Aromas of dark fruits, baking spices, and subtle earthiness. Flavors of black currant, blueberry, and plum with vanilla, clove, and dark chocolate notes. Smooth yet well-structured mouthfeel.

Created in 2018 by a reformed “wine-snob” originally from Champagne, France, Obvious Wines founder Brice Baillie noticed a gap between an overall growing interest and love for Boutique, Vegan & Eco-friendly wines, yet a high level of intimidation towards selecting and discussing them.
So he decided to create an accessible and playful brand that still checked all the necessary boxes of high-quality, eco-conscious wine. So, he got to work cold-calling wineries in California to identify those who were open to partnerships and met his criteria. Eventually, he got a bite, and Obvious Wines was born.
@firegate Woah. What a claim, and what a question for the community. What is the best budget red you have bought on this site in the past decade?
I don’t know off the top of my head. But, a great question. I instantly thought of Don Isidro by Gard, but I forget what I paid, and it wasn’t this cheap.
Edit: It was actually cheaper! So that is my choice. Damn, what a deal.
How much more are you saving by buying a full case?

2020 Obvious Wines Nº01 Dark & Bold Red Blend - $36 = 23.07%
In4 a case. Bought six bottles lasts October and they’ve been nice for the price. While expectations were capped as being informed by the price the payoff was above and beyond what i had hoped for. It’s easy drinking crowd pleasing red with more body than anticipated in a pleasant way.
I’m not even sure I’ve finished my case from the last time it was offered (things seem to get stacked up!), but definitely in for another. Very pleasing red blend.

[edit] and @ilCesare was quick on the linkage…
For the price, I can’t say no. For the order number, I don’t know how to feel

@simtel20 what is with the order numbers this time?

This is the best budget red I’ve had through the last decade of buying through winewoot/casemates. Auto-buy.

@firegate @KNmeh7 Off the top of my head, I agree, the Don Isidro by Gard was a killer deal. I bought two cases…wish I had a lot more!
Splitters #DMV folk?
@bunnymasseuse I’d be up for splitting a case!

I bought a case back in October. Nice every day drinker, and is very solid QPR wine.
Anyone in south / eastern New England care to split?
I’d love to try this but don’t have room/need for a case. Anyone in SE TN/N GA area open to splitting a case?
@thompp I’m in the nashville area and would love to split a case.
@thompp I’m in Atlanta and would be interested in a split.
Definitely don’t need this, but absolutely trying it…

Bought the rose when it was on offer not too long ago and can’t stop drinking it and sharing it. Don’t see how I can pass on this.
I would love to try it if they would ship to Alabama.
@jlim13 I’m in the Nashville area and I’m splitting a case with @thompp. I’m happy to part with a bottle or two if you are in the nashville area!
@nathanbsmith @thompp
I super appreciate it. I’m in the Birmingham area, so it’s a little too far for me for this one. Maybe another time!

I really enjoyed this wine. In for a case, maybe 2.

I’ve enjoyed the case I got at the last offering. In for another.

Not sure what this means… “Obvious Wines in partnership with Scheid Winery built the blend together and it is unique to Obvious Wines”
@kaolis I think it means they bought bulk wine from Scheid and designed a blend based on what was available.
Not a Scheid fan. I’m out
A good cheap wine.
Sometimes that’s all you need for a Thursday evening.
@FritzCat I find that they are a decent goto.
