Prudent winemaking means capturing the characteristics of the land coupled with the unique growing conditions of each vineyard and vintage. This bottling is representative of an appellation that continues to produce wines with complexity, depth, and structure while maintaining the uniqueness of the region. Ripe blackberries, crisp plums, and luscious pomegranate juice rush together to the front of the profile. Tinges of cinnamon, smoky crushed black pepper, and spicy hoisin sauce make for a mouth watering mid-palate sensation as the glossy tannins and bouncy acidity become perceptible. Nuanced with hints of tobacco and fresh coffee grounds, the supple finish writes a delicious and lasting signature that is connected to its scenic and rustic provenance.
With fruit sourced from our San Ardo Ranch (just north of Paso Robles, CA) this Zinfandel (75%) was blended with Petite Sirah (25%) for color. Planted on the highest peak, these chalky soils produce fruit of intense flavors and unique mineral qualities. Fermented in Stainless Steel and aged 11 months in Oak Cooperage.

If there are any Denver peeps who wants to split one of these up let me know. I has the poor and I have too many wines to drink to get six more (Yes I know this contradicts itself).
I’m in RI and a VMP. Anyone interested in splitting a short order or a full case? It sounds good enough that I wouldn’t mind buying a couple bottles but might as well see if anyone else is interested in splitting the case. Any takers?
@melmains Messaged you earlier in the week but maybe you did not see it. this casemate site is great for wine but not so much for messaging. Anyway both the Gard and Oblivion are in. Let me know how many of each you want and when a good time to meet would be.
@redjeep0 they ship FedEx (at least all I’ve ordered so far have been). So now that Walgreens will accept FedEx for you and hold for up to 5 days, it’s been a lifesaver for me.
@nostrom0 I’m embarrassed that I never followed through with you on this wine. I couldn’t figure out how to find this post on the phone, but I was able to find it on the computer. I’m happy to connect with you for the wine.
Opened a bottle last weekend, and I have to agree with @nostrom0…it was really good. Shared it with my father-in-law who has been making his own wines (mainly French varietals) for 40 years, and we were both impressed at this price range.

Seems like a deal…in for a case…
With a RS of .38, would this be considered a sweet wine?
@silverqueen A humans perception of sweetness is generally >3 g/L. At 0.38 g/L, this wine is nearly bone dry.
The great ilCesare referenced this, but this was offered in June on woot here:

With 25% Petite Sirah I would expect a little more body from this than the comments suggest…
I’ve had and really liked Sextant’s Wheelhouse Zinfandel in the past.
@RexSeven Wouldn’t have guessed the % of petite sirah in this.
And the specs on this are very close to their 2014 Central Coast zin fwiw
