A few water moccasins during my youth (family vacations on the St. John’s River). And this past spring found this one wrapped up in the netting over our strawberry patch:
Those “Hershey’s Kisses” patterns along the sides are the classic markings of a copperhead. Thankfully, it had already strangled itself in the netting (but I did put a couple of .22 pellets through its head just to be sure before extracting it from the netting.
