This is a true Mystery Offer - you will receive a Pinot Noir Magnum with a possible vintage 2019 - 2021, with an MSRP between $150 - $165.
Emeritus Vineyards Mystery Pinot Noir Magnum
In 1999, after selling his iconic Sonoma–Cutrer Vineyards, legendary vintner Brice Cutrer Jones founded Emeritus with the goal of making the New World’s finest Pinot Noir, wines with heritage. To achieve this goal, Brice and renowned Vineyard Manager Kirk Lokka planted two remarkable estate vineyards: Hallberg Ranch in the cool, Green Valley region of the Russian River Valley, and Pinot Hill in the Sebastopol Hills region. Totaling almost 150 acres of Pinot Noir and farmed by a year-round 20-person vineyard team, Emeritus Vineyards has emerged as one of California’s most revered winegrowers, recognized for single-vineyard Pinot Noirs of incomparable elegance and charm.
We bottle select wines in large format bottles each year. These bottles are the perfect aging vessels for wine as they slow the development of the wine. Not only do these bottles make any gathering a celebration, they age gracefully much longer than wine in a smaller bottle.

Emeritus Vineyards is guided by the philosophy that great wines are shaped by soil, climate, and people
At Emeritus Vineyards, we embrace the simple, timeless philosophy that great wines are shaped by three fundamental factors: soil, climate, and people. The distinctive soils that our vineyards are planted in allow us to dry farm our grapes, resulting in the remarkably deep root structures that shape the character and complexity of our Pinot Noirs. From there, the cool, foggy climate of our two renowned vineyards give our wines their pure, soaring flavors and elegant and energetic personalities. Last, but perhaps most important, the experience, wisdom and passion of our acclaimed team infuse our wines with their style and spirit, creating Pinot Noirs that are as unique as they are extraordinary.
As a multigenerational, family-run winery, Emeritus is guided by the vision of its founder Brice Cutrer Jones. His daughter, Mari Jones, is now responsible for carrying on that vision. Joining her is an acclaimed farming team led by Vineyard Manager Kirk Lokka, who spent two decades managing Sonoma–Cutrer’s vineyards before joining Brice to help found Emeritus Vineyards. Guiding the grapes into wine is renowned Winemaker Dave Lattin, who has made wine at such distinguished wineries as Merus, Kuleto Estate, Acacia, and Troplong-Mondot. There are many more on the Emeritus Team who have been working together since 1999, when the land was just being readied for planting vines.

@roncunningham
That’s a great point that I didn’t think about when I ordered from bed late last night. I might have to rethink this purchase. @winedavid49 are there options available?
@hscottk@karenhynes@roncunningham@Winedavid49@Winedavid59 No confirmation on options that I’ve seen. The hold option started around June 11 last year and went through end of November. IF that’s in play this year should be soon…and maybe next year fire it up in April or so
@hscottk@kaolis@roncunningham@Winedavid49@Winedavid59
Any chance you would consider holding these for whatever that option might be? Our temps are already uncomfortable (for me) in Chicago. I suspect we are looking at a long, hot summer and I’d really hate to see these get damaged.
I’m afraid not. During these transitional weather periods, we do time our packages to ensure near constant movement. That helps a ton and we have had a solid track record. This years version of protected shipping is coming shortly.
@klezman@rjquillin well mags do have 750 siblings, right? Only three possible bottlings so a bottle or two to report on winemaking style from an unknown producer on CM wouldn’t hurt. Simply thinking outside the box y’all
Is there anything that can be done about shipping damage? Had a bottle arrive with a lot of seepage and the cork partially popped out. Bottle temperature at 82 when it got here.
1x 2019 Pinot Hill West, Sonoma Coast
3x 2021 Wesley’s Reserve Hallberg Ranch, Russian River Valley
The lack of variety is disappointing. Hopefully the bottles are good.

Oh man, on a wine buying freeze but we LOVE Emeritus Pinot… Really solid value here even if it’s all the standard Hallberg Ranch.
@knlprez can you elaborate on why you love these wines? On the fence

Want to buy but can’t risk heat damage on something so pricey. Is there a summer hold option, or add-on for ice pack, etc.?

No rats?
@losthighwayz On a one-day mystery offer? Seems rather unlikely.
@klezman @losthighwayz
Even more so when they are mags

@klezman @losthighwayz @rjquillin
Was about to pull the trigger but realized there may be 2020 bottles. Smoke taint likely unless fruit picked before but not likely
What did everyone get?
'19 Pinot Hill, Sonoma Coast
'21 Pinot Hill, Sonoma Coast
'19 Pinot Hill West, Sonoma Coast
'20 Wesley’s Reserve, Hallberg Ranch, RRV
Nice CT notes on all, and at a substantial savings

@vin314 file a case with customer service.
Also tag @WineDavid59 so he knows this is happening. Summer precautions probably need to start earlier…
@klezman @Winedavid59
Thanks, definitely emailed support. The one bottle was completely undrinkable. Checking the other three today. Overall, just disappointed.
