Bright yellow color with greenish glints. It has a frank, fruity aroma dominated by pineapple, passion fruit and mango, with sweet and floral notes. This gives this wine its freshness and harmony that flows smoothly and balanced in the mouth and adds to the sweet notes and pleasant acidity.
About the Wine
This wine is the result of combined styles of two Argentine winemakers, Hector and Pablo Durigutti. The treatment of this wine was minimal in order to preserve the natural intensity of the fruit.
Brothers Héctor and Pablo Durigutti are two of Argentina’s most sought-after consulting enologists. Hector first became known for his work alongside Alberto Antonini as one of the co-founders of Altos Las Hormigas, the forward-thinking project that placed Argentine Malbec on the international map in the late nineties. Pablo comes with his own star-studded resume which includes a stint at Catena and connections with more old-vine landowners than anyone else in the region.
Specs
Varietal: Viognier
Appellation: Tupungato, Mendoza, Argentina
Elaboration: Vine training system: Double Guyot. Manual harvest. Fermented in concrete vessels with native yeasts for 22 days at 15 degrees Celsius to preserve aromas. Aged on lees for 4 months
Hector and Pablo were born in Mendoza, the cradle of wine, and were raised together. Their childhood and their home were always connected to a sensorial world, with aromas, ingredients, and flavors that, over time, motivated them to choose the path to become enologists. As adults, they would find these familiar memories and similar passions. Since 2002 they have been dedicated to their project as a small family winery. Today the brothers have evolved to form the new generation of winemakers, leading an evolutionary change in Argentina’s viticulture. With that same spirit, the Durigutti brothers craft their wines and have started to write their own history, a family legacy, in a chosen place where they live and work daily with dedication.

Cracked this open and shared with the Mrs, grandma in law, and sister in law. All have different palates when it comes to wine. Everyone found it enjoyable.
Immediately upon opening from the fridge it was quite sour and a bit effervescent every so slightly tickled the tongue. We got a lot of green apple granny Smith flavor and some floral notes with lemon balm anchoring it.
The aroma would just describe as generally fruity mixed with like fresh picked flower stem if that makes any sense.
When it was open a little bit longer and had a chance to come closer to room temperature We got more mango and pineapple and less sourness. Really pleasant, would drink again.
At this price its worth 12 case. Made the mistake of buying only 6 in the Viognier Chard Duet and wished I got 12 then. Otherwise it will make nice gifts.
Holy Scrutiny, it’s Batman Day! Scrutiny you say? Well let’s see who scrutinized this wine…
Appears Beverage Tasting Institute (tastings.com) did on 3/5/21:
85 Points. Silver Medal. Highly Recommended. Pale golden yellow color. Waxy aromas and flavors of clementine, white flowers, melon, and ginger with a satiny, crisp, dry light body and an even, swift finish revealing overtones of lemon with no oak flavor. A zippy and aromatic Viognier for hot days.

The mysterious box arrived while I was out of town, but the wife was nice enough to take care of it and put it in the wine fridge to rest and cool down.
Ok, here we go. The bottle has a modern label with a composite cork. Once opened and in the glass, the wine has is a pretty, light golden color with a pink/peachy tint.
The nose was very muted with a tiny whiff of alcohol. The wife and a friend said they got a hint of lemon and maybe green apple.
On the palate, it was pretty tart and astringent, even a bit sour. Just like the nose, the palate was pretty muted with a good amount of acidity and a bit off-balladed with minimal, undescriptive fruit. After a while, we all got a good amount of minerality coming through.
I think overall, it was an ok wine that lines up with the price point I now see. Thanks again and cheers!

@connorbush now seeing the price too, I would say it’s totally fair and punches above the price.
