4.6% for us. I like dessert wine but my SWMBO does not, and most of our wine friends do not… Need more Denver peeps to share a bottle with once we can gather again!
@klezman I once had ~15-20% dessert wine, but over time we’ve not replaced much of the old Port, Sauternes, or Auslese/Beerenauslese/Trockenbeerenauselese (which I was able to buy at ridiculously low prices when I was in the Army) which I had from the old old days… and as a health matter, I simply can’t drink very much sweet wine at all… sigh. I miss good dessert wine…
@rpm We don’t drink it that often either - more a function of not wanting to have too much alcohol any given night. But that’s given me a bit more appreciation for icewine sold in 200 ml containers.
Exactly one bottle, which works out to considerably less than 1%. Literally nobody in my family likes them. It’s a strange blind spot for us, given that between us, we like almost all other kinds of ‘adult’ beverages, from beer to mead to almost every subcategory of wine to hard liquors and cocktails made from them. (We don’t categorize mead with dessert wines.)
I have a bunch, including 3 750s of Any Gorilla.
SWMBO didn’t like desert wines 'til we went to Portugal.
So, many Ports and some Reciotos too.
Don’t have an inventory, but I’d guess 100±.
@ScottW58 1,000 btls! is this your self imposed limit?
My 2020 self imposed limit was 250, 2021 is going to be 200. So I got to work down about 3-4 cases before buying any more reds.
3.2% 322 bottles
@rjquillin Did you count the VA PS Ports I have for you?
@rjquillin
Only a measly 22 bottles for us, and a higher percentage!
@MarkDaSpark
Ha, what’s at your place will be an adventure to inventory, especially that IH…
@rjquillin 10,000±
@rjquillin. Never got that one, I only picked up that one case for you, and that was dropped off years ago.
Bad poll. By bottles or by volume?
Most dessert wines are 375ml or 500ml, with a few at 750ml. So one may have more bottles than volume!

Around 10%, I think
@klezman
Just around!?
I would expect four significant digits from you!
@rjquillin I didn’t check CT. They tell me 8.7% in my cellar and that’ll bump up a touch by adding molarchae’s.

@klezman I just checked I’m at 0.8% ( 2 btls). Sounds about right!

0.6% 6 bottles, just don’t really drink them anymore.

@CorTot @ScottW58 We’re implementing a purchase limit for 2021 so we can downsize the cellar by a decent amount.
@CorTot
My self imposed limit was 6 to 700 bottles but this covid stay away from people thing is ruining my efforts! That and I’m kinda weak sometimes
0.5% 12 bottles, mainly drank at dinner gatherings, don’t believe one was opened in 2020.
