Question - who are the lab rats?
2Sorry since I’m sure this has been answered in the past, genuinely tried searching around and couldn’t find an answer, but was curious - who exactly are the lab rats here who get test bottles and write the customer reviews? In particular - how were they selected, are they picked at random or is it something they sign up for? Is it based on order history, experience, seniority?
I was talking about this with a friend who introduced me to WW years ago, we both just kind of assumed they were all random customers. But then I got to thinking about it, I’ve ordered over 30 full cases from CM and probably another 50 from WW. My friend has ordered more than me. In either case, probably over a decade each and more than a couple thousand bottles between us, and neither of us has any clue.

Greetings @firegate.
The short answer is that the Lab Rat program is open to anyone in the CaseMates community. A simple message to @WCCWineGirl (alice@winecountryconnect.com) should get you on the list. I look forward to seeing your reviews!
Cheers!
@karenhynes Thanks for the response! Haha I realize this probably wasn’t clear from my post, I’m not actually looking to become one myself - at least not right now - but good to know! Was just genuinely curious about the background of the reviewers and how they’re chosen.
@firegate
Ah! Once you’re on the list, it’s pretty much random. A few times/yr I get an e-mail from Alice letting me know that a bottle is on the way (with tracking info) and what the start date of the sale is. It’s a great program and you should definitely consider joining!
@karenhynes cool thank you, maybe someday. I travel too often for work right now to commit, miss a delivery and let others down
@firegate @karenhynes Fire that’s why I was taken off of it, 85% a yr travel made a bunny not a good rat.
As has been mentioned, send Alice an e-mail to get on the list. I like to think I do a good job when I get the lucky opportunity, but I believe consistency is the key to getting a second chance. I have a feeling more than a few bottles have gone out and never ratted.
Also, FWIW, I ordered A LOT from Wine Woot and was never a rat, despite signing up to be one. Alice does a good job with the program on this site. Good luck getting a golden ticket!
I have been one. When I lived in the Central Coast I got a lot of last minute stuff from Alice because it would get there in a day. I haven’t arranged to go back and do it again. Because right now it’s just not a good lunch is tickle thing for me but I’ll bring it back and that’s funny cuz I use voice to text and that’s logistical
