Seriously, though, it was a limited time thing promised to kickstarters who backed above a certain amount and have always paid the $5 a month (seems like a bargain, but remember, kickstarter and they have–and will–kick you off the second your $5 payment lapses, whether it was intentional or not.)
The answer is you cannot. And if this ever changes I will be the fist person with the pitchfork at WCC and/or Meh HQ.
@kristian They closed the VMP membership long time ago. If you cancel it, you cannot get it back. My investment of $5.00 a month more than covers my wine shipping if I did not have it.
I was a VMP early on. I cancelled after a while. Indeed there was a memo stating something to the effect of “you can sign back up on a per month basis.”
I hope I’m not steering anyone astray here in case all accounts are not coded the same. But yeah, I watch the deals until something comes up that I can’t resist. Go over to meh and get VMP for $5. Buy stupid amounts of wine for a month plus some random shit from meh. Then cancel. All free shipping.
Please, if you’ve done Kickstarter or paid month after month, don’t be mad at me. I’m just offering this up for the community.
@InFrom@kristian This was what I see from 2017. Starting March 1st, we’re turning off sign-ups for VMP, our $5/month membership with free shipping and other benefits on Mediocre sites. We’re going to rethink this whole ‘membership’ thing, and have some ideas we’ll try out soon, but the first step is ending VMP for new customers.
So VMP is no longer allowing people to join, a V symbol. It includes a long list of perks. The K symbol is people who have backed one of the two kickstarters. (Wish I had a K squared). A heart symbol is “membership”. Which also includes free shipping, but from what I can see nothing more. However, I don’t see casemates listed with free shipping. If they are including it great, but you may also have found a bug.
@jml326 I’ve been asking casemates about this for a while. They keep saying that there is a membership button at the bottom of their screen, but there is not (and I’ve pointed this out).
The meh membership does not list casemates at all and I really have no interest in the other stuff they sell. I used to be a member but went through a dry spell of buying and cancelled. For $5, I guess I’m going to give it a spin again.
@Jamileigh17 Yup - 5 case purchases across a year and you’re even. 8 smaller purchases and you’re ahead. Then there’s the other sites if you ever buy there.
What, just hijack a shipment?
That would be free wine as well.
If you have to ask, you can’t afford it…

@KNmeh7 So you’re saying if Casemates wanted you to visit HQ it needs to let others get $5-a-month shipping?
I was wondering if being a not-VMP conferred, but I’m not a not-VMP atm.
/giphy and it sounds like it don’t
/giphy in-a-nutshell
If you want a month of free shipping, just sign up for a month of VMP on meh. I’m honestly surprised that people don’t seem to know this.
@kristian I must have missed that memo. I did get the memo a few years ago closing VMP to new members. That was later reversed?

@kristian When’s the last time you did that?

@danandlisa @InFrom @kristian see my comment below. Membership is not the same as vmp.
Last month. Still going. This has been a good cycle.
Hovering over your screen name, it says you just joined last month. There’s nothing about being VMP.
@kristian Cool, keep buying ALL the wine, with gas prices low, I’ll just drive by and pick up, lol !!

This is why I keep my VMP, despite not buying often from Meh. The wine shipping savings more than pays for itself.

Of course I find this thread RIGHT after starting a new one on this very subject…
I would NEVER have cancelled my membership had I known I would lose out on Casemates shipping indefinitely!
@Lidio I’m in the same boat. I wasn’t going to buy anything for a while so canceled assuming I could go back and no found out that I can’t…
@kristian @InFrom @danandlisa @rjquillin @WineDavid49
So, this was true after all? For how long?
It would be ironic if this was true back in May-June when this was the talk of the town.
@InFrom
Inquiring minds want to know…
@snapster @Dave
@chipgreen @dave @InFrom @snapster just give it to us straight. We’re mostly adults, we can handle the truth.
@chipgreen @dave @InFrom @snapster @Twich22 The irony is not in the truth of the statement, but in the reaction of the disbelievers.
@dave @InFrom @kristian @snapster @Twich22 @WineDavid49
Of which I was admittedly one, based upon what we were told when we got “grandfathered” into the VMP program.
