TASTING NOTES:
A very alluring pink candy floss hue, fun and inviting. This is an elegant Rosé, as expected made with Cabernet Sauvignon, it exudes class without forgoing its roots, but combines elegantly with everyday enjoyment. Classic fynbos and spice combine with candy floss and raspberry cool drink in an everyday fun way. Both inviting with the sweetness of black and red berries, and also alluring with cinnamon and earthy fynbos perfume. (AbV 12.5%, pH: 3.60, TA 5.5 g/L, RS 5.7 g/L)

THAT REMINDS ME OF: Candy floss, what they call cotton candy in places once touched by the Commonwealth. Or apparently in France it is called barbe à papa, meaning, let’s see here, it says… “daddy’s beard.” Alright. Okay.

Cotton candy seems like a pretty old confection. Very straightforward, simplistic… until you realize, oh wait, unless you have a machine it’s a huge pain in the ass to make. There were potentially instances of spun sugar prior to machines, at least in the 19th century, but it wasn’t until, of all people, a dentist named William Morrison and confectioner John Wharton showed off some machine-spun at the 1904 World’s Fair. The actual patent for the standard cotton candy machine came from an Albert Robinson a year later, and it persists to this day.

Also, apparently there is a National Cotton Candy Day. December 7th. They’ll just give a day to anything.
