The Entrepreneurial Spirit of a California Wine Pioneer
In 1881 Madrone Vineyards owner, George Whitman granted a portion of his vineyard land to the Sonoma-Santa Rosa Railway. A historic train, “The Whitman Express”, brought passengers between San Francisco and Santa Rosa and played a pivotal role in the development of Sonoma. We pay tribute to the entrepreneurial spirit of this California wine pioneer with The Whitman Express.

Ruby black color. Aromas of dried cherry, pomegranate, dried leaves, and fine furniture with a satiny, vibrant, dry-yet-fruity full body and a warming, interesting, medium-long earth, clove, and tobacco finish. A concentrated chewy red. 4/18/2019
Tasting Info:
Style: Fruity, Juicy & Smooth, Oaky, Rich & Full & Spicy & Complex
Aroma Aroma: dried cherry, pomegranate, dried leaves, and fine furniture
Nice price for stocking stuffers!! I see Cuyahoga and Medina counties are on the board. Any Rats out there? Definitely not impressed by the BTI description on taste of earth, clove, and tobacco! Eliminating the clove, it kinda makes it sound like this juice was mopped up from a bar floor after closing!! Need to know what type of fruit is showing up on the taste buds!
Hey all - looks like there was an error in the states listed for this offer. NJ is not an allowed state for this vintner, so we’ve removed that from the options.
If you are shipping to NJ and placed an order, you’ll receive an email shortly explaining that it was canceled.
Oh what the hell, I’m in. We now have three senior citizens (parents) and one adult “child” living with us so we can use more daily drinkers. Not that any of them are drinking wine, but with them all living with us, my husband and I are drinking more.

I’m glad it smells like fine furniture and not like the musty old couch in my basement!
fwiw
I’ve got too much as it is. But a $10 daily drinker? Hell of a deal. This is a “drinkable” red, you can easily share with your friends without shame.
Too much wine, but I still might get some. More thinking needed.

@Boatman72 See the Previous Offer.
I bought this the last time. Very nice wine for the price. Nothing over the top, but a good daily drinker I’d happily serve to guests.
@flotron yea, this really is a good deal (if i may).

Sorry about that!
@Thumperchick clearly NJ and Whitman Express are not perfect together.
Why so quiet around here? Hope it doesn’t stay so for much longer
Wondering what’s up for Friday fun tomorrow… hmmm…??
