Local grocery store by me does closeouts every once and a while. Most of the time we buy a bottle if it seems ok then a case if we love it and can make it back in time before they sell out. We don’t drink much white wine but we buy mostly Chardonnay. Well they had a close out of a decent Chenin Blanc and we tried it. Ended up getting two cases because it was so versatile (and only $7 a bottle). Felt like we could open it up for a cheese plate, or grilled salmon or chicken - almost anything but red meat paired decently. But even beef tacos worked ok with it one night. Was brighter and lighter than an Oaked Chardonnay, slightly heavier and less RS than a Pinot Blanc and less acidic than a Pinot Grigio. My kind of white wine. I personally wouldn’t drink it in the pool, but then again I only drink Cuba libres at the pool…
