Aromatics of honeysuckle essence and freshly grated lemon zest. On the palate the rich, viscous mouthfeel is balanced by a lingering acidity with hints of Meyer Lemons and Marcona
almonds.
Winemaker’s Production Notes
Our Chardonnay was fermented in 100% stainless barrels to accentuate the floral aromatics our Domenico Estate Vineyard produces as a result of its ideal growing conditions.
Vineyard Information
The Domenico Estate Vineyard is comprised of nearly 88 acres planted. The otherwise flat basin of the Salinas valley is crossed by meandering dry river beds with clay loam soil deposited by the course of the Estrella River. The cool, damp air from the Pacific Ocean that rushes through the Templeton Gap dissipates just as it approaches the broadly rolling plains at the western border of the Estrella district, resulting in rainfall at the low end of the range for Paso Robles. The open exposure as the sun tracks wide over the valley creates a vast diurnal swing in temperature—up to 50 degrees during the growing season. Our moderate winters and rainless, though often foggy, summers are features of a Mediterranean climate shared by wine regions of Southern Italy, Greece, and the Southern Rhone Valley.
Le Vigne is a 2nd generation family-owned winery located in the heart of the Estrella District AVA on the Eastside of Paso Robles. The winery has operated within the same family since the year of its inception. The property was purchased from country music star “Buck Owens” in the 1960’s, was planted with its first set of vines in 1981, and has been producing wine for over 30 years. The winery consists of two estate vineyards with over 113 acres currently under vine. Owners Sylvia and Walter Filippini believe great wines begin in the vineyard and “Le Vigne” translates from Italian to “The Vineyard”.

Well there has to be some sort of irrefutable note out in the 'sphere right? Right!
tastings.com:
88 points. Silver Medal. Highly Recommended.
Golden straw color. Aromas and flavors of saran wrap peeled off of vanilla pudding, marzipan, toasted seeds on baked apple, and papaya and candied ginger with a satiny, bright, dry light-to-medium body and a tingling, interesting, medium-length finish manifesting touches of cinnamon and nutmeg dusted baked apple, vanilla glazed toasted nuts, caramelized citrus, and baked tangerine with a suggestion of oak flavor. A simple and straight forward Chardonnay; a bit lush in style but should satisfy lovers of both Old and New World styles. 10/11/22
@chipgreen@kaolis@rjquillin I usually skip over the pro reviews but these comments made me look. And reaffirmed why pro reviews are often not so helpful.
@Bob_E@chipgreen I know zippo about this wine…(which is why I’m commenting ha!) but assuming you’re using the common connotation of grocery store wine in a negative sense, there are probably not a ton of single vineyard estate Chards made by a top notch winemaker on the shelf for 10 bucks.
@kaolis Another pro/retail note because you guys and gals can’t get enough of them!
Wine Access:
Medium straw color. Aromas of fresh cut Gala apple, pear, honeysuckle, acacia, hazelnut butter, crème fraîche, and lemon oil. The palate is fresh and juicy, with flavors of orange blossoms, dried apple, almond paste, butter, and honey. The texture is broad, with soft acidity and a touch of creaminess. Appealing to any Chardonnay fan and great for a wide array of dishes. $22. Drink now–2025.
re: my head resembling vanilla pudding…depends on the time of day…
So sorry, no rattage plus i find it hard to take this review seriously. Gonna pass.

@winecatlady I think a few things stand out really well to me (rattage below explains I was pretty stuffy). I got a bit of pear, baked apple could be similar when stuffy. But the light to medium body and tingling finish is spot on. It has a bit of alcohol and acid brighten it up compared to butter bomb Chards. I actually really enjoyed it.
Sorry for the late rattage folks. It may not be the most helpful though as I had a really severe cold with congestion. Needless to say, my ability to taste was hampered.
Here’s what I did note. I picked up oak right off the bat, but hard to say if it’s more present than I could detect. I like a buttery Chardonnay, but this seemed like it wasn’t too oaky and not a super heavy mouthfeel. It did have a very pleasant body, acidity, and fruitiness that I could get. The alcohol was a bit “heavy” on first sip, but again, I couldn’t taste much to start and was only going on sensations. Crisp enough to balance the oak and eventually I picked up some nice pear flavor as well. There are probably a lot more subtle notes in there that I couldn’t pick up. Those are the standouts.
I figured the price would be between $10-$14 and boy did I nail it. At $13, I wouldn’t complain. At $10, I kind of want to buy a case, but don’t feel like I need more wine at the moment.
TL;DR Reminds me of Steele Chardonnay Cuvee if you’ve ever had it. Enough oak to give it some body and roundness, but with a nice crispness to cut through a bit. Very well balanced for the price. It’s a very pleasant drinker for me and probably dangerously so. I kind of want a case as my go-to drinking Chard.
Ready to drink now, or hold for 10 years. Great for old world, and new world style fans. Heavy oak, but you won’t notice. Full bodied and light at the same time. Both complex and simple. Dry - yet sweet. Classic Chardonnay, and unique at the same time. Approachable but not.

@kaolis
Mmm, saran wrap.
Gotta love the intricately detailed notes, followed by “A simple and straight forward Chardonnay”.
@chipgreen I have to admit I too was trying to “wrap” my head around some of that…
@chipgreen @kaolis Your head is pudding!? Vanilla?
@chipgreen @kaolis @rjquillin I usually skip over the pro reviews but these comments made me look. And reaffirmed why pro reviews are often not so helpful.
@kaolis After the whole spiel then “A simple and straight forward Chardonnay”
@kaolis as @chipgreen said …
@chipgreen @kaolis And probably like many I can get at my local grocery store.

I do I like the bottle design…
