@drunkcat agreed! My working hypothesis is that there is basically no such thing as a bad Malbec. (This hypothesis used to extend to Syrah/Shiraz, but I finally got a stinker after many years of “research”.)
Given that the vast majority of wines here will likely be US wines and the vast majority of that will be California wines from small wineries, are there any dynamite Malbecs that @WineDavid39 should investigate?
@corrado That’s actually a great question. I only recently discovered Malbec as my favorite wine so I have no clue. However on the subject of suggestions: https://www.schneblywinery.com/
Has a lot of interesting tropical wines. Wife loves the Avovino one so much we brought home 3 bottles last time we were there.
@rjquillin Yeah, but they way I’ve got this set up, all it showed was corrado’s comment about the Viognier. The one above was hidden, so I didn’t realize you were referencing that one :-p
@corrado I’ve had some good Columbia Valley Malbec, in particular from Cana’s Feast (who are technically a Willamette Valley winery, but source a lot of their grapes from Columbia Valley) and Novelty Hill-Januik (who are in Woodinville, but likewise.)
Argentinean Malbec… I assume…
Gwen Stefani is singing about how she ain’t no Mal-ah-bec guuuurl now. Thanks.
@DrunkCat Gascón? because i’m buying a crate if they have that.
Malbec is yummy and since my girlfriend doesn’t like it, I get to drink her share as well as mine.

@corrado What!? You never opened one of Peter’s?
@rjquillin Peter didn’t make Viognier…El Jefe does, however…
@klezman Malbec “California wines from small wineries, are there any dynamite Malbecs that @WineDavid39 should investigate?”
