About Laurel Glen Vineyard
Whew, where do we even begin? Well, the first Cabernet was planted in the mountains here back in 1880. The vineyard as we know it wasn’t established until the 1970’s, and the first vintage wasn’t until 1981. The vineyard passed through a few different hands over the decades since, but has always been known for its premium Cabernet. Nowadays, Phil Coturri, the vineyard’s organic viticultural guru (literally a mountain guru), manages the vineyard. Winemaker Randall Watkins, an apparent mountain Cabernet expert at this point, handles the cellar.
With these two at the wheel, the vineyard is now certified organic and maintaining the nuanced heritage and unique “sense of place” these mountain Cabernets have been known for.
