In 2006 we created our first two barrels of Pinot Noir - about 50 cases of wine. The fruit came from the Bohemian Vineyard in Freestone just a few miles from Nevina’s Vineyard, the estate vineyard on Willow Creek Road that we purchased in 2011. Having discovered our love of wine together in the 90s, particularly for Pinot Noir, our mission back then was to begin conducting a long term study of how Pinot Noir expresses itself regionally throughout California, particularly in areas influenced by coastal climates. All these years later, it is still our mission. Though we’ve grown gradually over the years, we are still a relatively small operation - we now produce about 2,000 cases annually from as far south as Santa Rita Hills in Santa Barbara County all the way up to Yorkville Highlands in Mendocino county, and many places in between. In 2015 we purchased Graton Ridge Cellars and established another estate vineyard, Graton Ridge Vineyard. This began a new chapter for us by establishing a tasting room and moving all of our operations to our new home just north of Sebastopol at the corner of Gravenstein Highway and Vine Hill Road.
People often ask us where the name Furthermore came from. We like to say that the name alludes to the never ending dialog that we engage in as we explore the ethereal beauty and diversity of Pinot Noir, and how its expression in the glass is easily affected by the place where it is grown and the special circumstances of each vintage.
We’d love to continue the dialog with you - please come and visit us at the tasting room. We can share a glass and maybe even play a game of bocce together.

No questions asked, BUYING. Cause I’ve loved the few dessert wines that came up when I lived in TX and routinely patrolled wine.woot. GIMME with shipping to PA PLZKTHX.
My abject apologies. I was chosen to rat a bottle of wine, but for the same reason I could not make the RPM tour, I will be unable to fulfill the obligation. I will not get home until Sunday afternoon, and be unable to pick up the bottle until Monday. I am sorry.

CAgirl was kind enough to share her rat bottle of the Petite Sirah with me and SWMBO. The initial pop and cork sniff revealed an unexpected aroma of tart red fruit, like pomegranate and cranberry. The first pour was a bit hot on the nose, but the aromas of ripe berries still came through. It was a relatively bright aroma for a fortified wine, a fresh compote came to mind, but with added baking spices. The acidity is balanced, and the sugar level is nice and low, not at all cloying. With a little time the alcohol completely mellows out and leaves just a nice clean wine. This is a steal at ~$11/bottle. I’m curious about the apple wine! Hoping it’ll be available to taste tomorrow at the RPM farewell party
Nom! Yay, thank you for sneaking some dessert wines in, and a fun mix. I actually really love when there’s multiple varieties in a case, it makes it really fun to compare them. (I still want a fuko style grab bag of wine at some point. As long as we can make sure there’s none of that mad ape den in it. shudders)
I wanted him to taste it as he’s definitely more articulate than I in describing the wine. However, I found it to be sweet but not clyongly so. It was very pleasant. I was nicely balanced.
Curious to hear about the apple wine before taking the plunge.
@CAGrl@chipgreen
She didn’t finish it…AJ brought the remainder to Friday night’s dinner. I had a sip. It was good, but no buying allowed given the acquisitions on the tour.
Been overseas for most of the last year, but getting this delivered for my trip home; going to share it with friends and family who’ve had babies recently so we can have a cheer after we meet up.

No MD… this maybe my first caseleg
@jml326 Maybe we can get someone to smuggle us a case or 2 to MD
@Gumby @jml326 Do either one of you ever venture to the Richmond, VA area? I would be happy to grab a case for you.
@Gumby @jml326 @sammypedram
The best way to do it is let them buy it and ship to you, then you know they will be picking it up, haha.
@jml326 @sammypedram I live on the eastern shore, had I seen this sooner, I’d be taking a road trip to Richmond. TY for the offer btw
@Gumby @sammypedram Didn’t bite but I have family in PA. So I can try to use their address and pick up at a later date.
@Gumby You’re welcome. Sorry for the late post! Feel free to keep me in mind for future offers. Take care.
Oooh dessert wine! In for 4!

@CAGrl
Were you still nicely balanced after finishing the bottle?
@CAGrl @chipgreen
She didn’t finish it…AJ brought the remainder to Friday night’s dinner. I had a sip. It was good, but no buying allowed given the acquisitions on the tour.
@chipgreen Hahahaha. That’s what happens when you don’t rally proofread on your phone.
@CAGrl Well, I’m glad you got the joke.
Did you get to go to the farewell dinner?
@chipgreen Unfortunately not… I wanted to, but work stuff came up.
@CAGrl Aww, that stinks.
Purchased a case. All we need now is some meads, lol. I think that might push the traditionalists over the edge, though.
@mb1973
but but but, it’s sooooo good
cold in the summer
warmed in the winter
@winedavid
really need summer mead but later in the year a mixed batch of wine appropriate to mull would be wonderful (and it must have mead)
@Cerridwyn I have been trying to learn to mull. Tell me your secrets
@Twich22
low heat,
quality spices
and it’s not a walk away from thing
soon as it starts to steam - stop
you don’t want it boiling just very warm
practice on plain cider, it’s cheaper and you won’t weep if you ruin it
@Cerridwyn @Twich22 I’ve mulled over quite a few things, through the years. But, I don’t believe there are any secrets to doing that.
@Cerridwyn thanks
