Wait, the question is confusing. If you say “often” it means you “often don’t do it, right?”
I was just double-checking because it seems like I am answering “I often look at myself in the mirror” and that’s definitely not what I meant. Who writes these things anyway? Maybe they need more wine. Or less.
I was tripping balls in 2004, and looked into a mirror. My soul has forever been in the ether since then. Don’t do it, kids! Seriously though, high as a kite is the perfect time to look into a mirror. Dilated pupils, wild grin. Wait… what were we talking about? Must have cracked my back accidentally.
The “TANGENTIALLY RELATED RAMBLE” started well, but missed … your image isn’t from the “surface”, but the rear of most mirrors. There’s a coating on the back.
The modern mirror is made by silvering, or spraying a thin layer of silver or aluminum onto the back of a sheet of glass.
So the image you see (as the TRR started) isn’t from the surface of the mirror, but from the back of the glass!
Most mirrors … because survival mirrors (IIRC) are made from metal that is highly polished (because glass is fragile).

Some days I just roll with it and don’t bother with the mirror at all. Embracing that natural look and going mirror-free can be quite liberating
