TASTING NOTES: "Light bodied and crisp, it is approachable with a little complexity and a lot of fun flavor bursts. The nose shares the appealing aroma of wild strawberries, peach and watermelon. Easy to drink and pleasingly light and dry, flavors of pineapple and spicy pear, with floral accents of honeysuckle and orange blossom hit the palate. These bright flavors are accompanied by a delicate mouth feel and a refreshing, clean finish. The lively fruit profile paired with the beautiful acidity makes this wine a thirst-quenching delight.” (AbV 12.5%)

THAT REMINDS ME OF: Fittingly, considering the two owners were MLB players, the games One Old Cat and Two Old Cat.

Old Cat is essentially a simplified version of baseball played without teams and with as few as three players. The positions are striker/batter, giver/pitcher, and catcher. There are two bases, consisting of home and the pitcher’s mound. When the batter hits the ball, the pitcher and catcher try to tag the batter out with the ball as they run between the two bases. If the batter is struck out, they rotate to become a catcher while the catcher moves to pitcher and the pitcher moves to batter. If you have more than three players, you can add more catchers, or they can wait on the bench for rotation.

You can additionally play Two Old Cat, where there are two batters opposite of each other. Instead of running between the pitcher’s mound and home, the batters run to the other batter’s home and then back to their own.
