“Each mystery case includes one bottle of collectable Woot Cellars wine (mainly for display purposes), along with a coupon worth $20, $30, or even $50 toward a future Casemates purchase.”
Beyond that, all bets are off, BUT it might include:
Up to 6 bottles (3 for the half case) of white wine
Likely some Imports
Maybe a bottle of bubbly
Looking like a bottle of Twisted Oak
Some killer wines for some, it’s a crap shoot.
It’s a deep warehouse dive — guaranteed fun with a touch of nostalgia.

@CruelMelody I agree - I just opened my last bottles of Pouracle and Pinkee Swear in the last 16 months or so. I still have 1 original of EHP and 1 Albino Rhino plus a ton of Vintwo del Finto (among other woot cellars remaining that I’m not remembering right now)
@CruelMelody I still have some Monkey Prize 2, Pour Pour Me, Under the Mistletoe, both Finitos, and even a bottle of Polyphemus. I’ve been working through my Woot Cellars bottles, some of which were still very quaffable, but a few went down the drain.
Still hurting from the International Mystery case of swill from a few years ago. Also might be hitting the road on a trip soon so this might not make it. Curious to see what you guys get.
@normanl0@pmarin Agreed. International mystery sucked balls but the last one I got some real winners. I should “know when to walk away and know when to run” but i only have a short term memory.
@normanl0@pmarin@toddlamp that first mystery case was the first and only time i did not directly choose and QA the bottles. it’ won’t happen again. i assure you.
@pmarin well I ordered two cases and really should’ve ordered just the one. So if it comes and is decent, you and the other PNW kids can have dibs on the contents.
How much more are you saving by buying a full case?
(Note: tax and shipping are not included in savings calculations.)
Mystery Warehouse Wine Cleanout Part II - $10 = 9.08%
The coupon is what makes this a super intriguing deal. Worst case, the case works out to effectively somewhere between $4.17 and $6.67 per bottle. That’s like Aldi-level cheap… for significantly better wine.
@vandemusser What if half are whites past their drinking window plus 1 “display only” from the Woot days? I’m interested and while I’m not expecting much, it would be disappointing to have to pour 50%+ down the drain
@roncunningham@vandemusser I doubt they will just be sending out a ton of expired wines, and I’m sure they are all dry so at least use them to make a nice pan sauce if they aren’t up your alley!
@roncunningham@vandemusser I’ve been checking this site for almost every deal, going back to the woot days. I’ve seen @WineDavid49 make the rare mistake (few and far between), but I never recall getting wine past it’s drinking time.
I remember one time, the Nysa Aged Pinot Noir deal, where a few were a bit over-the-hill, but we were warned, that it was buyer beware. And the lame years were sent out to rats as well, I believe. And the ones that were in good shape made the overall deal a fantastic one.
@roncunningham@vandemusser@wardad@Winedavid49 I just finished off the last bottle of that spectacular Nysa deal…not a bad bottle in the bunch. Was fun pulling out an aged Oregon Pinot to shock and awe guests for years!
I was on the fence, but I’m travelling the weekend of estimated delivery. I already got burned by ups with the grenache mystery case when they wouldn’t reschedule my delivery. Sad to miss out
The only mystery bottles I’ve ever purchased, which are few and far between, I’ve either known what it was or had a 99% sure guess, which was the right guess. Annnnnnd not changing my luck here… ha! Good luck y’all
Worth a shot, also one letter away from my order number being decently offensive (although maybe right on the nose for buying a mystery wine offer).
/giphy alcoholic-veritable-boron
@Watermelon_Ice@Winedavid49 what if we order two six packs at once? Or three? Or is it possible to order 2 six packs and a case? Basically what’s the most gaming of the system you’re willing to tolerate?
@Jamileigh17@Watermelon_Ice@Winedavid49
Past experience strongly suggests the CM order processing system will allow a maximum of two, and only two, items be they the full case or the smaller offer. Two, only two.
My last mystery case was decent! I’ve never had one of those super lucky boxes but have generally been happy with the QPR. Plus, I love a good mystery.
I want this so badly, but I’ll be out of town for the shipping dates/expected delivery time frame… I’m especially not sure the UPS warehouse in Tempe, AZ is where I want my wine sitting for an extra week at the end of June
That may appear to be tire smoke, but it’s actually smoke from my credit card after ordering two cases. @Winedavid49@Winedavid59 has destroyed my SIWBM yet again.
Really don’t need it, but decided to splurge and ordered a 2nd case. I guess I don’t need to haul as much wine up from the basement then to fill the new wine fridge.
Checked with my friend and she’s happy to be my address for this. In for a half, esp since my bro really enjoyed the ones I gifted him from the last round. And esp esp since I had the coupon.
Really hoping for a bubbly please. And sweet wines, pleaseplease. And really REALLY hoping the up to three bottles of white is at most only one bottle pleasepleaseplease. And would most of all love to see what a “killer wine” is.
And most of all, hoping I score the $50 coupon for when the hinted-at port sale drops. Ports are sweet, that much I do actually know about wines.
@Drez143@Winedavid59 I liked the feature on the old site that showed how close/far it was to the end of the inventory. And, the flashing sign that it was about to be sold out. Cant you include that on this site?
For a single (widowed) Wineaux living alone among my best bud Bluetick hounds, my cellar is stupidly large and I do not need to add any more bottles. (Ya hear me, self?) That said I’m a collector/gatherer by nature and always enjoy a good deal. I usually don’t like mystery boxes and wasn’t knocked out with the international case- not burned, just not thrilled with my so-so case. The last mystery box was quite fine, though. At any rate, you had me with this one. In for a two case Woot, thank you.
Withered-infamous-doll! That’s entirely too close for comfort! Is my camera on? I can’t believe I just ordered a second case, partly because I couldn’t believe it was still available. I haven’t even moved my case of Obvious Dark and Bold out of my living room yet.
@kawichris650 i’ll answer this a little later. we are conscious of whites not being too long in the tooth. may make an exception with wellington. (a few cases)
Somehow it seemed like one of the longest lasting offers, especially with so many of us buying two cases! I really do wish I could be there to help you pack. It must look like Santa’s Workshop! And especially fun to see any of the old Woot Cellers labels.
@agailb thank you. this has been alot of fun. nice memories indeed. some (most) of those woot labels are so spot on funny and thought through. great team back then.
I have a few stuck to my small Vinotemp! Best one, because it is 3-dimensional, is Quaffmor. Half the label on the outside of the glass door, half inside. Also Triacipidis, Don’tspille Le Black, Vinitwo del Finito, and The Pouracle. There would have been many more, but they were very difficult to remove!
Back then, the whole Woot team was brilliant in their descriptions of absolutely everything! I started Wooting when it began. Thankfully, not so much now!
@margav i have a spreadsheet with every Wine Woot I purchased. I probably deleted all the WW purchase, shipping, arrived WW emails before archiving the Outlook file
@forlich Nice! I just stroll through my woot account using the Stuff You Bought tab. I think I have exceeded the suggested hold times on several of the wines. Oh well, I’ll have to explore those soon!
@margav Thanks for your suggestion. I looked and this was my first ww purchase. July 2006. I also picked up 7 BOC and a lot of unbagged crap along the way.
Sidelight: the mom of a scout in my son’s troop was born a De Lormier, a cousin to the winery family. Probably influenced the purchase.
@davirom Good reason to buy! First one was Armida Winery Poizin & Antidote Trio in Jan 2007. Had to wade through 40 pages of stuff! Still have some Poizin but from a later offering.
I have a file folder of printed out descriptions of assorted Woot offers and used to share them at work. So clever, and so funny! Most of my collection is from 2005, and they still make me laugh. And I didn’t actually buy all of that stuff!
None were from Wine Woot, however. I do remember the first offer, “I Want One,” was for Fess Parker Cellars.
@agailb Epiphany IIRC. Was a fruity wine with a lot going on over the couple hours it took for the neighbor and I to finish. It was the “aha” moment in wine for both of us, that there was so much more to experience.
Anyone else who ordered get their coupon yet? Prior coupons have arrived via email, though it wasn’t clear if this one may be printed with the shipment. Wondering if it went to spam or something . . .
I know this might be problematic (and extra work) but will there be any attempt to prevent overlap if someone orders two cases?
WD said:
Yes, we did a lot better last time.
FYI: My first case had two identical bottles and there was overlap between the two cases.
Also, both cases came with the same coupon code, but the site is only allowing the code to be used once. I think a LOT of people will be needing a different code provided in order to resolve this problem.
The first case was ordered:
May 24th 2025 2:57am ET
The second case was ordered:
May 25th 2025 2:38am ET
The overlap of Torcido is understandable since it was stated each case would likely have a bottle of Twisted Oak. The duplicates of Acoya were from the same case however.
I’m grateful the whites were limited though and none of them were Chardonnay, so kudos to that and thank you! Haha.
did you order 24 or two separate cases at different intervals?
This was a question I attempted to ask earlier as well.
Hopefully those ordering two offers, in one order, will get two coupons; as those ordering two offers, not in the same order, have been told to expect two coupons.
We were careful to make sure people who ordered two cases at the same time got a variety. People who ordered two cases at different intervals there was no real chance to compare the two.
@kawichris650@Winedavid49 It looks like you weren’t the only one to get two of the same bottle within a case – that seems to have happened with @ecue’s second case, below, the red blend at the right in the picture.
Mine showed up today! Thank goodness we got back from vacation last night and we were home to collect it. I don’t see a reveal thread yet. Mine is nearly all reds, but an interesting mix.
Got some cool bottles in mine - the K-2 and Fort Ross sound fancy, and very curious to try the Stoka. That Consumerus brings back some memories. Overall, looks like a fun mystery case and can’t wait to try some of it!
Just got my 2 cases, and not only are they mysteries, but also a surprise as I never saw an email to warn me! So glad I was home to sign for them. Thank you to all who did the work!
I know others have had questions about sending photos, and I still haven’t figured it out, so help?
@agailb If you’re on your phone, turn it horizontal and you’ll see icons at the bottom of the comment box. Pick the moon/mountain one, to upload photos.
Personally I hate entering text here when my phone’s horizontal, so my trick is to first post my comment, then go to edit it and add the photos during the 5-minute editing window.
@agailb@InFrom If can’t or don’t want to use your phone, you can also email the photo(s) to yourself then post to the forum from another device using InFrom’s instructions:
see icons at the bottom of the comment box. Pick the moon/mountain one, to upload photos.
My case arrived this afternoon. I received the $20 coupon, and I’m stoked to get two bottles of Twisted Oak. Overall I’m pretty happy, great ROI on this box IMHO.
Here’s what I received in my Mystery Case [I added price per bottle when I looked them up]:
2013 Woot Cellars CONSUMERUS that’s likely way over the hill (Anyone know who actually produced this wine?)
2018 Twisted Oak Winery Torcido $50
2022 Twisted Oak %@#$! White Rhone Blend $?
2016 Delgado Chardonnay (hope it’s held up) $35
2017 Kelley & Young Alexander Valley Malbec $45
2020 Mazzei Vicoregio 36 Gran Selezione Sangiovese (Chianti Classico) $70
2023 URGENCY Red Wine $20 (Shannon Family Lake County) Despite their price, Shannon Family is typically solid in my experience.
2019/2020 Corpinnat Torelló 2a 19/20 Brut Nature $20
2019 Desert Wind Winery Estate Heritage Series Merlot, Wahluke Slope $45
2022 Cheer Vintage Red Wine Pedroncelli Winery (Does Pedroncelli make a bad wine?) $24
2019 Onesta Golden Vineyard Syrah $30
2019 Château Tasta T de Tasta Canon-Fronsac, France $20
@jct9889@Mark_L Thanks! Interesting, Ron [ RJQUILLIN] said it was still drinking well in 2023, gives me hope. Merlot can go for eons, so might be okay if it’s been well cellared.
@TimW I’m looking forward to the Chianti. I’ve been opening bottles from least expensive/lowest expectations to most expensive/highest expectations. The Chianti might be the last bottle I try
@dawnlac Mine still don’t have a tracking number but one was delivered yesterday and one is coming today. Make sure you sign up for a UPS account. They give updates with CM doesn’t.
The oldest wine I’ve ever had (many years ago) was a 1991 Wellington Merlot and it didn’t taste anywhere near its age. I’m assuming that Victory will be drinking beautifully.
Word of advice… Make sure to use a durand or an ah-so to carefully remove the cork and hopefully it won’t crumble into pieces.
@jsr914 Oh my, enjoy that!! I’m hanging on my last remaining Victory vintages (2x 2012 and 2x 2013). My best gem (1991 Wellington Zin) came in a mystery case. Congrats!
Case number 2 has arrived. Very happy with this as well. Very good value. Got two Christmas wines though. Glad I got bubbles this time. Sparkling wine from the Champagne region of France! I got the same $20 coupon with the same code. I’m hoping I can use it twice!
We got Sunny with a Chance of Flowers from the store about a month ago, funny to see it popping up here. It was pretty fine enough but not worth buying again.
@wardad@Winedavid49 I read that it was originally going to be for cattle, but the altitude was too high for them. I’m really going to treasure this offering. How and when was it offered on Casemates?
My case. CT value $265, solid if not spectacular. Most interesting is the Argentinian sparkling which the label says is 18% abv and 8.5 g/l rs. I wonder what brix they started with to end up with those numbers
@user48745965 You may be right. The first 1 is overprinted on the C. I did some web searching and found bottles being sold as 12.5% / 7.9 g/l and 12.8% / 7.51 g/l. It’s NV so there is no way to compare.
@danidani12 Rieslings often can go a decade or two or even three. I’ve got a couple in magnums that I’m not touching until 20 years after vintage. Yours might be over the hill, but it might be plenty young.
Didn’t get any of the super-premium bottles, or coveted old vintage Wellies, but as a VolMod y’all might think something hinky if I did.
A nice selection, no dupes and only a couple I already had in the cellar.
Well done @winedavid59

I can’t get the pictures to come up from my Samsung phone (tried all morning). My wine woot selection is 2001 Reboot North Coast brut. I also received a bottle with no label. Guess I really received a mystery.
@danandlisa
That likely may a shiner from Swilly.
Pretty sure I recall an offer from him where some went out that way.
No capsule and is there a dot on the cork?
@danandlisa I just did a quick scroll through this thread and there are actually very few pictures that include a white capsule. Depending on whether the wine is red or white or pink, you may be able to figure out the winery from the shape of the bottle.
@danandlisa It’s more likely than not that this bottle holds the greatest wine ever made and the relentless unfulfilled longing for just one more taste will consume you for eternity. Happens to me all the time.
Here in the PNW. Case 1 arrived 6/4 and Case 2 arrived 6/5. Only dupes were in case 1 which contained two Onesta Syrah’s (which I am totally fine with). Each came with the $20 coupon, same code.
A very interesting mix, and I’ve had none of these particular bottles before! I had not heard of Quarts de Chaume, but I am quite fond of both Vouvray and botrytised wines. I also remember being pleasantly surprised the first time I had a well-aged Riesling, so I’m looking forward to the 2013. The 2002 merlot is one of the older wines sent out, it seems (though not a 1994 Victory Reserve!), and the sparkler is a “light” sparkling wine, 5% ABV - definitely have not had one of those before!
@wineyooper Wow…the 2002 Merlot is nice, but the Quarts de Chaume is where its at! That stuff is wonderful and it ain’t cheap…my guess is $100+ for that bottle!
Awesome mix. 10 reds, highlights including 3 WineSmith(2 2019 Unicorn 1 2016 Cabernet Frank), a 2012 Chateau De Vie Cabernet Sauvignon.
Only 1 rose—Pebble Lane and 1 Spanish white.
Looking forward to trying them. $20 Coupon will be put to good use.

Nothing too amazing but most all solid. Only one dupe, Torcido, which I’ll take! Even the three or four I’m skeptical about are interesting. And the Woots might be drinkable? No pic because we’re in the middle of a kitchen remodel and there is literally nowhere to “stage” them.

I’ll have to post mine a little later. I only really looked at the wine in the first box. We’re doing major projects for parties so I haven’t had time to delve into the second box other than to see that I had a repeat Pinot I’m not mad at and the second coupon.
I can’t see anything so far that is terrible. I definitely have a few that I’m super jazzed about. I also got a $50 voucher and a $30 voucher so it’s a win win all round!
@keili30 You got a nice mix! Pull all the corks, eventually, and remember what you drink. That’ll help you figure out what you want to learn more about next time around.
@keili30@klezman@Winedavid49 - I tease…but there’s a whole new generation of Case-mates who weren’t there for the Magical History Tours or the wonderful long threads on wine tasting which were the heart of WineDavid’s Wine.woot.com!
@keili30@rpm@Winedavid49 a pole I deserved anyway. I’ve been spreading that wisdom for years at this point, usually with attribution. I have a PhD, after all.
Interesting case, pretty good value. Looking forward to 11 of them . Who made the adequate gift? There was a sheet with producers but that one predates my Woot time
@chipgreen Happy with the case; the urgency cab was a popular filler but I found it way to sweet. And the diet chard is probably not a fave. I think the Ft Ross and the Mira Pinots will be nice.
Full up already so just dipped my toes with a 6. Nice variety; the Trahan seems the most niche. Should I try to drink a 2014 Cava? Thank you Casemates!

My 6 pack is still somewhere on the way (It shows delivered, but my building’s desk “can’t find” it right now. The Friday people are notoriously bad at putting boxes where they belong and Saturday’s afternoon crew often find them, magically.)
But my 12 pack got here.
along with a $20 coupon. I was hoping for more white or fizzy than just the one white, but oh well. I mostly got this so we can have wine on hand for family get togethers we’re hosting this summer/fall, so this isn’t a bad haul for that. Hoping my 6 pack shows up soon.
I’m a bit irked about the coupons so I would like to provide unsolicited feedback to @Winedavid49
Case price was 100 with 20 coupon
Six pack was 60 with 20 coupon
I would’ve been better off ordering two six packs instead of a case.
Moreover, isn’t it more expensive to ship two six packs instead of a case?
I assumed (my fault) that six packs would get a 20 coupon and cases a 30 coupon with the 50 coupon being a Random one for either (this is what made logical sense to me)
That being said, I’m happy with my case selection. Great QPR IMO
@kawichris650@losthighwayz@Winedavid59 i would hope if we ordered two cases we could use two coupons? Otherwise, I probably would have only ordered 1 case…
I got an interesting mix. One white and one rose which I’m happy with. An Argentinian Malbec, and a French Mallbec. Also a Walla Walla Zin. France does not spring to mind when I hear Malbec, and yes, I know that’s where it originated, and I don’t think Walla Walla when I hear Zin. Also got the Twisted Oak Torcido and a $20 coupon. Guess I should find out how to use a paper coupon when ordering on line, but I really do not need more wine.
@mew5280 Somehow my comment went missing (user error!). Thank you casemates crew for the mystery case! Love what I know and look forward to those I don’t know. Cheers
@kainc I will give you a heads up. That @rose is crazy sweet. The fruit finish is amazing but I had to add acid and turn it into a cocktail because the sugar was way too strong for my liking. It was borderline dessert wine.
Love that randomness. I was hoping I would get 3 bottles of white. I did not get 3 bottles of white. I did get two bottles of Woot holiday/specified and a split of a Pinot. Super fun, wish I could have requested a white vs red heavy case. But fun none the less.
Three whites: Italian Sauv Blanc, French white blend, Sonoma Chardonnay, one woot consumerus holiday wine. A twisted oak Torcido, 2 Malbecs, 1 Chilean blend, a few California reds – overall a good mix! I only wish I would have gotten some questionable sparkling… and $20 for the future.
@nwalls2009@Winedavid49
The video is no longer available, but it involved Fat Gus, and bottle of Phat Goose, and a tub. You can get a pretty good idea here:
@karenhynes@nwalls2009
Hah, yea it was a rare time we did not move all of the woot cellars on the first offer. The dude in the tub was a campaign to move some on the second offer. It was hilarious if not kind of gross. Haha!!!
I used one of my $10 coupons from the day Meh and SideDeal both had wine, and got a fun variety of wines to try plus a $20 coupon:

I can’t get the image upload to work (I get an error that the image I uploaded isn’t an image?) but I’m happy with the variety. I was surprised to see they were mostly reds but not disappointed. Most of my friends prefer to stick with reds, so I’ll have plenty to share for the next several weeks of our Saturday board game nights.
@Winedavid49 already have – they’ve been loving the Dragon Ridge wines from my last purchase! (And I have too – I’m just not as picky about my wine color as they are.)
My 6 pack came today, I’m very happy to see both a fizzy and a Twisted Oak white wine in there. Less happy about a second of the $20 coupon (Hopefully both can be used on the same account? I know there was some chatter upthread about this, but I haven’t kept track if that’s been solved yet)
@kray05 I think the Mira Pinot and the Tenvta Belgvardo are the big hits and of course the Pinkie Swears which was actually 2 years before I started buying from here
So, not exactly the fantasy team I’d put together over the past few days of watching everyone else unpack, but a 90-buck Malbec does pique my interest. I’ll have to do a @kaolis-style dive into some of these wines, to find out what their redeeming qualities are. Oh, and I received a $20 coupon.
@losthighwayz Lol, compared to what I’m seeing elsewhere, I have to confess that I’m a little disappoint. Just realized that my “$90” bottle of Malbec is really only $25 in CT – the one discussed above is the Reserva, mine is not. But whatever, even if the majority of them look to be low priced, there are a few interesting bottles in the mix.
@InFrom@losthighwayz we paid essentially a little more than $8 per bottle. In my opinion, everyone that has posted has gotten significantly better value than what they paid.
Do I wish there was an old Wellie in my box, or a $50 coupon? Sure. But I got some really cool one-off bottles I would never have had the opportunity to experience other than through this sale. I don’t want to gauge my happiness on how well I did compared to others… that’s always a losing proposition.
@losthighwayz@vandemusser 100% agreed, the aggregate value is greater than what I paid. And while I would have loved receiving a really special wine, or a bigger coupon, that’s not where it falls short for me. I recognize that it’s entirely on me – I bought in, knowing that there were decent odds that I’d get some perfectly nice wines that would not be my personal preference. Bold, young reds are just not something I drink much of nowadays (an understatement) and my storage space is limited. I’m not carping about the fairness of the deal, just reacting in terms of my own personal taste. Notwithstanding that I’m breaking the cardinal rule of not coveting my neighbor’s wine assortment, I see a bunch of inexpensive bottles other people got that I’d be very happy to have. But them’s the breaks.
The lesson I’m taking from this is that at this point in my life, I need to stop gambling on these mystery boxes! WD serves up plenty of great values from wineries that I know will deliver (like the Bonny Doon and Noceto deals I bought recently), as well as things that are interesting and new to me. I’ll stick to those.
@InFrom@losthighwayz@vandemusser
Agreed it’s hard not to covet others cases. Mine is fine too and can’t contest the value proposition. It’s very true that there were wines delivered that would not otherwise be in my shelves ; and that’s a good thing. Cheers!
@TimW Though the 2016 Hawley O.V. Zin sold here for $12.50 (case price), and the 2017 for $10 (both with favorable reviews from trusted Rats). From the perspective of a longtime Woot/Casemates customer who’s been spoiled by bargain prices, it’s hard for me to think of it as being a $40 wine. That’s not to say I won’t enjoy it.
No question that there are some nice wines in the mix. I also got a few I doubt I’ll ever open.
Did anyone else order two cases and get the same coupon twice? I tried reaching out to support but they are not understanding the problem and I feel like I’m being rude.
@CruelMelody
Yes. I believe many people received duplicate coupons and the site is only allowing one use per account. @Winedavid59 is aware of this. I’m hoping Casemates will provide a replacement code, but as of now we are all stuck waiting for a resolution.
@jcporambo33 Did the 12th bottle get consumed immediately?
I’m all about the oddities, unique, and “rare” varieties, so the bottom row has some interesting ones. I really have enjoyed all of the Anne Amie i’ve had (and i still have a case of mixed vintage Riesling) but i don’t think i’ve had their Muller-Thurgau. Fun stuff to try!
Sixer just arrived – luckily wasn’t too hot today as I’m always end of the route it seems actually why I almost didn’t order this one and pretty sure I was one of the last. Glad to get another TO and $20 coupon though! Also excited for the summer hold option now – I actually speculated if the warehouse cleanouts were in prep for CM possibly starting some kind of storage option, and here we are!
2015 Verrazzano Rosso Toscana
2013 Woot Cellars Consumerus
2018 Twisted Oak Torcido
2021 Dragon Ridge Red Blend
2013 Château Rives-Blanques Le Limoux
2022? Le Vigne Winery Cuvée Speciale Blanc de Blancs Méthode Champenoise (no vintage just faint timestamp on the glass)
I think that the money I saved on my two fabulous Mystery Cases just went toward a Durand opener! Used it last night on a Ty Caton Merlot 2008, and probably didn’t need to, but I do have a stash of Wellingtons.
So thank you to whomever mentioned it regarding that bottle of Wellington’s Victory on day one of the deliveries!
@kawichris650 It’s definitely a beautiful tool. I may even try it on that last bottle of D’ONTSPILLE LE BLACK! A whole new world of unbroken corks awaits.
And while I’m here, which image do I use for a regular response? The quotation mark (Blockquote)? Sorry, still new at this.
@agailb
The icon of an arrow pointing left is what you click/tap on to make a regular reply. It’s between the star icon and the whisper icon.

I was really worried when I saw the box, which had a corner that obviously took the brunt of a drop. But inside was just fine. My haul, with some research:
2014 Carrucci Grenache Murmur Vineyard - $38
from Wine Enthusiast–“The aromatics on this bottling are stunning, with elegant and fresh layers of violet, boysenberry and black raspberry. The sip is tightly woven and graceful, with tart black-raspberry fruit and white pepper leading into a lengthy finish that’s supported by slow-rising tannins. This will evolve well in the years to come.”
My take–I like black raspberry, I like the sound of graceful and a lengthy finish. Sounds like not as dry.
2013 Woot Cellars Presents Consumers Holiday Red Wine - $??
couldn’t find a site review. Consumers’ comments are all over the board. Some say jammy, some say not jammy. Black cherry, strawberry, herbs, woods, spices, about the only thing I didn’t see was sand. Only thing they all agreed on was it’s aged well.
My take–can’t be as bad as the Night Train Express I once tried…
2022 Bottled Cheer Red Wind Blend - $??
again, no site review. I’m sure y’alles know this one anyways.
My take–my big bro enjoyed the bottle I gifted him, I didn’t dislike the one I opened but ended up adding Sprite. So I’m not thrilled I got yet another bottle of it. Sigh.
2022 Urgency Pinot Noir - $13-$20
Elma Wine–“TASTE: Bright red fruits, juicy plums and white pepper spice; PAIRING: hearty cheese, rabbit pappardelle, and mushroom risotto”
My take–I did find a liquor store that lists it as semi-dry, so I strongly suspect the Sprite will flow freely into this one, after I’ve given it a fair try.
(and now the ones I’m most excited about!!)
5) 2020 The Path California Moscato - $11
Of all places, Macy’s Wine Shop!!–“a wine that sparkles with a delightful balance of fruit and floral flavors; opens with a tropical bouquet of sweet apricots, lychee, peaches, and orange blossoms. Sweet Meyer lemon and honeysuckle notes develop on the palate, leading to a soft and refreshing finish. Sourced from California’s prime grape-growing regions, this Moscato benefits from the state’s abundant sunshine and extended growing season. Enjoy this exquisite wine on its own, or pair it with passion fruit cake, lemon cupcakes, or fresh fruit parfait for an elevated tasting experience.”
My take–even I know that Moscatos are a nice sweet sparkling wine, plus I like all the flavors ascribed to it. I also like lemon cupcakes!
Dancing Vines Lightsecco, Low Alcohol Sparkling Wine (no year, but the spinner on the neck claims “First time in the US”) - $12-$28
Again, no site reviews. The best I found was from Liquor Freight who said “delicate bubbles, a light-filled flavor, and a wonderful aroma. It’s one of the freshest sparkling wines you’ll ever drink.”
My take–it’s very organic. VERY thus. However, even if I don’t like the wine, the bottle is about the prettiest one I’ve seen!! So I’m super pleased to get it!!!
I’d appreciate y’alles’ thoughts on my group, since you’re far more knowledgeable about wines than am I. Did I get any good ones? Did I get one of the “killer” wines? I only got two whites, so that’s good in my book. But no Twisted Oak, so maybe not good? And I did get that dupe, so meh there.
Oh–also, are there any I should drink right away? Or can they all nestle in their box, stored in my basement, for when I decide “Oh hey, let’s try that bottle of…”?
@SylvreKat Don’t sit on the 'secco sparkler for too long. Especially “organic,” low-alcohol, and in a clear bottle; it could skunk within a few years.
The 2020 Moscato should not be a sparkling wine, by the way. Sparkling wines generally don’t come in bottles like that, and sparkling Moscatos are generally done in the demi-sec style. This should be a semi-sweet wine, not as sweet as Port, but more like a German Riesling. I could be wrong about this (if I am, let me know, but I’m 95% sure I’m not). This one should keep in a cooler place for quite a long time.
Your box was 50% the same as mine, and similar value-wise. I’m definitely keeping an eye out for that Port offering as well. That will be a case purchase for me.
With up-thread comments and questions on the Consumerus, I Coravin’d a bottle and found it doing quite well for a 12 year post vintage bottle. Tasting again now I find some nice fruit remains, almost sweetish but fruit I think and not RS, with nicely resolved tannins if a bit short finish. For me, I can easily hold, but looking at your comments you may want to short-list it.
@chipgreen Good variety:
2018 Twisted Oak Grenache Torcido
2023 Shannon Ridge Urgency CS
2018 Twisted Oak River of Skulls
2012 Woot Help Yourself CS
2021 Slingshot CS
2022 Villa Marcello Prosecco Brut
2021 Durigutti Viognier
2018 Onesta Syrah
2020 Monte Chiaro 345 Chianti RSV
2022 Gentlemen Farmer Pinot Rsv
2021 Jana Tickle Me Pink Rose
NV Gruet Brut Champagne Style
No complaints (unusual for me, I know).
@jmdavidson1@winedavid59
Yes, he has always been a standup guy. I have done my share of bitching and moaning (still doing it, haha) but it’s because I care about the wonderful community he has created here and previously at WW. It feels like family and if you can’t bitch and moan at your family, who can you bitch at?
(Also, I hold firm in my beliefs that Pluto is a planet and that it’s acceptable to end a sentence with a preposition!).
Oh! So they may let me swap the Cheer for one more mystery bottle?? Yes? Yes?? Pweez??? (she asks hopefully)
And Pluto technically IS still a planet. As has been pointed out, 4% of ANY voting body does NOT constitute a quorum. Therefore said vote in which 4% of the voting membership of the Astronomical group voted Pluto to no longer be an actual planet did so in violation of their own rules. Plus it only fits the definition of dwarf planet 'cause they wrote it specifically for Pluto; otherwise, it’s very unlike any of the other dwarf planets, too.
@chipgreen@Winedavid59 Opened the 2020 Monte Chiaro 345 Chianti RSV. One of the better chiantis I’ve had. This should be a casemates. It also passed the critical review of +1.
Welp, UPS is at it again. Delivering a very obviously damaged, opened and resealed box, removing 1 bottle, for whatever reason, and delivering 11 bottles without any notice, I guess, assuming I cannot count to 12
#12 was a white Twisted Oak *%€@! Was NV but still very good. Some in bolognese, the rest in our glasses.
Always fun to see what everyone got in their cases.
I gifted the kids, a six pack:
16. Annie Amie Dry Riesling
19 Onesta Cinsault
NV Sauvage Rose
Urgency
Consumerus
21 Dragon Ridge
There’s something about free that tastes better. Maybe a secret spice?
@losthighwayz the others are not bad, but these four made the case. I even sent an email to Paul Gusto, the head of Highway 12 now. He set me up with a great visit in 2007. They were just a few guys at that point.
@Polarbear22 Nice haul! That 2008 Woot Cellars brings back some serious nostalgia—always cool when a bottle holds up that well. The Highwayman Reserve and Laura Michael sound like solid picks too; I’ve had some good surprises from both over the years.
Funny timing—I was sipping something from my own stash the other night while waiting on my order at one of the nearby Sonic Locations. Not exactly a wine pairing, but hey, nothing like flipping between a Zin tasting note and the Sonic Drive-In menu for a bit of contrast
Enjoy cracking into those bottles—you’ve definitely got some gems in there!
Mine just arrived. Hilariously, one of the wines inside was something I bought, and one was one of the ones I ratted.
Here’s the list. Some of the pricing was pulled from previous posters in this thread:
2013 “Woot Cellars Consumerus” Red Wine Blend
($Priceless. Maybe. Let’s check back in a decade.)
2022 “Bottled Cheer” Red Wine Blend Bought this last year on Meh, it was cheap and decent.
($8-10 on Meh/SideDeal)
2019 “Avivo” Vermentino
($8-11 on Casemates, $12+ elsewhere online) You can read my rattage of it here. You’ll probably enjoy it if you like humor.
2018 “Desert Wind” Ruah
($6-8 on Casemates, ~$13 elsewhere online)
2022 “Urgency” Pinot Noir
($13-20 online)
“Bourgeois - Boulonnais” Vertus - Premier Cru Champagne
($40-60 online)
And a $20 coupon. Looks like a got a relatively cheap box compared to some other people, but hey, it’s still worth more than I paid so I’m alright with that. In fact I kind of regret not getting a 12-pack.
Those that got the 2016 Delgado Chardonnay, I’d drink it ASAP, it’s barely hanging on. It’s not terrible, but it’s not great either, it’s definitely on its way out.
2023 URGENCY Red Wine - Opened this tonight, it’s a bit effervescent, rough, hopefully it’ll be better tomorrow night?
2022 Cheer Vintage Red Wine Pedroncelli Winery - The was meh, quite disappointing as Pedroncelli has always been solid in my experience.
2019 Onesta Golden Vineyard Syrah - So far this is the standout. Once it opens up, it’s quite good.
@RedwineO Mine was cooked. After the first night, I re-corked it thinking perhaps it would improve, and the next day the cork about blew off like it was a bottle of champagne, and it taste terrible. I opened a replacement request.
Hooray! Two Woot wines (Consumerus 2013 and Mad Ape Den 2010) and two bottles of the Casemates equivalent (Cheers 2022) and a heck of a lot of good wines (I got two cases)! Thanks to Woot and Casemates for filling my cellar with wine and my heart with joy!
Pretty pleased with the Brunello alone and honestly happy with just two whites. Great box! Here’s everything:
Fort Ross Mother of Pearl Chardonnay 2021
Carucci Chardonnay 2020
Woot Cellers Consumerus 2013
Twisted Oak Torcido 2018
Tra Di Noi Brunello 2019
Beau Vigne Romeo Cab Sav 2022
La voja Pinot Noir
Galactic Stellar Manifestation 2022 (x2 only double)
Deerfield @pinot 2021
Rock Hollow E11even Petit Sirah 2021
Loma Larga Rapsodia 2012
@rjquillin Yup - I put that, the Brunello and the GSM aside, the rest will be in rotation, starting with the Rapsodia, we’ll see if that’s any good still!
@klezman I have not been able to find out who made it…and I’m away from home right now so I can’t check the bottle. I’ll try to remember to look on the label when I get home.
Late to the party but wanted to contribute. Shipping was quite fast, have just been lazy getting pictures (and from an old phone so they’re not great).
This has been such a fun buy and thread…love seeing what everyone got in their cases almost as much (maybe more?) than opening my own mystery case. Thank you @Winedavid59 for overseeing this and making it fun!

@CruelMelody display purposes? Pfft that’s the first one I’m gonna crack open
This is like an IRK, but drinkable and less of the “R”. #gotone

Still hurting from the International Mystery case of swill from a few years ago. Also might be hitting the road on a trip soon so this might not make it. Curious to see what you guys get.
@pmarin Same. No more mysteries for me. From now on, I buy my wine like I buy my women…wait…that’s not what I meant.
@pmarin I have felt the same way, but the March mystery case redeemed the mystery case for me, and I think I will have to bite again.
@normanl0 @pmarin Agreed. International mystery sucked balls but the last one I got some real winners. I should “know when to walk away and know when to run” but i only have a short term memory.
@normanl0 @pmarin @toddlamp that first mystery case was the first and only time i did not directly choose and QA the bottles. it’ won’t happen again. i assure you.
@pmarin well I ordered two cases and really should’ve ordered just the one. So if it comes and is decent, you and the other PNW kids can have dibs on the contents.
@pmarin @toddlamp @Winedavid59

Couldn’t help myself and ordered a second case, I hope I don’t regret it

@KNmeh7 I dare not hit edit. Is that a woot monkey?!? I don’t know where mine is; I think a dog thought the screaming was too much.
Can we get some port up in this beotch??
@toddlamp not this deal, but a cool port deal soon.
@toddlamp i have almost that entire case of Wellington left…
@LincolnMics Ugh, you are so lucky. I am down to one bottle which is why I’ve got port on my mind
@Winedavid49 I will be anxiously awaiting that.
Does the six pack come with coupon or just the full case?
@davidj94112 sixer does as well.
@davidj94112 @Winedavid49
Do you get two if you buy two in one order, rather than splitting into two orders?
The coupon is what makes this a super intriguing deal. Worst case, the case works out to effectively somewhere between $4.17 and $6.67 per bottle. That’s like Aldi-level cheap… for significantly better wine.
@vandemusser What if half are whites past their drinking window plus 1 “display only” from the Woot days? I’m interested and while I’m not expecting much, it would be disappointing to have to pour 50%+ down the drain
@roncunningham @vandemusser I doubt they will just be sending out a ton of expired wines, and I’m sure they are all dry so at least use them to make a nice pan sauce if they aren’t up your alley!
@roncunningham @vandemusser I’ve been checking this site for almost every deal, going back to the woot days.
@roncunningham @vandemusser @wardad I mean, I opened a 2013 Wellington chardonnay this evening that is simply delightful. We’ll be okay.
@thinksno16
It seems Peter bottled his white wines from the fountain of youth haha.
@roncunningham @thinksno16 @vandemusser @wardad i have a good amount of the early vintage Wellington Chard. i agree it’s still very interesting. didn’t make this cut, too risky.
@Winedavid59
But do you have any D’ontspille Le Black available?
I regretfully missed out on that offer and it truly hurts because so many people rave about that one.
I’m honestly grateful for all of Peter’s wines I’ve been able to enjoy, but D’ontspille Le Black is “the one that got away.”
@kawichris650 i haven’t seen it yet. i have one, but it will remain in my office.
@roncunningham @thinksno16 @vandemusser @wardad @Winedavid59 Might be fun to offer it as a ‘Buyer Beware - As Is’ sixth or twelveth bottle in a variety pack.
I know I’d take the risk…
@kawichris650 @Winedavid59 I think I still have one last bottle of that.
@coynedj
Ooooo, perhaps we should share it sometime when you’re in town?
@roncunningham @vandemusser @wardad @Winedavid49 I just finished off the last bottle of that spectacular Nysa deal…not a bad bottle in the bunch. Was fun pulling out an aged Oregon Pinot to shock and awe guests for years!
I was on the fence, but I’m travelling the weekend of estimated delivery. I already got burned by ups with the grenache mystery case when they wouldn’t reschedule my delivery. Sad to miss out
I opened up a bottle from the las mystery case the other day, and it was outstanding. Don’t need this, but what the heck…
/giphy glamorized-miniature-rest

Hmm, it seems I have a problem. It’s one that can only be cured with a box of mystery wines (and a coupon).
@ebrat250855 or more cowbell.
Can we expect some UC bankruptcy bottles?
@losthighwayz maybe a few.
Case purchased. Suckered in again. When will I learn?
@jmdavidson1 never. Same here though lol
@jmdavidson1 @losthighwayz
@jmdavidson1 @losthighwayz
/giphy perfumed-understanding-magician

I should not be buying more wine, but couldn’t pass up this deal. Hoping for some bubbles! Have a great weekend everyone!
Ah, why not? In for six. I’ll find some place to put it?!
Who doesn’t love a good mystery box… in for a case.
/giphy nutritious-latest-door

/giphy uptight-halting-sugars

Do I need it? No. Is it in the budget? Also no. Did I just go in for one anyway? Absolutely.

Who was I kidding?

/giphy distasteful-heartsick-mango
we were quite pleased with the last mystery case. in for another.
/giphy harmful-grumpy-sponge

The only mystery bottles I’ve ever purchased, which are few and far between, I’ve either known what it was or had a 99% sure guess, which was the right guess. Annnnnnd not changing my luck here… ha! Good luck y’all
Fingers crossed for some good bubbles, but if not, I’m sure it will still be worth it.
Got six

/giphy nondescript-gawky-screwdriver
Worth a shot, also one letter away from my order number being decently offensive (although maybe right on the nose for buying a mystery wine offer).

/giphy alcoholic-veritable-boron
/giphy loony-elaborate-wall

Couldn’t resist.
Just confirming if we order more than one case, we get a coupon for both per the description? If not, I’m going to need CS to help me cancel one.
@Watermelon_Ice @winedavid59
This was also asked up-thread and remains a mystery…
@Watermelon_Ice
Correct. One per case
@Winedavid49
I know this might be problematic (and extra work) but will there be any attempt to prevent overlap if someone orders two cases?
@kawichris650 yes, we did a lot better last time.
@Watermelon_Ice @Winedavid49 what if we order two six packs at once? Or three? Or is it possible to order 2 six packs and a case? Basically what’s the most gaming of the system you’re willing to tolerate?
@Jamileigh17 @Watermelon_Ice
Try your best. I have no idea.
@Jamileigh17 @Watermelon_Ice @Winedavid49
Past experience strongly suggests the CM order processing system will allow a maximum of two, and only two, items be they the full case or the smaller offer. Two, only two.
@rjquillin @Watermelon_Ice @Winedavid49 Ah, right. I’ve been spending more time on meh than here. Thanks!
/giphy fine-minimum-robin

Why not, I’m in

@bigjajapoof
I’m in for 2. I shouldn’t be, but I am.

/giphy swanky-exponential-barium

/giphy majestic-overjoyed-scotch

Woohoo Got a Case! Based upon all the comments there must be a lot of wine to clear out!

/giphy incandescent-maladjusted-fire
Checked with my friend and she’s happy to be my address for this. In for a half, esp since my bro really enjoyed the ones I gifted him from the last round. And esp esp since I had the coupon.
Really hoping for a bubbly please. And sweet wines, pleaseplease. And really REALLY hoping the up to three bottles of white is at most only one bottle pleasepleaseplease. And would most of all love to see what a “killer wine” is.
And most of all, hoping I score the $50 coupon for when the hinted-at port sale drops. Ports are sweet, that much I do actually know about wines.
/giphy impervious-cloying-pepperoni

Must be clearing out Big Hammer wines or Scheid warehouses!
How is this not sold out?!?!
@Drez143 Must be a big warehouse or houses.
@Drez143 @jmdavidson1 gettin’ close.
@Drez143 @Winedavid59 I liked the feature on the old site that showed how close/far it was to the end of the inventory. And, the flashing sign that it was about to be sold out. Cant you include that on this site?
Looks like made it in just in time. Very curious to see what my blast from the past ends up being.

/giphy welcome-sorry-temper
I tried really hard to resist. I am weak…and thirsty.

@karenhynes would have been weird if you hadn’t !!
/giphy outspoken-depraved-feet

Just hoping the Twisted Oak is one of the reds.
/giphy bawdy-eligible-cucumber

Now I’ve done it.
Based upon the last mystery case, I couldn’t hit the button fast enough on 2 cases. And yes, I did buy the Int’l mystery case, wine under the bridge.
I still have one bottle of D’ontspille Le Black in my wine fridge (2009!). I’ve been afraid to open it for over 10 years. Display only?
@agailb
I’m not afraid.
Feel free to send it to me and I’ll open it. Afterwards, I’ll even send back the empty bottle so you can continue to display it.

@Winedavid49 @Winedavid59
Out of curiosity, what is the oldest vintage that might appear from this offer?
@kawichris650 i’ll answer this a little later. we are conscious of whites not being too long in the tooth. may make an exception with wellington. (a few cases)
@kawichris650 @Winedavid59

@WineDavid59
How is there any still left?!
You lose a lease or just need to clear space for your other endeavors.
@rjquillin
It appears the WCC crew is doing some serious spring cleaning haha.
@rjquillin it’s getting harder to resist buying… Hahaha
@rjquillin @Ten9Eight it would have been a bouncing button. very close to a sell out. thanks for the support!
I would sure like to be a fly on the wall to watch these cases being packed up!
@agailb come help!
i can say it was our best case volume of the year. it’s gonna be busy!
@Winedavid59
Tried to resist up until the very end-but alas, I lost-or maybe I won??
Somehow it seemed like one of the longest lasting offers, especially with so many of us buying two cases! I really do wish I could be there to help you pack. It must look like Santa’s Workshop! And especially fun to see any of the old Woot Cellers labels.
@agailb thank you. this has been alot of fun. nice memories indeed. some (most) of those woot labels are so spot on funny and thought through. great team back then.
@Winedavid59
@agailb brilliant. Yes.
@agailb love quaffmor!
@Winedavid49
Anybody else save the packing slips with all the wonderful wine info from their Woot and WineWoot shipments?
@margav
I have most of them saved in a box.
@margav
Wondering if it went to spam or something . . .
@TheNarc Haven’t gotten it yet either but I suspect the randomized aspect this time around has added to complexity and delayed distribution
@james Makes sense, I’ll just keep an eye out. Appreciate the response, glad to know I didn’t just overlook it!
@james @TheNarc it will come with delivery. it’s paper.
@Winedavid59 Thanks for the clarification!
@TheNarc @Winedavid59 My how formal!
@james @TheNarc @Winedavid59
email gets lost. I don’t know where a single discount coupon from CM, meh or UC is that came via email.
paper is good
@james @rjquillin @TheNarc @Winedavid59 The UC coupons last about 30 seconds so they’re not worth all that much, imo. (Sorry, WD!)
@klezman @rjquillin @Winedavid59 @Winedavid49
I asked:
WD said:
FYI: My first case had two identical bottles and there was overlap between the two cases.
Also, both cases came with the same coupon code, but the site is only allowing the code to be used once. I think a LOT of people will be needing a different code provided in order to resolve this problem.
@kawichris650 @klezman @rjquillin @Winedavid59 did you order 24 or two separate cases at different intervals?
@Winedavid49
Haha.
@kawichris650 @klezman @Winedavid49 @Winedavid59
This was a question I attempted to ask earlier as well.
Hopefully those ordering two offers, in one order, will get two coupons; as those ordering two offers, not in the same order, have been told to expect two coupons.
@kawichris650 @klezman @rjquillin @Winedavid59
We were careful to make sure people who ordered two cases at the same time got a variety. People who ordered two cases at different intervals there was no real chance to compare the two.
@Winedavid49
Ahh okay. I’ll keep that in mind for next time. But that still doesn’t account for the duplicate Acoya bottles together in the same box.
More importantly… What about people receiving duplicate coupons and the site only allowing single use?
@kawichris650 @Winedavid49 It looks like you weren’t the only one to get two of the same bottle within a case – that seems to have happened with @ecue’s second case, below, the red blend at the right in the picture.
@Winedavid49 @Winedavid59
I also got two of the same coupon and indeed I ordered on two different days. Any chance for a replacement code?
@jrbw3 @Winedavid49 i see your point. let me take a look.
Evidently my mysteries are coming tomorrow, even though site has expected delivery two weeks from now and no tracking numbers.
Mine showed up today! Thank goodness we got back from vacation last night and we were home to collect it. I don’t see a reveal thread yet. Mine is nearly all reds, but an interesting mix.
@jcpseattle this is the reveal thread!
Got some cool bottles in mine - the K-2 and Fort Ross sound fancy, and very curious to try the Stoka. That Consumerus brings back some memories. Overall, looks like a fun mystery case and can’t wait to try some of it!
@Teim Yeah, that Pet Nat looks interesting.
@Teim 4 malbecs?
Very happy with my first case! The second case arrives tomorrow. Looks like I’ll be adventuring in France, Italy, Argentina, and Canada. Thanks WD!
@halwarning Oh and my coupon was of the $20 variety.
@halwarning where do you live that you already received delivery?
@kainc I live in Los Angeles. Just a skip up the road.
@halwarning thanks, I’m in Chicago suburbs, delivery probably not imminent which is good for me til Saturday.
@halwarning Oooh, I hope I get a bottle or two of that ice wine.
@kainc I’m in Indianapolis and got mine today. No updates in shipping but brown dropped off like 2 hrs ago. You might be sooner than you think.
@indyrob Thanks. I rec’d update today that it’s coming tomorrow. I won’t be there but paid UPS $5 to leave at an alternate site. Hope it works.
@agailb @InFrom If can’t or don’t want to use your phone, you can also email the photo(s) to yourself then post to the forum from another device using InFrom’s instructions:
Some decent selections. That 2010 Mad Ape Den screw top is going to be a gamble
@jct9889 I don’t even remember that wine!
@jct9889 @klezman It was on meh.
@jct9889 Buy the Calle Lily, get the rest included. Several solid wines.
@jct9889 What happened to the 12th bottle?
@Mark_L woops, set that one aside. Desert Wind 2018 Ruah.
@jct9889 @Mark_L
The Laura Michael is likely with the price of admission.
Cheers,
Brian (aka CalCobra)

@jct9889 Thanks, appreciate it.
@jct9889 @Mark_L Thanks! Interesting, Ron [ RJQUILLIN] said it was still drinking well in 2023, gives me hope. Merlot can go for eons, so might be okay if it’s been well cellared.
@bsevern @jct9889 @Mark_L
I should go and see if I can unearth another bottle of that to pull a cork on…
@jct9889 @Mark_L @rjquillin Hey Ron! Great idea!
@bsevern @jct9889 @Mark_L
Just spent about 15-20 minutes looking where I thought I last saw it.
Will need to expand the search area.
@rjquillin So that’s one grid down. How many more to go?
@bsevern great reviews on CT for that expensive Chianti!
@TimW I’m looking forward to the Chianti. I’ve been opening bottles from least expensive/lowest expectations to most expensive/highest expectations. The Chianti might be the last bottle I try
Alright so like I mentioned above, this was a total surprise to receive so early. I got a case, which included 10 reds and 2 whites.

@jcpseattle the adequate gift was an absolute favorite. And it really got better with time!
@CorTot @jcpseattle IIRC wasn’t that produced by Wellington? I loved that one too, would’ve loved to get one, congrats!
@bsevern @jcpseattle no, it was another producer, I don’t recall who made that wine.
@bsevern @CorTot @jcpseattle
The winemaker for this Woot Cellars project is Matt Cline of Three Wine Company
(HT @HitAnyKey via CT)
@CorTot @jcpseattle Loved the Woot Cellars Adequate Gift! Hope my case has one, too.
@CorTot I thought the Unicorn was very good.
@msten looking forward to it.
@CorTot @msten reboot!
@CorTot @msten
I love the Unicorn! I actually picked the capsule color.
Looks like lots of good stuff! Glad I got in on this one. Anyone on the east coast getting their boxes yet?
@user48745965 I’m in Maryland and one of my two cases is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. Just got the UPS notice today.
mine is coming today! (detroit area)
Here in FL my cases haven’t shipped yet. When does 2 day summer shipping start?
@dawnlac Mine still don’t have a tracking number but one was delivered yesterday and one is coming today. Make sure you sign up for a UPS account. They give updates with CM doesn’t.
@dawnlac @halwarning you got a case delivered and going to leave us hanging like that???
@dawnlac @KNmeh7 Scroll up and you can see pics of my first case.
Got my shipping email an hour ago for delivery in Minnesota.
@cynthylee
My first case is currently on the truck and in the neighborhood.
The tracking number for my second case was just emailed to me a little while ago.
@cynthylee
Scratch that. Both cases arrived together today. About to post photos in a moment.
Jackpot!
@jsr914 Wow! Very nice! I probably would have passed out.
@jsr914

Wow!!!
@jsr914 And a Torcido and a Laura Michael! W00t!
@halwarning Keenan was well received.
@halwarning @msten love that Keenan chard
Got my shipping notice 13 minutes before ups arrived.Glad i was home to sign. Got a great selection of wines.
I’m okay with my 6-pack but a little bummed there was no Twisted Oak.

I think the Woot Consumerus could still be drinkable, but I’m not as confident on the Riesling.
@roncunningham we tried the Riesling. It was tasty. Not getting the twisted was a mistake. Get with support. Apologies.
@Winedavid49 I appreciate your reply! I’ll contact support and will plan to try the Riesling soon.
Case #1

I received a $20 coupon code.
Case #2

(With the same $20 coupon code.)
Looks like tracking only happens after delivery; and P/U will happen on the way home from work today, to see those gems contained within will be…
I unpacked and made notes yesterday, so this was not a case per se. wanted to get the whites into the fridge first.

@agailb Congrats on The Prisoner!
@agailb wow yours is awesome
EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!
@agailb That is an outstanding 2 case purchase. Several varietals and several outstanding items. Enjoy!
@msten I have to say, I’m very excited about all of these! Trying to decide which ones I can fit in my small Vinotemp.
We got Sunny with a Chance of Flowers from the store about a month ago, funny to see it popping up here. It was pretty fine enough but not worth buying again.
Did anyone else receive a Tacana Malbec Reserva 2021? The only price I could find was $105. Single bottle or a case??
@agailb cellartracker average price is $90/btl. Nice score!
@agailb @wardad tacana is a high altitude Malbec. Really interesting.
@wardad @Winedavid49 I read that it was originally going to be for cattle, but the altitude was too high for them.

@davirom that bonneau is fantastic. Reminded me of opus one
@davirom That must be a typo on the sparkling right? Maybe they meant 11.8%?
@user48745965
I can only go by what it says.
@davirom Zoom in! I think it does say 11.8!
@user48745965 You may be right. The first 1 is overprinted on the C. I did some web searching and found bottles being sold as 12.5% / 7.9 g/l and 12.8% / 7.51 g/l. It’s NV so there is no way to compare.
@davirom @user48745965
Definitely 11.8.
There’s a send “1” very close to the C in “ALC”.
@Winedavid59 I got a 2013 Riesling. Do you know if anyone has tried it recently? Bit worried about the year. Thanks.
@danidani12 Rieslings often can go a decade or two or even three. I’ve got a couple in magnums that I’m not touching until 20 years after vintage. Yours might be over the hill, but it might be plenty young.
@wardad thanks!
@JoeCabstain we have some overlap. Yours looks great.
@danidani12 I too was concerned about the 2013 Riesling, but I just poured a glass and it’s very nice! Cheers!
@JoeCabstain you got an Urgency, Help Yourself and a Vote. I think someone is sending you a message.
@jct9889 That was my interpretation too!
Didn’t get any of the super-premium bottles, or coveted old vintage Wellies, but as a VolMod y’all might think something hinky if I did.
A nice selection, no dupes and only a couple I already had in the cellar.

@cathyk39 Do tell! (Or show!)
@InFrom
I took a photo which I can’t figure out how to add here. If I’m feeling ambitious later I will add a typed list.
@cathyk39 @InFrom There are some helpful hints upthread from Wednesday around 6 pm
@cathyk39 @InFrom
I believe up-thread is help on how to post from a phone, or it could have been from yesterday, or earlier…
Ahh, what davirom said.
I can’t get the pictures to come up from my Samsung phone (tried all morning). My wine woot selection is 2001 Reboot North Coast brut. I also received a bottle with no label. Guess I really received a mystery.
@Winedavid49 @Winedavid59
Are you aware of any shiners that made their way into the mystery orders?
@danandlisa
That likely may a shiner from Swilly.
Pretty sure I recall an offer from him where some went out that way.
No capsule and is there a dot on the cork?
@kawichris650 @Winedavid59 not on purpose
@rjquillin I wish it was Swilly. It has a white capsule on it. Just no label.
@danandlisa I just did a quick scroll through this thread and there are actually very few pictures that include a white capsule. Depending on whether the wine is red or white or pink, you may be able to figure out the winery from the shape of the bottle.
@davirom Since this is a Mystery case, you cannot tell what you got. Yes, I can guess, but I would probably be wrong.
@danandlisa It’s more likely than not that this bottle holds the greatest wine ever made and the relentless unfulfilled longing for just one more taste will consume you for eternity. Happens to me all the time.
@danandlisa White capsule could be Onesta. Those wines are delicious and they are closing shop, so eternal longing is likely still on the table.
EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!

@hscottk I got one of each in my cases……
@InFrom
This is my case, minus a bottle of rose given to the neighbor who accepted my shipment.
Thanks to all for tips on how to add a photo.
Here’s my two cases of I can edit with a photo

Number two
@CruelMelody A Phat Goose sighting!
Similar to rjquillin
Nothing too amazing but most all solid. Only one dupe, Torcido, which I’ll take! Even the three or four I’m skeptical about are interesting. And the Woots might be drinkable? No pic because we’re in the middle of a kitchen remodel and there is literally nowhere to “stage” them.

Heck of a deal! and a $20 Coupon.
@sillyheathen
outstanding voucher haul!
i don’t know much about wine, so any feedback on what i have would be appreciated.
@keili30 You got a nice mix! Pull all the corks, eventually, and remember what you drink. That’ll help you figure out what you want to learn more about next time around.
@keili30 @klezman @rpm
Sounds familiar!
@keili30 @klezman @Winedavid49 … The lad heard it from me in his youth and doesn’t even give me credit:
Pull lots of Corks
Remember what you taste
@keili30 @rpm @Winedavid49 Apologies! I thought it was a given that we all know that’s your wisdom!
@keili30 @klezman @Winedavid49 - I tease…but there’s a whole new generation of Case-mates who weren’t there for the Magical History Tours or the wonderful long threads on wine tasting which were the heart of WineDavid’s Wine.woot.com!
@keili30 @rpm @Winedavid49 a pole I deserved anyway. I’ve been spreading that wisdom for years at this point, usually with attribution. I have a PhD, after all.
Looks like I got the Italy theme, pretty excited to try them all! Also got the $20 coupon.
Interesting case, pretty good value. Looking forward to 11 of them
. Who made the adequate gift? There was a sheet with producers but that one predates my Woot time
@pjmartin
That Fort Ross Pinot should be a good one!
@chipgreen Happy with the case; the urgency cab was a popular filler but I found it way to sweet. And the diet chard is probably not a fave. I think the Ft Ross and the Mira Pinots will be nice.

@joed10303 Thanks - that is what I thought I remembered. I have always liked Matt’s wines.
Full up already so just dipped my toes with a 6. Nice variety; the Trahan seems the most niche. Should I try to drink a 2014 Cava? Thank you Casemates!
Woot Cellars Consumerus 2013

Twisted Oak Potty Mouth ? White 2022
J Dusi The Other Brother 2020
Urgency Red 2022
Trahan Proprietary 2018
Mascaro Cava 2014 (!!)
@lehigh love the illustration on that Trahan label!
@james yeah, river of skulls meets day of the dead. Only four barrels produced?

@losthighwayz clearly i need to think through the coupon methodology going forward.
@losthighwayz @Winedavid59
It was clear the coupons would be a mystery, so I wasn’t expecting anything logical about the disbursement.
The only hiccup to address is for the people that received two of the same coupon, but are only allowed to use one.
@kawichris650 @losthighwayz @Winedavid59 i would hope if we ordered two cases we could use two coupons? Otherwise, I probably would have only ordered 1 case…
@losthighwayz @Winedavid59
@normanl0
David hasn’t mentioned a solution yet, but I’m optimistic he will announce one once a it has been determined.
Here in FL still waiting on 2 cases with anticipation. Love seeing what everyone is getting.
Our mystery box arrived yesterday. Interesting mix for us, with several that we aren’t at all familiar with, and the ones we know, we like!

@Springbank
You simply type in the coupon code during checkout. No different than when Casemates sends a code via email.
@Rose @sillyheathen thanks for the heads up!
Pretty happy customer!
Love that randomness. I was hoping I would get 3 bottles of white. I did not get 3 bottles of white. I did get two bottles of Woot holiday/specified and a split of a Pinot. Super fun, wish I could have requested a white vs red heavy case. But fun none the less.
Finally got around to opening my case!

My 6 pack showed a new tracking number tonight. Not sure what is up with that, but thank you if something nice happened there!

@lyon1989 Super selection. Drooling over the 1994 Willington Victory Reserve!
@Winedavid49 what’s the story behind the Phat Goose?
@nwalls2009 @Winedavid49
The video is no longer available, but it involved Fat Gus, and bottle of Phat Goose, and a tub. You can get a pretty good idea here:
https://wine.woot.com/plus/woot-cellars-phat-goose-party
@karenhynes @nwalls2009
Hah, yea it was a rare time we did not move all of the woot cellars on the first offer. The dude in the tub was a campaign to move some on the second offer. It was hilarious if not kind of gross. Haha!!!
@marjoryk is your cava also 2014?
@lehigh yes
Another terrific selection that I am thrilled with, plus a $20 coupon!
Wonderful assortment of vintages and varietals, plus a $20 coupon. I couldn’t be happier.

@shellzy please tell them about casemates!
Has anyone else gotten a Holmes Ranch Stringer Cabernet Sauvignon 2021?

First time posting. How do I add the picture?
@TheWidow19 Here’s a link. I posted about it the other day, but I think the post got buried.
Super happy with my wines, and a $50 gift code to boot!!!

@kray05 I think the Mira Pinot and the Tenvta Belgvardo are the big hits and of course the Pinkie Swears which was actually 2 years before I started buying from here
@kray05 pinky swear is such a great label!
@InFrom yeah you got hosed lol
@losthighwayz Lol, compared to what I’m seeing elsewhere, I have to confess that I’m a little disappoint. Just realized that my “$90” bottle of Malbec is really only $25 in CT – the one discussed above is the Reserva, mine is not. But whatever, even if the majority of them look to be low priced, there are a few interesting bottles in the mix.
@InFrom @losthighwayz we paid essentially a little more than $8 per bottle.
@InFrom @losthighwayz @vandemusser
Hear, hear.
@losthighwayz @vandemusser 100% agreed, the aggregate value is greater than what I paid.
@InFrom @losthighwayz @vandemusser
Agreed it’s hard not to covet others cases. Mine is fine too and can’t contest the value proposition. It’s very true that there were wines delivered that would not otherwise be in my shelves ; and that’s a good thing. Cheers!
@InFrom @losthighwayz @vandemusser that Rapsodia is $38 on CT…looks like a nice bottle.
@InFrom @losthighwayz @vandemusser and that Hawley is $41 on CT. Looks like some nice wines in there.
@InFrom yes, we are certainly spoiled for pricing!

Did anyone else order two cases and get the same coupon twice? I tried reaching out to support but they are not understanding the problem and I feel like I’m being rude.
@CruelMelody
Yes. I believe many people received duplicate coupons and the site is only allowing one use per account. @Winedavid59 is aware of this. I’m hoping Casemates will provide a replacement code, but as of now we are all stuck waiting for a resolution.
@CruelMelody @kawichris650 @Winedavid59
I’m on it
@Winedavid49 @Winedavid59
Thank you
First purchase since the Woot! days. Underwhelming but still excited to try.
Also Got a$20 coupon. I’m excited to try these.
@mommadeb Those Wellington whites age amazingly well…
@klezman I have a decent amount of Wellington left. Excited to try the chard. Believe it or not, I’m liking chards now
Sixer just arrived – luckily wasn’t too hot today as I’m always end of the route it seems
actually why I almost didn’t order this one and pretty sure I was one of the last. Glad to get another TO and $20 coupon though! Also excited for the summer hold option now – I actually speculated if the warehouse cleanouts were in prep for CM possibly starting some kind of storage option, and here we are!

@james I just picked up the Dragon Ridge Red Wine and it is delicious, so that cab should be tasty as well!
@ACraigL oh yeah I’ve gotten it in the mixed case before. Not bad at all!
Nice selection here (I think)

The standouts are:
Obviously happy to reminisce over the Woot Consumerus
Plus a $20 coupon! Woo!
@ACraigL that’s a $40 bottle of champagne, too!
@TimW I had it last night and it tasted like one. Thanks for calling it out!
@agailb
You will not be disappointed!
@agailb
That was me, and you’re very welcome.
I hope you put it to good use and start enjoying some of those Wellingtons.

Here’s my 6-pack–
Also oh yeah–my coupon is $20. Now watching for the mystery port sale @Winedavid49 promised us…
@SylvreKat Don’t sit on the 'secco sparkler for too long.
What dupe? The two CM bottlings?
With up-thread comments and questions on the Consumerus, I Coravin’d a bottle and found it doing quite well for a 12 year post vintage bottle. Tasting again now I find some nice fruit remains, almost sweetish but fruit I think and not RS, with nicely resolved tannins if a bit short finish. For me, I can easily hold, but looking at your comments you may want to short-list it.
Patiently waiting for @jmdavidson1 to weigh in…
@chipgreen Good variety:

2018 Onesta Syrah
2020 Monte Chiaro 345 Chianti RSV
2022 Gentlemen Farmer Pinot Rsv
2021 Jana Tickle Me Pink Rose
NV Gruet Brut Champagne Style
No complaints (unusual for me, I know).
@jmdavidson1
That officially makes this offer a success in my book. I’m glad you got a selection you’re happy with this time!
@chipgreen In reference to WD and the great customer service, CM always made some type of concession to fix any issues (i.e. duplicates, etc.).
@jmdavidson1 @winedavid59
@chipgreen @jmdavidson1 @Winedavid59 A preposition is a terrible thing to end a sentence with!
@chipgreen @jmdavidson1 @Winedavid59
>'Kat
@SylvreKat Be careful what you wish for – you could end up with a 24-y.o. bottle of Woot sparkling wine!
Just let that Cheer sit another year or two, it’ll improve, based on past Pedroncelli bottles.
@InFrom Actually, I would take it!
Add enough Sprite and it’ll sparkle again.
@chipgreen @Winedavid59 Opened the 2020 Monte Chiaro 345 Chianti RSV. One of the better chiantis I’ve had. This should be a casemates. It also passed the critical review of +1.
Welp, UPS is at it again. Delivering a very obviously damaged, opened and resealed box, removing 1 bottle, for whatever reason, and delivering 11 bottles without any notice, I guess, assuming I cannot count to 12
@toddlamp
That 12th bottle is the biggest mystery of all!
No photo. I inventoried and stored quickly. Some key bottles. Values from CT as what people really paid.
2008 Woot Cellars Adequate Gift - I enjoyed on release, so I will give this a shot. Recent CT note that properly stored it was still good.
2019 Highay 12 Highwayman Reserve CS ($41). HIghway 12 was my intro for wine.woot and David. So I was really thrilled to see this bottle.
2018 Laura Michael CS ($40). I’ve had wines from this winery and loved them.
2019 Zialana Zin Reserve ($50). New to me.
2020 Hawley CF ($39). Also new.
These last four bottles make the purchase worth it before the $20 coupon.
@Polarbear22 nice selection
2022 “Bottled Cheer” Red Wine Blend
Bought this last year on Meh, it was cheap and decent.
($8-10 on Meh/SideDeal)
2019 “Avivo” Vermentino
($8-11 on Casemates, $12+ elsewhere online)
You can read my rattage of it here.
@bsevern My daughter & I opened the Urgency last night and I agree. It was a bit fizzy.
@RedwineO Mine was cooked. After the first night, I re-corked it thinking perhaps it would improve, and the next day the cork about blew off like it was a bottle of champagne, and it taste terrible. I opened a replacement request.
Hooray! Two Woot wines (Consumerus 2013 and Mad Ape Den 2010) and two bottles of the Casemates equivalent (Cheers 2022) and a heck of a lot of good wines (I got two cases)! Thanks to Woot and Casemates for filling my cellar with wine and my heart with joy!
Pretty pleased with the Brunello alone and honestly happy with just two whites. Great box! Here’s everything:
Fort Ross Mother of Pearl Chardonnay 2021
Carucci Chardonnay 2020
Woot Cellers Consumerus 2013
Twisted Oak Torcido 2018
Tra Di Noi Brunello 2019
Beau Vigne Romeo Cab Sav 2022
La voja Pinot Noir
Galactic Stellar Manifestation 2022 (x2 only double)
Deerfield @pinot 2021
Rock Hollow E11even Petit Sirah 2021
Loma Larga Rapsodia 2012
@benjyhe
That BV Romeo should be tasty, but I’d not be touching it for years…
@benjyhe that E11even is Andrew Murray. I liked the ones I’ve had in the past.
@rjquillin Yup - I put that, the Brunello and the GSM aside, the rest will be in rotation, starting with the Rapsodia, we’ll see if that’s any good still!
Pretty happy with this!! Mine included a 2005 Woot Cellars Emergency Holiday Provisions bottle.
@TimW original EHP! Wow! I don’t think I ever tasted that one.
@klezman do you think that 2005 EHP will be drinkable?
@TimW no idea - never had it. Who made it?
@klezman I have not been able to find out who made it…and I’m away from home right now so I can’t check the bottle. I’ll try to remember to look on the label when I get home.
Late to the party but wanted to contribute. Shipping was quite fast, have just been lazy getting pictures (and from an old phone so they’re not great).
This has been such a fun buy and thread…love seeing what everyone got in their cases almost as much (maybe more?) than opening my own mystery case. Thank you @Winedavid59 for overseeing this and making it fun!
Not sure I saw anyone mention it, but do the coupons have an expiration date?
@ACraigL o think it’s ~ 1 year
