The Santa Lucia Mountains rise above San Luis Obispo, dividing our region into Coastal and inland zones. Gaps in this range channel cool Pacific fog and breeze into the interior and result in dramatic climate changes within the space of a few miles. The Grenache grapes for our Rosé were harvested from sustainably farmed vineyards on both sides of the Santa Lucias; the oldest vines were planted in 1971, while the youngest yielded their first crop in the 2018 vintage. All our fruit is hand-harvested and made in a ‘Direct to Press’ style, before cold fermentation in stainless steel, maximizing fruit character and freshness.
Pale pink in color. Expressive aromas of passionfruit and citrus leap from the glass. Classic Provençal flavor profile of strawberry and melon, with a balance of acidity and fruit on the palate. Perfect with summertime meals of garden vegetables, wood-fired pizza, or nearly anything cooked outdoors on the grill.

Named for the rugged headland with sweeping views of the Central California coastline, Fossil Point pays tribute to the bond between sea and vine. Our vineyard sources are all in close proximity to the cold Pacific Ocean and are shaped by the seasonal flow of its surface currents, sea breezes and fog. Our soils are composed of coarse sand and calcareous shales uplifted from the ancient seafloor and weathered into place over millenia. We farm with close attention to our delicate coastal environment always aiming for the highest sustainable quality from our land. Our winemaking is hands-on, small scale, and attentive to the individual needs of each lot of grapes.
Fossil Point wines are crafted for high quality, approachability, and affordability for any occasion. Our ethos reflects the natural ease of Central California’s landscape and the hospitality of our coastal lifestyle.

@Winedavid49 What if I didn’t miss it. I.e. I got some meh, some Onesta, some other stuff I can’t remember. How many cases of rose’ can a person buy? Well, we might be about to find out.
88 Points. A yellowish shade of pink in the glass, this bottling offers tangy lemon peel and just a tiny bit of red fruit on the nose. It’s very tightly wound on the palate, with slight peach and more lemon-rind flavors. MK 9/1/19
I liked it! Strawberries, stone fruit. Refreshing acidity. Effervescent mouth feel. Interesting light salmon color. Went great on the back porch on a warm evening with chicken and spinach pizza, Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Room playlist, and pineapple Dole Whips!!
@KitMarlot In Sonoma County there’s a family business that makes and sells them for events and thru their food truck! They’re called Trader Jim’s!! During Shelter-in-place, they are doing local deliveries! Amazing. They are on FB!
@MSUGOGRN Judging by the numbers-More acidic and higher alcohol, so probably a bit sharper. (North by Northwest is one of my favorite wineries that comes up on here. Every time, I order the max and it gets consumed in fairly short order.) I’ll be curious how you like this.
@Jamileigh17 Thanks for the reply. We are the same with NXNW…max each time. As someone once said…great chill it and kill it wine. Hoping this is as good or close!
The 2017 was a nice beach wine, so I suspect the 2018 would be similarly nice for that purpose (especially for the price). Sorry, wish I took better notes or had a better memory of it than that!
I had a bottle left from my October order of the 2017, figured hey why not open it and say something.
As refreshing as a rosé should be. Nice acid, stops just shy of being a little too much. Crisp, not cloying. Bright and easy to drink. Just a fun light little guy. If I hadn’t snagged a case from meh I would’ve ordered this to replenish my supply for June and July.
I know this is a shot in the dark, but has anyone had this who also had the Vina Robles Roseum Rosé? I got that years ago from w00t and it was one of my favorite summer wines ever. So I was just curious if this is similar.
Some technical info not seen (and some that has) with the offer or in the comments. Very dry grenache-based rose. #WINNER

This is another legit rose’ offer. if you missed the Pedroncelli offer on Meh, this is more than a consolation.

@pmarin @Winedavid49 It isn’t a matter of how much you can buy but how much you can drink.
@Winedavid49 WAIT…MEH HAD PED ON??? NOOOOOoooooo!!! Love their Rose of Zin!

@nccrocker Where’d you get Dole Whips? I thought it was only MN State Fair fare!

@nccrocker awesome. Dole whips are the best!

Got a case. Curious to see how this compares to the King Estate North by Northwest.

So bummed that this isn’t available in Georgia.
In for 2…Quarantine has decimated our cellar. DECIMATED…had about 500 bottles…WAY WAY WAY under that now.
