I take care of my father whose blind and had throat cancer that changed his life completely (he can no longer eat or swallow). So vacations are kinda out of the question for me, unless one of you are willing to come and fill in for me?
The girlfriend unit and I head to Istanbul (not Constantinople) in about 40 hours where our intent will be to attend the wedding of her daughter unit. If everything goes according to schedule, it will be about 90 minutes shy of eight days outside the USA, though almost 21 hours will be spent flying above the planet’s surface.
I was off/away last week. Back to reality tomorrow morning.

Four years ago I could have selected that permanent vacation option. Didn’t work out that well at the time.

Went to OR from NY to visit kids/grandkids. Fun
Earlier this month! Counting the days until permanent vacation kicks in. I think it’s around 9,000 left, give or take a few.

We went camping at the state fair. I know that doesn’t sound particularly glamorous, but it’s a lot more fun than it might sound at first.
