2014 Meh Zinfandel Blend
This Zinfandel based blend is a juicy, jam-laden bomb. Explosive flavors of red raspberries, ripe blackberries and red plums are oh-so carefully balanced by a touch of sweet oak and rounded tannins.
2010 Mad Ape Den
This Bordeaux style blend offers ripe fruit with a luxurious texture. The Merlot base creates the foundation for its medium body that lends itself nicely to a multitude of food pairings. The Cabernet Sauvignon brings the richness of such dark fruits as blackberries and blueberries. Dive deeper into the unending layers of this wine and you’ll find the Petit Verdot offers you the velvet soft tannins you’re looking for. Beyond that, you’ll notice the Petite Sirah, though only a small percentage of this wine, is the powerhouse that gives this blend its gorgeous garnet color and long-lasting finish.

@Jamileigh17 Thank you. I was interested in the zin and questionable on the mad blend. Glad to hear I will be saving my $$ for something in the future here.
Hope to hear a couple rat reports! Bummed to hear negative reviews on these, I hope WD will get some fun original bottles like the old woot cellars on here. I’m running out!
I had the Zin in my Remote Party Pack. I really enjoyed it. I will buy more. It tasted a bit like raisins to me. I like raisins so I was happy, but its not everyones cup o’ wine. The description at the top sounds about right.
In all of my combined ww/meh/casemates purchases over the last decade this is the only complaint I’ve ever had. Mad Ape Den is undrinkable at any price point. Frankly I’m surprised/disappointed with casemates for continuing to hawk this. I’ll reluctantly give them a pass for selling this the first time but putting it up again tells me that either they haven’t tasted this themselves or knowingly are selling something that could barely pass for cooking wine. I understand that a company has to make money but be better than this, casemates.
I didn’t particularly care for Mad Ape Den the first time I drank it, but other bottles I opened later were decently drinkable. Not mind-blowing, but at least a palatable table wine. Gonna give it another try.

How much more are you saving by buying a full case?
(Note: Tax & Shipping not included in savings calculations)
Meh Cellars Mixed Set - $20 = 18.18%
@chipgreen However, the actual percentage could be skewed by the fact that the 6-pack is 50-50, but the case is not.
@ddeuddeg Or is it…???
The zin is good, MAD is terrible (Barely transformable into sangria even!). Half this price would be overpaying for these, having had both before.
@Jamileigh17 Thanks. I kept staring at it, trying to decide. If almost half the case would be bad I’ll skip it.

On the main page it says;
But in the Specs above, it says;
???
@chipgreen Oops, thanks, 7 Zin & 5 MAD is right. Making that change now.

@CruelMelody just D’Ontspille Le Black!
@CruelMelody @mike808 Yes! Bring back D’Ontspille!

@adequate_dad Thanks for the warning.
@adequate_dad thanks. regrettable that it was this bad. but glad for the heads up.
@adequate_dad When did Casemates offer this wine before? Not sure how I missed it, and not sure I’m sad.
@Vyntage They were sold on the Meh website, pre-Casemates.
Quit yer belly-aching. Everyone has been whining for a break from all the great case deals. “waaaaa! but winedavid, my credit cards are all maxed!”

No WI so I guess that’s that
Previous offer for the MAD and some decent and thoughtful discussion here , as well as some speculation as to the producer.
@rjquillin Which discussion did you think was thoughtful??
I wasn’t a fan of either of these. We’ve nicknamed the Mad Ape “Pruno” in our house.
@ecue Mmmm, Pruno!
