THAT REMINDS ME OF: The Jersey Devil.

Okay, so imagine goat. Now make it walk on its hind legs. Now give it bat wings. Give it a pointed tail. Give it some grabby little claws on its forelegs. And to finish it off, just make it look real weird. Now you’ve got yourself a Jersey Devil.

Also known as the Leeds Devil, the Jersey Devil was supposedly the cursed child of one Mother Leeds who either got impregnated by the devil himself or was so fed up with her pregnancy that she said this kid was gonna be “the devil.” And then it was. Legend goes it stalks the Pine Barrens, a place with a name that sounds too cool to be in New Jersey.

Likely just a bogeyman for the region based on the tarnished reputation of the Leeds family in the early 1700’s, sightings of the thing sporadically crop up from the 18th century all the way to the early 20th.
