Smooth and lush, this medium bodied blend has bright acidity with flavors of blueberry, cherry, strawberry, & spice. Pairs well with friends, good movie, or a good book!
Our favorite foods with this wine are: Pork tenderloin, prime rib, turkey chili, grilled Coca-Cola brined chicken or any day that ends in āy,ā or your favorite pizza!
The Linen Red is created to be a drinkable, affordable every day red with a refined character. Grapes are selected from vineyards throughout Washingtonās Columbia Valley. Fermented in small lots using traditional techniques.
This is our everyday go-to red wine! Smooth and easy to drink!

Established in 2002 by two friends pursuing a shared dream. Bergevin Lane Winery nurtures wines that embody the truly unique environment of Walla Walla, Columbia and Yakima Valleys and the distinct single vineyards from where the rich terrestrial wines come from.
Our goal is to design wines that are well-balanced, fruit forward and structured so that they may be cellared or enjoyed immediately.
The vision that we share is to create elegant-styled wines that reflect harmony between fruit and oak. Stylistically, we make wines that reflect the unique terroir attributes, while maintaining integrity to the varietal characteristics. Some of our favorite adjectives for our wines include: food friendly, fruit-driven, structured and smoothā¦ And simply put, wines that all can enjoy for any occasion.
We make wines of sizzle and mood. Wines that can muscle for your affection, or drink like a dash of glitter across an elegant shoulder.

2016 Bergevin Lane Linen Red Wine - $15 = 12.50%
Twist-n-pour revealed a medium-dark red color with both red cherry and purple tones. It was slow to form legs and had no prominent aroma (or maybe my nose just wasnāt working that night). It was pleasant in the mouth, with the alcohol well balanced by the fruit. The flavor didnāt suggest to me any particular dark berries (no prominent blackberry or mulberry, for example), but with all those grape varieties thatās probably no surprise. There are some red cherry tones in the color, and since I had some tart cherry juice open, I poured a little: almost identical color.
Things didnāt change much an hour and a half later at dinner, and the second day the wine didnāt seem to have changed much either. I donāt remember where I heard somebodyās description of a wine, āIt was a modest unpretentious little wine, but nonetheless eminently drinkableā, but that pretty well sums it up. If the price comes in less than $12, Iāll add some to my already bulging cellar. It does go down easily.

Iād say they hit it on the head with this one.
And now that I can see the CaseMates price, Iām in for a case.
@DickL thanks! we think you totally nailed it. This wine is super easy to drink, and ( we think ) offers a lot of good structure for the price point. thanks for being our LabRat!!!
That is followed up with the late William Smith trying his damndest to deliver a serious performance but every scene he is out-staged by De Hartās lack of acting and Wings Hauserās coked out performance.
Two weeks ago I was in Walla Walla on a trip out west. I planned on visiting a few tasting rooms, and after receiving and tasting the Bergevin Lane Moonspell Cab, which was offered here in July, we added Bergevin Lane to our list.
We visited the tasting room on a Saturday afternoon, and in spite of crush and the staff readying wine club members shipments, Annette and her gang treated us like old friends, or as my wife said, royalty. We purchased 4 bottles to take with us, and joined their wine club. I buy LOTS of wine, but rarely join wine clubs. Annette, Christie, Sarah, and the rest of the gang were so nice!
While in the tasting room I sent the pic here to my NE OH CaseMate friends and @chipgreen immediately responded āThe She-Devil herselfā, She-Devil being the name of one of their Syrahs.
Annette had to depart to get back to their production facility, but later phoned Sarah to make sure they gave me a bottle of the Linen Red Blend to take home.
On Monday night, as we were preparing dinner of homemade rigatoni Bolognese, I poured my wife a small taste of the Linen Red Blend, and she immediately responded āthis is good, what is it?ā I showed her the label and she said āOh WOW!ā which I have translated to great wine for such a reasonable SRP of $16.
Day 1: Served at cellar temp of 65, the wine had a light bright red color, and a nose and taste that matched. If I didnāt know the blend, I would have thought it was a RRV PN. Bright cherry flavor, light tannin, amazing mouth watering acidity, and a very nice finish. It reminded me of the 1st Onesta Cinsault offered here a few years ago. I decided then I was ordering a case. Bottle capped and left on the counter.
Day 2: I donāt think I have ever had a wine that changed so much over the course of 24 hours. I find we typically like a wine after it has been opened for a day, but have never experienced this much of a change.
The color was noticeably darker, and much more opaque. The flavor shifted from ripe cherry and raspberry to darker red fruits, a little spice, more tannins, and a touch of oak.
Am I crazy? Can a wine change this much, and if so why?
The wine on day 2 while different was none the less delicious. It maintained itās mouthwatering acidity. I think this is a wine that will appeal to your wine loving friends and those that seldom sip vino alike.
Still in for a case, and maybe two if my NE OH CaseMate friends want in.
Cheers to Annette, Michelle, Christie, and the rest of the Bergevin Lane fam for bringing their delicious WA wines to CaseMates!!!
Awwww ! all us BLV ladies claim to be the She Devil, depending on the circumstances! But yep, Annette even has the fake red horns that sheāll wear on occasion. Thanks for visiting, all the kind words, and for your unofficial Rattage. big hugs from all of us!
Just jumped off of the 1.5 fermenting bins, doing our daily punchdowns and realized I needed to get over here and let you all know this is a steal of a deal! Predominately Walla Walla fruit, all made in our winery, no bulk in this bottle! (Not to say bulk is bad ). We made this from A-Z including using 71% from our estate vineyard! Friends will tease and call it a āPorch Pounderā because itās that easy to drink! The remaining vineyards are some of the best in our state including Franciscaās Vineyard which is Live Certified and Salmon Safe, Les Collines Vineyard, all here in Walla Walla and then Stone Tree Vineyards from the Wahluke Slope.
I have the same thought process, but with slightly less experience at 4 cabs and 2 she-devils. We are going in for a case based on how much we liked those wines and the price offered for this one.
@sandbarhappy My storage problem is aggravated by the fact that a friend I often split with got Covid. Heās fine, but says that after a month, his sense of taste is only about 50%, and couldnāt tell a good wine from two buck chuck. My suggestion that he should drink twice as much was not well received. On the upside, he might get a bottle of the Moonspell when heās fully recovered, but I think Iām keeping most of it. This offer sounds right in his wheelhouse.
@mrn1 is an enabler and will be chuckling when he reads this. @chipgreen, you are welcome to share but not obligated. The OH outside sales force for Bergevin has earned his commission.

Well, thisāll be two in a row for me. I believe one of the last two-in-a-row was also from Bergevin Lane; it has become pretty much an auto-buy for me.
I got a golden ticketā¦but oh crap!..itās being sent to my old address as I just moved in July. Alice was quick on the draw and get it rerouted.
Now onto the good stuffā¦
Screwed off the top and poured out a glass. Itās a nice dark red color in the glass. On the nose I got some spiciness with some berries. On the palate itās a little light for my taste. Still some berry taste. Blueberry, cherry, and a hint of strawberry. It paired decently with everything we tried with it. Steak, aged cheddar, aged gouda. Nothing great but definitely very approachable and easy drinking. Iād guess around $12 for the casemates price and given the lower offer price Iām all over this one! Cheers!
Iāve loved both their syrah and their cab this is an absolute no brainer. Thanks for all that you do to bring us great wine at a fantastic price both CaseMates & Bergevin!
