Black cherry and raspberry aromas form the bright red fruit profile on this classic Cabernet. Smooth and silky in texture, refined powdery tannins provide an excellent framework for the fleshy ripe mid palate. Hints of nutmeg and espresso bean add to the complexity of flavors on the palate. The finish is decidedly long and persistent.
90 Points, Wine Enthusiast
Flavorful, well-structured and well-balanced, this is a wine for all seasons. With a medium to full body, generous black cherry and raspberry aromas, and a nicely
dry mouthfeel, it is ready to pair with almost any meat, fowl or cheesy dish.
90 Points, Anthony Dias Blue
Smooth, fresh and toasty with soft herbs and plum; clean and balanced.

Im not a current rat, but ive had Cult before and i loved it. Was recommended to me at Total Wine a few years back. Just last week, I went there to get another bottle or two and they dont sell it in their Miami stores anymore (was $29 when i last saw it there). I canāt believe itās on casemates today for under $12 a bottleā¦ Just bought two cases. You should too.
@bottomlesspit The Cult at Total for $29 might be a non-vintage bottling they did at that price point,at least that is what is a Total near me. This looks to retail at $20, Wine Library has it for $14. That being said, looks like a nice deal here. Rattage?
Iām really into cabs right now so Iām excited about this offering. I initially opened this up on Saturday afternoon and just finished the last of it last night. Each glass was more delicious than last!
First impressions: smelled notes of anise, cherry, and leather upon the first pour. I was pleased with the beautiful deep ruby color in the glass. This wine was immediately drinkable, right out of the bottle. No waiting, so aeration, just pour and enjoy.
The first sips had some cherry, blackberry, and pepper. Absolutely delicious. Cut up some BellaVitano Merlot Cheese for an afternoon snack and it paired perfectly. My fiance, who is not a wine fan, loved this one. He said it was really smooth. Itās rare that we both enjoy the same bottle. It was a challenge not drinking the whole bottle at lunch but I wanted to save some for dinner (and subsequent days).
The longer this sat open, the better it got. I had a glass with dinner on Saturday, which consisted of falafel with a spicy garlic sauce. This cab held itās own against some pretty strong flavors. Monday & Tuesday I had smaller pours with dinner (tried to stretch it out as long as possible). It held up really well with time and continued to yield yummy notes of cherry in the glass.
Iām a big fan. I noted that I would gladly pay $20/bottle for this. At half that for the case price, I may have to snag one. If any Portlanders out there are interested in splitting a case, HMU.
This has been a great lab. Opened it and air out in a decanter for an hour. Medium-light nose. A hint of herb and berry. Very approachable. Not the usual ācab bombā
Had it with some homemade baby back ribs and surprisingly. It brings out more of the cab flavor in the wine. (Sauce is not very sweet type) I can picture this going very well with a marsala sauce chicken.
I will buy more of these.
Iāll be short and sweet:
This is eminently palatable cab for a wide variety of wine drinkers. Definitely not a ācab bombā as mentioned. Itās not at all fruit forward, though thereās some raspberry and black fruit lingering in the wings. I got some really pleasant chocolate with some of its earthier notes. A dry cab that wonāt overwhelm and would make a nice party pleaser (unless party goers are big fruit fans).
I never say cab is my favorite and this didnāt change my mind. For the price, however, itās super solid, with a little more depth than Iād expect from a ~$13 cab (although not as much as Iād expect from a $20 cab).
Based on the rattage and other comments, grabbed a case. If anyone in NH/No. MA is looking for a couple bottles, I would be willing to share, just email on the NH casemates google list.
@woopdedoo Thanks woopdedoo. itās well north of town of Sonoma for now. closer to Geyserville. Got in touch with Ed at Pedroncelli. They and the winery are safe. we are a little jittery, but fine.

Donāt believe Iāve ever seen Syrah Coopenip before. Might be a new grape for those who are aiming for century club levels.
@pseudogourmet98 Iām glad someone else noticed, though Iām told that only old people can see grammar these days.

@kaolis you are so right. Different. Per the rats, though, still worthy!

Cases are already sold out!
@origamipenguins You scared me, but I was still able to buy a case. Maybe you bought your limit?
@raccoon81 Maybe so? Oh well, a half-case will do just fine for me. Less shuffling to make it fit in the ol cellar.

In for a case. If any of the NoVA folks would like a few bottles feel free to reach out, Iām happy to part with 6.
Taking word that could be good one for party to share.

@Winedavid49 I was thinking of the Pedroncelli folks specifically. Thanks for the update!
