@radiolysis funny thing…
UPS was supposed to deliver two (non-wine) parcels yesterday. Nope.
On the truck again for delivery today.
Not yet. Time local 21:57
One requires a signature.
Talked to CS and they’ve extended delivery hours to midnight.
Hope they don’t knock!
@radiolysis@ScottW58 When I talked to UPS CS yesterday, they said they wouldn’t deliver if there wasn’t someone to sign (non-wine sig required). Actually signing may be a different question, but it seems they do want to see a live body.
Yes slowed…out of space! Almost out of and recently out of work but they are sending updates daily, so we’ll see. Worst case I will be at 88% income and Wifey continues to work from home. Can we get an additional 12% discount on all all wines for foreseeable future??!
Mine’s actually increasing because the liquor stores are shut down here and I can’t get booze. So instead of after a glass of wine switching to lower proof mixed drinks, I’m sticking with wine for a second glass. Uhm oops?
@Jamileigh17 Interesting since New York established that liquor stores are considered “essential businesses”. And I read somewhere else did the same. One argument was that if they close then there will be people in withdrawal that will need medical attention. Not sure I buy that argument, but it does seem like it could be argued that telling people to stay home, close businesses and lose income is not the best time to force them to quit drinking.
We’re exactly the opposite. We aren’t able to easily pop into a store and since we’re home we can actually receive deliveries and not have to pick them up! Also maybe it’s just me but the delivery seems a bit faster - took 9 days each to get our last couple of orders. Can’t wait to crack open this Metal Bender at our virtual happy hour tonight.
I am in a condo with a front desk person to receive deliveries, so working from home hasn’t changed anything. But, I just set up a 60 bottle wine rack with a few spots open, so I am glad I just received a case.
Hoping that things continue smoothly and hope everyone stays healthy!
