Our Pinot Noir Rosé exhibits fresh aromas of strawberry, cherry, and light notes of rose petal. Crisp flavors of red apple and raspberry are accompanied by a refreshing yet lingering finish, with hints of fresh herbs.
The California Coast is known for its long growing season, a result of the chilled marine air from the Pacific Ocean. This maritime influence has a cooling effect, which allows the grapes to ripen more slowly and evenly. Extra hang time leads to complex wines that exhibit heightened aromatics, intense fruit flavors, and full varietal expression.
Vineyards
Pebble Lane wines come from sustainably grown vineyards that are meticulously farmed throughout the year. Our Pinot Noir Rosé is grown in northern California, where foggy mornings lasting until midday are followed by brisk afternoon winds and temperate nights. This cool climate creates ideal conditions for developing intensity and complexity in the wines while preserving crucial acidity.
Winemaking
Upon arrival to the winery, the grapes are whole-cluster pressed and fermented cold in stainless steel tanks. Minimal intervention and careful handling in the cellar ensure that Pebble Lane wines are fruit-driven and true to both variety and terroir.
Pair with crab cakes or fresh lobster.

Windswept coastlines and sunny valleys meet to form the perfect setting for our estate vineyards. From this meeting of land and sea, the wines of Pebble Lane are crafted to pair beautifully with premium steak and seafood cuisine.
The wines of Pebble Lane are created from grapes grown on our very own estate vineyards. In this unique setting, maritime fog from the Pacific Ocean sweeps through the valley nightly, cooling the vines and lengthening hang time. This extended growing season allows flavors to concentrate within the grapes, resulting in exceptional wines with layered complexity.
Our sustainable practices are as much a part of our wine as our grapes. To share our tradition of winemaking and our vineyards with the next generation and to pave the way for future innovation is at the very heart of what it means to be sustainable. Our vineyards and winery are certified sustainable by a number of third-party organizations including GLOBAL G.A.P., the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance, and BRC.
Pebble Lane 2021 Pinot Noir Rosé
Good day everyone! I’m happy to be a lab rat for the Pebble Lane 2021 Pinot Noir Rosé. We received this a week early and planned a dinner around it.
After chilling in the fridge for a little while, we did the initial pour. The wine is clean and clear, with a pretty pale salmon pink color. It has noticeable legs when swirling in the glass.
The label doesn’t give much away, other than the 12.5% abv.
I haven’t had a lot of California rosés, so I was eager to try it, especially since it’s from Central Coast, an area we plan to visit again in a few months.
The nose is very crisp; we were getting flavors of strawberry, apple, rose petal, and bacon fat (in a good way). I may be mis-identifying that last one, but as the wine warmed up, it was not as pronounced.
On the palate, it’s definitely a dry rosé. It had a light body, with a slightly oily mouthfeel. We were getting raspberry and some citrus (mandarin orange or pink grapefruit) flavors.
The medium to high acidity was evident on the long finish. And the wine had a little pucker at the very end. As the wine warmed up, the acidity was more pronounced.
On to the food pairings. We started with cheese (manchego & gruyère), prosciutto, crackers and salmon dip, while we watched an episode of Drops of God. The salmon dip was a good pairing – the rosé’s acidity became less pronounced. The creamy cheeses and prosciutto had a similar affect and worked well with the wine too. Our dinner of lobster tail and spinach salad was just okay with the wine – it would probably be better with different shellfish.
We definitely liked this rosé – it would be a great late summer patio sipper, paired with a cheese board. At this price point it’s reasonable enough to stock up so you could enjoy rosé summer in a glass throughout the fall months.
Thanks Alice & Casemates for another opportunity to drink and review wine! (And thanks for the glass!)
@bunnymasseuse I liked it better with food which toned down the acidity. I tend to like lower acidic wines, but this worked for me alongside some medium soft cheese.
@DanOR@kaolis@pmarin I saw that about Scheid. I feel it’s misleading to the average consumer to claim its Estate fruit because the first thought is from one estate not one dozen across the state!
Here is your second LAB RAT reporting for duty: I am so excited to be reporting after almost a decade-my last report was for the old Wine Woot site and that was early on. That said I know very little about Rose’, but I invited two friends over to help. Initial taste was right out of the refrigerator and we didn’t get alot but put this with some creamy brie, goat Gouda and truffle Gouda and it really sang! After it warmed a bit the dry crispness really came out. My thoughts were that this would really be a hit at a bridal or baby shower. Dinner was just baked chicken and a berry tossed salad which paired well too. All in all we thought this was an elegant and sophisticated wine which would be a great addition to anyone’s cellar.

@kfroehlich you sold me! Thanks!
@kfroehlich if you had this on its own sans food, what would be your thoughts on it? Food only or solo drinker?
@kfroehlich I find it interesting the bottle you got was 12.5% but the post says 13%

California appellation and Estate Grown doesn’t make sense
@losthighwayz Maybe it’s grown in the, eh, state of California?
@losthighwayz @pmarin Hey I think you’re right! They own the vineyards but they are spread out in different AVA’s?
@losthighwayz I noticed they as well, kinda odd.
@kaolis @losthighwayz @pmarin It’s a Scheid Family Wine and they own a lot of vineyards across the length of the Salinas valley.
@DanOR @losthighwayz @pmarin Ah, didn’t catch Scheid. They do own a ton. Are they up to 1000 different labels yet?
@DanOR @kaolis @pmarin haha
@DanOR @kaolis @pmarin I saw that about Scheid. I feel it’s misleading to the average consumer to claim its Estate fruit because the first thought is from one estate not one dozen across the state!
@losthighwayz My thoughts exactly.
@DanOR @kaolis @losthighwayz @pmarin Maybe they’re rounding the “estate grown” as well as the ABV .
