Deep, complex aromatics are accented by fresh blackberry and raspberry preserves. Barrel aging lends subtle smoky notes and hints of baking spices to the flavor. The mouthfeel is rich and concentrated. Pairs great with pizza.
Omen is dedicated to the movement of Craft. Finding some of the best-hidden gem wine appellations throughout the West Coast. Omen wines are meant to be bold and with a lot of personalities.
Vineyards
65% Russian River Valley AVA, Sonoma County – Riverfront Vineyard
The Riverfront vineyard, with its dramatic temperature changes from warm days to cool, foggy nights, creates concentrated and complex flavors in the grapes.
25% Sonoma Coast AVA, Sonoma County – Walala Vineyard – Estate Grown
Walala comes from the Kashaya Pomo Indian saying, “where the water flows down,” a reference to the local Gualala River and the nearby town of Gualala. Perched on a ridge along the California coast, a few miles from the Pacific Ocean, the vineyard resides in what is often referred to as the “true” Sonoma Coast AVA
10% Petaluma Gap AVA, Sonoma County – Morelli Vineyard – Estate Grown
Defined by its unique wind and fog conditions and their effect on the vines, the Petaluma Gap was designated on December 7, 2017, as an American Viticultural Area (AVA), producing premium grapes that make it one of California’s best areas for growing Pinot Noir. Just 25 miles north of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, it’s also the premier gateway to the Sonoma Coast and northern Marin County wine region.

Wannabe Lab Rat here. Unfortunately our bottle was delayed and delivery was rescheduled for today, of course during the timeframe I was out of the house for an appointment. So, I finally broke down and paid the $20 to sign up with UPS My Choice to allow me to redirect shipments to a local store for pickup. Welp, the wine was NOT redirected, the driver tried to deliver to my home while I was out, and now it’s due to be delivered on Monday.
Definitely a bummer as my SO and love Pinot Noir, but we are not too familiar with Napa PN. It would have been interesting to taste next to some Sonoma or Oregon PNs. Hopefully there’s another rat out there! Sorry Alice and gang, I tried my best but my best wasn’t good enough this time around
@knlprez where did I read Napa in that description?! I guess I quickly scanned the winery location and went with it? Either way… it would have been fun to drink next to some other Sonoma PNs…
@kitkat34@knlprez I am really tired of them telling me it will not arrive until 4-7 pm and having them show up at 10:30am with no one home who can sign for it!
@kitkat34@knlprez I broke down awhile ago and did the $20 full UPS My choice thing too. So far so good. Kind of funny we toss crazy money at wine and balk at the My Choice premium cost. I guess because FedEx is free…
@kaolis@kitkat34@knlprez I mean, we all kvetch when something that was free (or that others provide free) turns into a cost. See: checking a bag on an airplane and choosing your seat.
Another frustrated Rat checking in. Got Alice’s email early in the week, but tracking never showed launch until late Thursday. No delivery date then. Finally a date popped in tracking: Friday between 10 and 3. I’m WFH 3 days a week and Friday is not one of them. By the time it was finally redelivered (first notice said they’d try to deliver Monday) on Saturday, we had a crazy full day with 4 hours of driving to and from Quantico for a 5 hour adventure ride on MTBs, then prep for a kid campus visit.
Sorry to have let you all down!
DW liked this wine a lot, more than most we buy, just a touch sweeter than my taste, but enjoyable, drinkable, a good deal, and a worthy offering.

@knlprez and it cost you $20…good luck with future pkgs. Still not liking UPS
@kitkat34 we’ll see how it goes… I’m trying to stay optimistic!

Useless info but I have to do something while putting off washing the deck…
The 40 under 40 mention in Wine Enthusiast, which has nothing to do with the wine…
https://www.winemag.com/content/40-under-40-2021-alexandre-remy/
For you case production people looks like around 3800 cases…
fwiw
The info on their website makes me want to buy this. Hoping for a rat or two!
How much more are you saving by buying a full case?

Back label…
RS 0.065 G/100ML from the producer…
@kaolis Ugh…the label reminding me how many calories are in wine! Dislike!
@kaolis @klezman oh jeez I never checked
Let’s see I can have 3 glasses or a cheeseburger…how about BOTH
@kaolis @klezman @kitkat34 Um, wine calories don’t count…
Was 2020 a fire year for the valley?

Coravin’d a bottle. Pretty rough stuff. Will attempt to decent for a few days - see if that releases the battery acid.
