hscottk thought this was worth mentioning said0
I think it was time. TSO has a new vintage of Notre Vin L’etrier up today, 2012. Still $30. CT notes look great. I may have to jump in again when goes on sale later. Anyone tried this vintage?
And thanks to @kaolis for mentioning the daily preview option. It makes all the difference.

And good too, to have a fresh thread here that doesn’t take forever to load.
Live now. This has grapes from Atlas Peak and Conn Valley.
clearly a better price than the $65 I paid Invino back in 2018-04
And better than the $59.99 K&L had it for
@rjquillin @ScottW58 Yeah I couldn’t pass this one up either. Added another 6 to my Notre Vin stash. Chances are, I’ll regret not buying more.
You are both enablers, but you already knew so
Commendable marketing ploy by 'tso
@hscottk @rjquillin @ScottW58 Maybe you’re too easy, Ron.
@hscottk @jmdavidson1 @ScottW58
Just really need to clear out all my bookmarks
It’s a Scott thing
@hscottk @rjquillin @ScottW58 Product number?
@hscottk @klezman @ScottW58
Notre Vin Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Cuvée L’Étrier 2012 by Denis Malbec Product ID: (89997)
@rjquillin @ScottW58 enablers? We live to give!
@hscottk @rjquillin @ScottW58 Yes, that’s the one. We’ll see if it sticks around long enough for me to buy it.
@klezman @rjquillin @ScottW58 When I bought, they still had the 2011 and even the 2014 HM bottling. They seem to have an endless supply!
TSO later today will have the 2013 Notre Vin PN Madeleine for $22.99. Has anyone tried this? Your thoughts.
@jmdavidson1 Live! In for 4.
Have not had one but I’m on the fence, a guy who was known for his cab merlot Bordeaux blend wines making Pinot?
makes me wonder as well. and some of the CT pics are CS labels
Of course I could be wrong and not sure CT pics of labels mean anything?
It just goes to confirm the confusion many CT users seem to exhibit when entering, posting and uploading label and other notes.
@jmdavidson1 @rjquillin @ScottW58 TRB makes some excellent Pinot despite being known for his Cabernet…
@jmdavidson1 @klezman @rjquillin
Like I said I could be wrong, @jmdavidson1 please post a note after you try them.
@jmdavidson1 @klezman @rjquillin @ScottW58
I grabbed some, too. Will try to remember to post when I open one (for science, of course).
@jmdavidson1 @karenhynes @rjquillin @ScottW58 WTSO is showing that one as sold out completely, so we may not get the chance to experiment on our own later! Oh well.
Anyone see interest on this one from 'tso?
Aliénor ‘Le Troubadour’ Lake County Red Wine 2011 by Denis Malbec
@rjquillin saw it not buying but looks interesting. They even have what appears to be an in-house current tasting note
Morgan Ranch prices going up but you probably know that if you’ve bought from them. Looks like prices steady through sometime in Feb
@kaolis plus a BD offer too I imagine
@kaolis It’s odd…I’ve bought from them but never get any emails from them even though I’ve tried to sign up on their site multiple times.
Just a request for those who still check woot. If you ever see the Beehive cheese up for sale, please post here!
@chipgreen And we should tell @WineDavid49 that it’s on request!
That stuff is excellent, especially the barely buzzed. I also want to try the Teahive, but it’s never available with another flavour I want.
@chipgreen @klezman @Winedavid49
And it’s damn difficult to find his offers the way the mother ship has trashed the site.
We need a H-U from WD when things like that, and oil and vinegar and truffle butter and chocolates are offered.
Navarro has its annual “Fukubukuro” Lucky Bag sale: $78 6-bottle sampler with at least 50% discount. Limit one but add 6 more btls for one-cent shipping and 10% case discount on the addl 6.
@marikar Sounds a lot like their berserker deals before they parted ways.
@marikar this is generally a solid deal.
@CorTot @marikar I’m really tempted to get one. Had some excellent values from it. But the WBM must stand until Berserker Day.
Anyone have any experience with Wineheist?
Some Salumi Chicago options over at the old messy site…
it is messy over there and difficult to tease out the goodies.
@winedavid49 Any chance of a Mani olives appearance on the old site? We’re hooked!
No olives, but balsamic and olive oil on old site.
@dirtdoctor Thanks! Been waiting for that. I love that olio nuovo. Pressed just last fall, omg.
I see the price isn’t bad, except that the bottle is 1/3 smaller than the ones they used to sell. I’ll bite the bullet anyway.
Now, if I could just find four other New Yorkers to each take a liter from that 5-liter tin, that would be a nice deal.
I think I’m going to pop for the 5L and decant into 750s with little to no headspace and, for what there may be, do an Ar backfill so it won’t oxidize. Some will be gifts.
@dirtdoctor @rjquillin That’s a great idea, especially if the Ar can keep that just-crushed quality. The oil is great even after the greenness fades a little, but when it’s really fresh it’s like a trip to Tuscany. Well, a little like a trip to Tuscany…
@dirtdoctor @InFrom @rjquillin i mentioned to Howard Case a while back i could not use all that 5L and he said, " you are using way too much butter". now i use OO instead of butter on a bunch of my prep.
@dirtdoctor @rjquillin @Winedavid49 Lol. I don’t use that much butter in cooking, that doesn’t solve the issue for me! Plus this nuovo stuff is not ideal for cooking, imo. Better for finishing dishes, dressing salads and vegetables, etc.
@dirtdoctor @InFrom @rjquillin @Winedavid49 Butter has been unfairly demonized in the press. Current thinking is that while unsaturated fats are better for you, saturated fats are not bad. For some of us, OO will never replace butter because we like the flavor of butter. Personally, I split the difference: enough butter for taste and if more fat is needed I use OO to extend.
@davirom @dirtdoctor @InFrom @rjquillin fyi - I got 30% back offer for the old site on Capital One Shopping today - initial email was for an electronics item but should work site wide. I subsequently got the same email for the olive oil after poking around the food section on the old site.
@ctmariner @davirom @dirtdoctor @InFrom
Awww #$&÷!*, a day late
Wine Access has the 2019 Kukeri CS NV for $35 -$30. In case you missed the offer here or want to get more.
@jmdavidson1 Have you tried it yet?
@hscottk when this was on casemates, i ratted the 2019 oakville. I haven’t tried the other 3 ava’s from the offer.
Just in case you have extra time/$$$ today 'tso can help you out.
Notre Vin Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 by Denis Malbec $60
Bell on WS, no idea if the price is any good but I’ve heard others rave about bell
@deadlyapp I was coming here to say this also. Not sure if $48 is worth it for me under the new winemaker.
@deadlyapp @klezman All the more reason for WD to get a deal here, so we can try the new winemaker’s bottlings.
For all of my fancy cooking mateys…
Got three of those when they were last up in Dec.
Do I really need to indulge in more after BD…
Need a fill-up on the 2018 GÅRD Cabernet Sauvignon.
WL (wine-text) has them for $21~29 depending on how many you buy.
Wilson Winery is having a case sale on Gold Medal Reds.
Their Zinfandels are some of the best I’ve had.
And this mix looks interesting.
Not a “deal” per se, but does anybody in SoCal want in on my Turley allocation? I’m not getting much for myself.
Not wine but better Costco has big dungeness crabs for $4.99 a pound, run don’t walk! Not yanked fresh out of the ocean like @danandlisa are doing right now but I will take what I can get!
I just called my local Costco to ask if they have any. After doing some digging, the guy found some in back and he thanked me for inquiring because they weren’t even aware they had it lol. The price here though is $12.99 per pound. I’m guessing your Costco must have a bunch they’re trying to offload.
Notre Vin Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2011 Cuvée L’Étrier up later today $30 same ole place
Too bad it’s not the Howell
PSA I was told about a wine last night from someone whose palate I know and trust explicitly that this wine it was so beautiful I had to buy it! So I thought I would post it since I got mine he said it still has many years of life left ymmv. Wine access has this for $79 for 6, $89 for less bottles. 1976 Bodegas Corral Rioja Gran Reserva
WTSO has Pedroncelli Chardonnay Dry Creek Valley 2021 Family Reserve as part of the $150 case sale
2019 Ty Caton Upper Bench Merlot $27 @ Wine Spies.
Last Bottle has some Pinot deals today, I grabbed offer #4, Halcon Oppenlander Vineyard Pinot Noir Mendocino County 2019
@CorTot I was too late. How much was it?
@CorTot @hscottk $26
I was strongly considering it but I’m trying to avoid these sorts of temptations.
@hscottk @klezman another chance.
Halcon Pinot Noir Bearwallow Vineyard Anderson Valley 2017 @ $20. FS on 3.
@CorTot @hscottk damn that’s a fantastic deal
@CorTot @hscottk @klezman
Those Oppenlanders are still available.
Bearwallow as well.
I’m not sure this is a “deal”, but here is a link to the upcoming (bidding opens March 28) Willamette Valley Collector’s Auction.
TSO has in the Last Chance grouping, the 2012 Notre Vin CS L’Etrier at $29.99, FS on 3.
@jmdavidson1 Thanks, haven’t tried it, but it looks good. Also had some interesting Angilianico from the Campania Region that looked good…and cheap.
2015 Notre Vin “sleeping lady” Napa cab on ‘tso today. Anyone know about this one? It’s priced between the l’etrier and HM bottlings.
@hscottk I dug a bit into the CT listings, fwiw, and the two holders of this also have a good assortment of other NV bottlings all scoring 90+ but no real TNs for this one.
There are some notable other wineries sourcing from SL vineyard; Alpha Omega, AXR, Azur, Brion, Empreinte, Etzel Brothers, Fait-Main, Julien Fayard and others. I’m done with of c&p, here’s the short link for just the '15 vintage to look for yourself.
Nope, not much help at all…
The fact that Parker gave it an 87 means it’s gotta be good
@hscottk @rjquillin @ScottW58 But I like Parkerized wines!
@FritzCat @hscottk @rjquillin
Everybody’s favorite caramels are hidden amongst the noms over at the old site…
@karenhynes also still available, assortments of
@rjquillin thanks! I crawled out of the cave for this. I was kinda waiting/depending on you to throw this in the deals section.
@rjquillin @TechnoViking Same here. We ordered two barrels this time! Thanks!
2 day Last Bottle marathon starts Thursday at 9 am PDT
I see 'tso has Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 Calla Lily ‘Ultimate’ Red up today.
@rjquillin I bought a few when it was a few months ago, haven’t had any yet. I’ve been happy with other vintages. reasonable QPR.
