When a company I worked for had their buildings landscaped, there were many Bradford pear trees planted. In the spring they were covered with beautiful white blossoms. As you approached them you expected to smell a sweet fragrance, but what you were met with could be best described as carrion. (One guy had an apt nickname for the trees, which I will not repeat, which also described the smell.)
We have 4 beautiful Bradford pears on side of our house in AR, about twenty ft high, very little smell
