@jawlz
Except for the Linux and first edition of Win98, mine has been identical (although I also had Vista on a laptop that I rarely used). I’m still slogging along with Windows 7 now but recently purchased a refurb HP with Windows 10 on it that I will be setting up soon.
@jawlz Well, let’s see.
MS DOS
OS2
Windows 3.0, 3.1, 3.11
Windows 95
Windows 98
Windows 2000
Windows XP (alive on a backup laptop until 2016)
Windows 7 (still alive on current backup laptop)
Windows 10
Early this spring I gave life support to an old laptop and reinstalled a clean copy of XP on it. You can still find a work-around to install the last of the updates, and at the time Firefox was still offering limited browser support (no longer as of this month). My thinking at the time was this would a fine TV computer.
So yeah, still using XP.
I only vaguely remember edlin, though I was pretty decent in BASIC. Somewhere stored away I have the original IBM PC we bought with 64K memory, the green on black monochrome monitor and 2 160K floppy drives. No hard drives back then. Ran about $2,000 IIRC. Another grand for the dot matrix printer.
Let’s see: Windows 10, Windows 7, Windows 2000, and Windows for Workgroups 3.11. Nope, no Windows Cairo here.
My OS timeline is (roughly):
There has been some overlap, as well as some use of Windows 2000 and various server editions on a handful of occasions.

@jawlz So my question would be; what is the version stamp on your first MS DOS? 2.2 for circ it was 4.x before the first usable GUI came around.

I’ve changed OS’s as needed.
Still use WinAmp.
@capnjb Does it still have the same start up line? ‘WINAMP! It really whips the llamas ass.’

Still using XP on virtual machines. Just to up the ante, I am still running DOS programs under XP.
@davirom I connect to a virtual XP machine to support a customer running SBT software, which is written in FoxPro for DOS.
[And do you remember Turbo Edlin, with mouse support?]
@davirom I finally got my DOS and Win 3.1 programs running under Win2K 32 bit with the Win2K running as a virtual machine under Win 10 32 bit.
