TASTING NOTES: “Nice clean, fruit-forward nose, delicate and smooth in the mouth with herbs, honey, white flowers and gingerbread aromas. Weighty and quite complex in the mouth with good acidity and minerality, nice and balanced on the finish.

Extended skin maceration, while not the norm for Bordeaux Blanc, gives this wine unique weight and color along with distinctive honey notes on the palate.” (AbV 12.5%, pH 3.7, TA 3.2 g/L, RS < 2 g/L)

THAT REMINDS ME OF: Pokémon #153, Bayleef.

With each Pokémon game, you choose one of three “starter” Pokémon. Though the actual creatures change each generation, they are always of the Water, Fire, and Grass types. This is because those three have a rock-paper-scissors relationship as far as their effectiveness.

For the 2nd generation, Pokémon Silver and Gold from 1999, you had Chikorita as the Grass starter. Looked like a little, green bean-like sauropod with a big leaf on its head.

Once Chikorita reaches level 16, it evolves into Bayleef. Bigger, less bean-like, but still a sauropod. According to the in-game description, the leaves ringing its neck give off a spicy scent that can invigorate you or make you want to fight. So there you go.
