusual rosé of Primitivo is a fun-to-drink, easy-to-love blush wine that’s loaded with fresh flavor and a beautiful bright color. A balanced, crisp, medium-weight rosé equally suited to pairing with food or sipping on its own. We especially love it with sushi, shrimp dumplings, poke bowls, or colorful vegetable salads with citrus dressing. We hope you enjoy the latest edition of La Sirena Rosato - the “pink mermaid”.
Why “La Sirena”? The name means “the Mermaid” in Spanish and Italian. I chose it because I’m a lifelong ocean lover and longtime scuba diver, and wanted a winery name that was fun & magical (like wine) and also personal to me. The first vintage of La Sirena was in 1994, with the first Cabernet Sauvignon made in 1996. Our current wine lineup: Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Moscato Azul (dry Muscat Canelli), Rosato (rosé of Primitivo), Malbec, and our two fun and tasty proprietary winemaker red blends, Studio Series and Pirate TreasuRed. Production is always small, focusing on fine wines of purity and excellence. Wishing you all the best!

Lab Rat Report for 2023 vintage La Sirena Rosato (rosé)
This wine comes in a clear bottle with a foil-sealed natural cork and is 12.8% ABV.
There’s an interesting bit of text on the back connecting the mythical creature of the wine’s namesake to the winemaking process and the vintner’s love of the sea.
Per the winemaker’s website the wine is made from Primitivo grapes, which I understand to be another name for Zinfandel.
The wine has a rich and vibrant red blush in both the bottle and the glass, though it doesn’t have much in the way of legs when I swirl it around.
On the nose is distinct apple and cherry.
The initial taste is cranberry and strawberry, and has a wonderful sweet quality even though it is probably technically dry if you measure it. It is quite crisp and enjoyable to sip, with the strawberry coming more forward as my palate gets used to it.
This wine seems to be at a good point to drink now, and probably will still be good with another couple of years in the cellar, though as a rosé I probably wouldn’t recommend going much more than that.
At the price offered here it’s a very good value for a rosé.
Heidi Peterson Barrett and La Sirena in the house… interesting. @Mark_L was recently sipping on a different vintage and I asked him how it was because I was thinking of pulling the trigger on this at $23
How much more are you saving by buying a full case?
(Note: tax and shipping are not included in savings calculations.)
2023 La Sirena Rosato - $39 = 22.41%
Screaming Eagle winemaker is some pedigree though I can assure all of you that I’ve never had (or will) the opportunity to taste.
Regarding this offer: wondering if there’s any RS or if it’s bone dry. $11/bottle by a revered winemaker using Amador fruit is quite enticing
La Sirena Rosato ROCKS! If you like rose, this is a no brainer. (It’s not sweet.). I just purchased 2 cases… bring on Spring & Summer! I rarely see this wine for less than $28/ bottle, and shipping is a lot more than $1 per bottle. Do not sleep on this!
@kaolis Hi - Nope. I like all varieties of wine, and have purchased this a few times over the last several years. Sometimes at full price; always when it’s a great deal. Cheers, L

No, I think it’s that the hover shows that she did the membership thing this month - unsurprisingly when buying an offer! She’s a long time community member!
@kaolis I have had a couple of her wines and they were excellent! including this one which I only bought because of the artwork from Rodrique that she used on the label some of you southern boys might know him from his blue dog paintings?
Had a bottle of the 2017 a few years ago and remember it being very enjoyable on its own by the pool. Anyone in LA want to split a case? Would be interested in 4-6

We’re out of room, but this sounds intriguing. A case of ‘lady petrol’!

@losthighwayz If you’re considering pulling the trigger and want to mitigate the RS risk, I would take 2 or 3
. The rat did say technically dry.
@losthighwayz downthread, kaolis says this is bone dry.
@davirom perfect. 9 for me and 3 for you order in

Has summer shipping started ?

@kaolis He says on the second day of spring!
@kaolis @klezman
where was that posted?
@klezman Hey I could have asked for summer hold but if I’m a buyer I want to drink it this summer! Ha!
This is the perfect example of why many of us want to know residual sugar before buying.

@LorriCA Any association with the winery?

@LorriCA Just curious since you just joined, no harm intended…Cheers!
@kaolis @LorriCA she and I have a prior exchange still to sort out, and now this one, so I sure hope she’s real.
@LorriCA Well full price is only $28…just sayin’…what other “great deals” did you get?
@kaolis @LorriCA
No, I think it’s that the hover shows that she did the membership thing this month - unsurprisingly when buying an offer! She’s a long time community member!

I also just rejoined for this offer.

@kaolis As a St Louis Cardinal fan this is perfect…oh, this is bone dry by the way, per the producer
@kaolis I have had a couple of her wines and they were excellent! including this one which I only bought because of the artwork from Rodrique that she used on the label
some of you southern boys might know him from his blue dog paintings?

@ScottW58 I’ve had that one! Very much enjoyed it
@kaolis another worthless observation… the offer specs above say 13.4abv but rat bottle as noted 12.8… who cares right? ha!
@kaolis @ScottW58 Scott’s stamp of approval? I’m in!
@losthighwayz @ScottW58 Perhaps this is just a gateway drug… the cabs are in the pipeline?
@kaolis @losthighwayz
Oh God too much pressure! Hope you loved them.
@kaolis Not quite the Bartman fiasco…
I hope the rat and other positive commenters are correct on this one because I just ordered 2 cases based on them!
