Tasting notes & discussion 91
  • Zilch Tempranillo typically $29/bottle, Spaniard is $49/bottle
  • Speaking of oak, why is oak the go-to wine barrel
  • Apparently oak happens to be just the right balance of porous and water tight. Aging in oak can also impart vanilla and spice flavor to a wine.
  • The 4-pack contains 2 of each bottle, and the case contains 6 of each
  • Sold by Twisted Oak Winery, fulfilled by… Wine Country Connect? Inconceivable!

About Twisted Oak Winery
Twisted Oak is all about making good wine and having a good time. Just outside Murphys, California, Jeff and Mary Stai founded their winery with a 10 acre vineyard of Tempranillo, Graciano, and Garnacha, taking advantage of the almost Mediterranean soil and climate. At 2000 feet above sea level and amidst the Sierra Nevadas, they’ve built their four-level, no-pumpover gravity flow winery. Their name comes from the 350 year old California Blue Oak tree that watches over the winery, which was also given the prestige of adorning every Twisted Oak bottle.

In a nutshell, some serious wines by some seriously fun people.
