Thank you. I totally missed that, in my varied attempts to get it ordered successfully. I just checked the sale page and it does indeed state it’ll ship in Oct.

But cool weather has already come. so I want my semi-sorta-partially-mystery port coming now. I don’t want to wait any longer.

Not that I really need it by a specific date, or 'cause I’m travelling, or anything. I just totally turn into a guy once I buy something, and want it in my house already (and before y’alles slam on me, a guy is who told me that, when I said the difference between men and women is women shop, men buy, and he said actually men are worse than that, men resent that what they want isn’t in the house when they decide they want it.)

@jmdavidson1 @klezman @Winedavid59 I have a Garagiste wine shipment that’s set to ship to WNY on 10/3. 2nd one hasn’t been packed yet fwiw. That’s fine with me, nights in the 40-50’s days in the low 70’s here.

@catcoland does garagiste email to let you know shipment being prepared etc? First season ordering with them and its a total mystery how shipping actually works.

@Ten9Eight Yes they actually authorize the shipping charge and give you at least a week notice of the proposed ship date to make changes. It’s worked ok for me so far.

It’s a small facility, and they are good to me, except when something like this occurs.

Whenever you are unsure, I’ve found it best to ship-to a UPS facility so they can hold for a week; or to someone trusted. I think you can re-route with the UPS app.

It is frustrating to not have a tracking number.
I’m getting heading notifications from somewhere in my gmail. They have no tracking info either, just something is on the way.
It’s an issue when multiple parcels unexpectedly appear.

Summer Shipping rollout is welcome, but is a bit glitchy.

I would be willing to bet that UPS still makes the final delivery but you won’t be notified until the day before, so just have to keep a vigilant eye out for that tracking notice.

@chipgreen Hope you’re right. I still think that they should have waited until November 1. Those in Florida, Texas, etc. probably would have likef a later shipping date.

I had 1 hold each from UC and CM. Looks like straight UPS Ground to OH from UC. My package left Petaluma yesterday and expected delivery is the 21st.

The Casemates order still shows as Processing.

@ellen3kay @rjquillin Don’t they call you when they get your HAL? I know at Purple, we not only called when we received the HAL, we called five biz days later to warn you it was going back the next day. And notated every call on the HAL sticker.

And yet, some folks would come in a week after all that, all miffed that their package wasn’t there anymore. 'Cause yeah, we had infinite space to just keep their parc for however long it took for them to stop by. I get being out of town, but all those folks had to do was call and let us know, and call 1-800 and request an extension. It was the ones who’d whinge, “Well, I never got over this way to get it.” Uh, you requested our location so assumedly it’s convenient for you, and you knew you had a week to get over this way, and you knew the day before that it was going bye-bye, so–

@Mark_L Crazy - I got UPS (and Casemates) notification of another (non-summer-hold) shipment, and when I went into UPS MyChoice the summer hold shipment that I saw previously is now nowhere to be found.

@klezman I got a UPS notice that my WCC package was being delivered today. I was not at home. So, back to the warehouse. Yet, my CM orders shows “processing.” How ridiculous!

@hscottk I am in PA and have no movement showing. I am always stressed out with these signature needed orders… I have chronic fatigue and fear I am going to miss UPS. I leave a msg on my door the night before and am on the lookout for the van. Without notice I am sure to miss it.

I hope this notification thing gets resolved ASAP!

We expect most orders to be packaged on 10/13/25 and delivered around 10/20 - 10/21. We’re using a slightly different shipping method here, so you won’t see updates until the package gets to your local hub.

The important bit there is that tracking won’t update until it’s at your local hub, which should happen on Mon/Tues.

Thanks for the updates, Thumper . For me, it was confusing that my order showed Processing. I translated that email to mean once it went to shipping, we wouldn’t know anything more until getting a notice from the local hub.

My advice here is to first get that change in place. Personally, I’m ok just knowing that yes, it’s now shipped out. And I think it’s been well-established that I’m the impatient one, ha.

Off to text my friend to for-sure start listening for the doorbell!

@hscottk I got regular notifications on UPS app. One shipped past Friday, arriving Thursday. Another shipped today, arrives Friday. Shipping to Iowa.

@jmdavidson1 I’m sorry that we dropped the ball on getting tracking to you all.

We had a high volume of Summer Hold orders (which was pretty exciting to see), and our (smaller than you might think) shipping team successfully shipped them out on time. ETA: There are 81 orders that are going out today.

The breakdown was with getting those shipments’ tracking numbers to you.

We’ve learned a lot from this experiment and are likely going to offer Summer Hold again next year, but with improvements based on this year’s successes and not-so-great logistical breakdowns.

We’re reading these comments and taking them to heart. Please keep giving us feedback on how this did or didn’t work for you.

@jmdavidson1 @Thumperchick Hi! Three suggestions for next year following on the problem that this year the delivery date was not definite. My situation:

I bought a case in the middle of the summer, then made plans for the week in October it was scheduled to be delivered during (Oct 6). I emailed asking if the delivery could be delayed and the answer was “no,” and then I asked if I could cancel the order and the answer was “maybe” then a few weeks later “yes.”

Fast forward to today and I get a UPS notification that the wine was apparently delivered yesterday! But I cancelled the order! (but hadn’t received the refund yet…) And most importantly I didn’t receive any wine… I think UPS gave it to someone at the wrong address and that person decided to keep it (they even signed for it…). And annoyingly if I had known it was actually going to be delivered this week, not Oct 6 I wouldn’t have tried to cancel it at all! And I would have redirected to a UPS store so I could just go pick it up. All in all a frustrating experience.

Suggestions:

1. Allow shipments directly to UPS access points so we don’t have to be home to sign for packages
2. Give a time-definite week estimate for when the summer holds will be going out, and stick to it
3. Allow us to delay the summer hold packages if necessary.

@jmdavidson1 @Thumperchick @user48745965 I think your numbers 2 and 3 are mutually incompatible. I think #3 is more useful for more people. Similar to how some of the wine clubs and other outlets do it, you could be permitted to select one of several shipping dates and then stick to it (or change up until a set time). That would help ensure people’s travel doesn’t mess up delivery of bottles.

I meant if they are going to give a date for when something will go out, stick to it – whether the date comes from the original order or from a later requested date. Otherwise the whole enterprise of choosing a date is useless. This would avoid the situation from this year of “Estimate Delivery: week of Oct 6” but everyone is receiving their orders the week of Oct 22.
