It seems that HB 415, which has gone into effect, makes it legal to ship alcoholic beverages directly to customers in Kentucky.
Congrats! Now all you need is a couple of these wineries to start shipping there. Do you know if there are any licensing requirements they need to satisfy in order to ship there, or fees they need to pay?
I haven’t read the whole thing, just the summaries, but it seems they have to be a producer, be licensed, and pay 15%. And the boxes must be clearly marked and ID must be required for delivery.
And maybe their states need to allow bourbon distilleries to ship there, but I’m not sure.
Wineries always lag. KY will come. it will be hit and miss early on, but then become more regular. Stay tuned for sure.
Anyone have an updates on this? I’m very thirsty…
