Gløgg
3Today we went to a Danish Church Julemarked.
There were vendors selling t-shirts printed with runes that spelled out “If you can read this you are a Viking”, and car stickers reading “I am a Man of the North. I fear only Odin and my Wife. You are not either of them.”
While we were there, I had some æbleskiver (Viking beignets with lingonberry jam and powdered sugar), a smørrebrød (an open-faced Viking meatball sandwich), and… gløgg.
And some more gløgg.
(To which I was adding golden raisins, slivered almonds, and dried cherries.)
In addition to the food area, there was a booth selling bottles of gløgg for $29, which to my wine.woot-trained sense of QPR seemed a bit high.
So, has anyone here made gløgg?

No but I would pay good money to have a t-shirt that said
I am a Man of the North. I fear only Odin and my Wife.
My swedish grandpa used to make glogg. It was perfect when you warmed it a little and sipped it if you had a head cold. The aromas would clear your sinuses.
Is glogg all that different from mulled wine? Because I’ve made that before.
Also, excellent story! Perfectly Tim, although it could have used some absinthe!
@klezman
I was also thinking “Gluhwein”.
