TASTING NOTES:
Malbec - “This wine packs an opaque, inky, dark purple hue. Aromas of dark berry cobbler on the nose are revealed on the elegant palate brimming with black currants and tapenade and lead to a
long finish with well-integrated tannins.” (AbV 14.5%, pH 3.51, TA 7.6 g/L)

Zinfandel - “Crafted from an organically-farmed vineyard, Bailey is a showstopper. The nose is bursting with aromas of olallieberries, roses and blueberry pie. The palate is redolent of mixed dark fruit cobbler brimming with baking spices and candied cherries leading to a long silky finish.” (AbV 15.5%, pH 3.75, TA 7.0 g/L)

Cabernet Sauvignon - “Our 2020 DeVine Cabernet Sauvignon has enticing aromas of berry brambles, leather and black cherries, which lead to flavors of sweet red and dark fruits and a long, silky finish.” (AbV 13.5%, pH 3.56, TA 7.2 g/L)

THAT REMINDS ME OF: PRUNUS PERSICA. Although it was named after Persia, which became a large cultivator of it around the time Persia actually existed, the peach was first cultivated all the way in Eastern China. It made its trek westward over centuries, although China still produces the majority of peaches in the world. Mediterranean countries produce a lot of the rest, and then we’ve got Georgia over here I guess. The peach is in the same genus as cherries, apricots, almonds, and plums. In fact, the kernel of a peach stone is pretty similar to an almond. You can even make marzipan from it. Another fun fact: peaches and nectarines are the same species, the latter just lack the gene for fuzz.
