I think I’m going to pop for the 5L and decant into 750s with little to no headspace and, for what there may be, do an Ar backfill so it won’t oxidize. Some will be gifts.

@dirtdoctor @rjquillin That’s a great idea, especially if the Ar can keep that just-crushed quality. The oil is great even after the greenness fades a little, but when it’s really fresh it’s like a trip to Tuscany. Well, a little like a trip to Tuscany…

@dirtdoctor @rjquillin @Winedavid49 Lol. I don’t use that much butter in cooking, that doesn’t solve the issue for me! Plus this nuovo stuff is not ideal for cooking, imo. Better for finishing dishes, dressing salads and vegetables, etc.

@dirtdoctor @InFrom @rjquillin @Winedavid49 Butter has been unfairly demonized in the press. Current thinking is that while unsaturated fats are better for you, saturated fats are not bad. For some of us, OO will never replace butter because we like the flavor of butter. Personally, I split the difference: enough butter for taste and if more fat is needed I use OO to extend.

I just called my local Costco to ask if they have any. After doing some digging, the guy found some in back and he thanked me for inquiring because they weren’t even aware they had it lol. The price here though is $12.99 per pound. I’m guessing your Costco must have a bunch they’re trying to offload.

@hscottk I dug a bit into the CT listings, fwiw, and the two holders of this also have a good assortment of other NV bottlings all scoring 90+ but no real TNs for this one.
There are some notable other wineries sourcing from SL vineyard; Alpha Omega, AXR, Azur, Brion, Empreinte, Etzel Brothers, Fait-Main, Julien Fayard and others. I’m done with of c&p, here’s the short link for just the '15 vintage to look for yourself.

My bottle from earlier this year is going to become Olio Vecchio by the time I figure out how to open it! Cap just spins round and round – I can’t get it to detach from the ring that seals it closed. I tried a combo of vise grip and wrench, but I can’t get the thing to crack. Very frustrating. Anybody know the secret? Maybe I’ll find a youtube on the topic.

Yesterday I had to pick up a re-routed FedEx HAL.
The absolute most PITA I have ever had to deal with. They would not release the box (wine) unless I could provide some document with both my name and the original delivery address to prove it was mine. Un effing believable.
Do you have something with your name and the address of your storage locker location on a single document?
The shipping label on the box doesn’t count.
