Vineyard and Winemaker’s notes
Inspired by the love of music and wine, the Band Blend story began over ten years ago at the Little Family’s home estate in Sonoma Valley where vineyards and music are paired together seamlessly. With an on-site recording studio, and the bands music flowing through the vines, it was quickly discovered that band practice was better with a Little wine. Now is your chance to see Band Blend Live as we take Band Blend on tour!
Band Blend was hand crafted by the Little Family for wine enthusiasts and music lovers to enjoy.
Winery: Little Vineyards
Owners: Joan and Rich Little
Founded: 2002
Location: Glen Ellen, CA
Joan and Rich Little aspired to live in Sonoma Valley, raise a family, grow grapes and one day produce premium red wines. This dream was one step closer to reality in 1996 when they purchased a 25 acre property from the Hanford Family in Glen Ellen. Since that time, they have raised four children, restored the property’s century old farmhouse, planted 17.5 acres of grapes and Rich even found time to make a little music with his bands.Eventually, Joan and Rich decided to blend their wine-growing knowledge with the winemaking expertise of Joan’s brother, Ted Coleman. In the beginning, they experimented with small lots of wine, which received great praise from their family and friends.
In 2002, Joan and Rich began their efforts to establish Little Vineyards as a small bonded winery producing no more than 2500 cases a year. They were approved to crush their first vintage and Ted crafted two award-winning wines from their estate grown fruit: 2002 Zinfandel and 2002 Resonance, a Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon blend.

I bought this when it was offered before. It’s a good every day drinker. If it weren’t for the UPS delivery uncertainty and if I weren’t currently overflowing, I might consider this again.
Happy to get another chance at rattage, given that I missed the delivery last time around!
Screw cap makes for an easy week night pop and pour. First sip has a fruity sweet flavor with a fair amount heat and tannin. Needs air, so ran it through the aerator. That’s better - sweetness has mellowed out and balanced by a pepper. Lots of good flavor that I don’t know how to describe, but not a heavy wine. Has a fruity sweet nose, maybe raspberry? Tried it with some blue cheese which worked better than I thought it would. Seems like it could air some more so I’ll leave some in my glass for a bit, or save a glass for tomorrow.
Day 2 - liked it better today - nice fruit-peppery balance. Realized that it didn’t seem heavy because it doesn’t have a long finish. Wishing I had another glass…
Wow … I hit ‘Edit’ a dozen times or more trying to find a more appropriate giphy image … and this is the only one that felt like it was at least as much about the “joyful” as the “naughty”. (And absolutely NONE of them said anything about “toboggan” … )
87 Points
This medium-bodied wine has ample fruit flavors and a solid, firm texture. Aromas of raspberry and dried plums lead to ripe but not jammy flavors. JG 4/1/19
Im a big fan of this wine and it’s varying selection, in fact I still have a few bottles tucked away.
Upon pouring you see a nice deep dark red glass. First scent is Oaky, reminds me of a white wine, I’m not too fond of it but once the bottle opens up it settles quite a bit and is less prominent.
Wine has mid to high tannins which I appreciate also mid to high acidity.
My wife and I whipped out our scent bottles to identify aromas. We narrowed it down to mild hazelnut undertones, pine and tea for earth notes. Slight Peach hints after swirling the glass around for the fruit side.
This is a great everyday wine worth tasting for the rate they are selling at. I’m definitely in for a few bottles.
@i8dacat — thanks for the review. Can you tell us more about your scent bottles? Where you got them, etc? I’ve always been curious about doing it, but haven’t yet…
@Winedavid49 — do you ever offer scent bottles??? That would be pretty nifty! Maybe that’s the secret gift…???

@vaaccess I purchased the wine aroma kit from Amazon, they can be a bit pricey but my wife and I take drinking wine very seriously just kidding. They’re small bottles with varying scents to help you distinguish certain scents. Xmas is around the corner, this would be a prefect gift!
@i8dacat cool, thanks. Would you mind linking to the item or sharing the brand name? I looked it up a while back and recall varying degrees of quality.
@vaaccess We purchased the Pulltex wine set, looks like it wasn’t purchased through amazon but here is the link Pulltex
Some of the bottles are crystallizing from laying flat over time but a few shakes loosens it up. I suspect over time it will completely crystallize or lose its aromas. Overall we are happy with the purchase
@i8dacat@vaaccess there are quite a few companies that offer these kits. My favorite is a company out of Las Vegas called the nose of wine. They’re not cheap but they’re very very good. Just remember that these are generic scents and do not take into account individual variability.
Hi all, this is Rich Little from Little Vineyards. Our family really enjoys casemates fun and were pretty stoked to be back with you again. We’re having a ton of fun with this Band Blend Live. You can now find it Major Music cities like Nashville and some others with more on the way. Thank you for your support!!

@sallliu I agree, with screw cap wines, you can enjoy day two and three!
@littlevineyards @sallliu indeed!!! But not always - depends on chemistey and make up of the individual wine . . .
In again. Hella good daily drinker.
