once on a real trial. once called in to room full of potential jurors for multiple cases and then was not needed. next day told to call in and told we don’t need any more thank you.
Got called in once and was selected. I was initially looking forward to it, but then was informed it was a child molestation case and I was the alternate juror, meaning I didn’t even get to sit in on the deliberations and “vote”. On the good side, he’s sitting in jail for the rest of his life (yes, I would have found him guilty).
I got empaneled once, but when the trial started, I realized that I had once closely worked with one of the principals. I hadn’t recognized her, or her new last name, when questioned before the trial. When I brought it to the bailiff and judge’s attention at the first break, I was excused.
