What is CleanWine®? Why the trademark symbol? Well, some people have mixed experiences with wine, particularly red wines. Red wine tends to have more histamines in it than white, and histamines can have some rather unfortunate effects on people. People also can have issues with sulfites, which are added to many wines to prevent oxidation during aging.

Deerfield decided, what if we did our best to reduce both the histamines and active sulfites to levels low enough that people who usually end up having a reaction to red wine don’t? By reducing the presence of bacteria in the fermentation environment and ensuring most of the sulfites have gone inert before release, they’ve got a tasty CleanWine® that can be enjoyed by individuals who usually avoid it due to headaches and other bodily reactions.
