@Winedavid49 After ordering the less than stellar foreign mystery case, I am 1000% skeptical of this deal. I am a big fan of Wellington, but don’t want to waste my money on this deal.
@danandlisa@Winedavid49 i actually had a good experience with my 2 cases of foreign mystery! Hoping for another this time!! In for 2!!
/giphy moist-necrotic-knot
@StingingJ@Winedavid49 I wish you more luck luck than I have had. All my mystery cases, including the expensive ones, have made me promise myself never again.
@danandlisa I totally get your perspective. That said, in my experience the hits have vastly outweighed the misses on WW/CM over the years. And the price point makes this a low risk roll of the dice.
@hscottk Yes, I’ve had one, maybe two, misses in all my years at both websites. The lengths they will go to achieve excellent customer service (i.e. Fetzer) make me trust everyone at Casemates.
I bought two cases. Worst case scenario, I drink them all while the in-laws are here over the holidays. Best case scenario, I hide them from the in-laws who will be here over the holidays. Really, it’s a win-win.
Almost as fun as the offer itself will be the thread that follows where everyone will tell what they got. Kind of like the first day back to school after Christmas
we’ll take a gamble - quality overall here has been above expectations, so even if some of the varieties are not to our tastes, we have plenty of people to gift them to.
We have our wishes, of course, but wishes only work if you keep them secret. If they come true it’ll be in the reveal threads …
@GatorFL@LincolnMics Over the summer I buy from sites that will hold the wine until the temps cooperate. I have 3 cases on their way now that I just released. That’s why space is, or soon will be, short.
@a5meiser@bdb@danandlisa Yes, the infamous Case of International Mystery. We all bought a case of $12 wines and we’re disappointed when we got a case of $12 wines! Now we’re buying $10 bottles and hoping for “black tie” wines. If it’s a case of the average Casemates offering it’s still a value proposition. The comments and the anticipation are half the fun.
@a5meiser@bdb@danandlisa
I got a case. 2 bottles of 6 different wines. One of them, don’t remember the brand, tasted like a tire fire. Only time I’ve poured wine down the drain.
@bdb@danandlisa it wasn’t so much it was bad just kind of “meh”. Got 2 bottles each of 6 different wines but nothing I would buy again if I saw it offered. Totally still drank them though!
I am tempted. Not that it would influence my decision either way, but how does WCC actually amass extra inventory? I thought it was kind of a winery agrees to sell so many cases to WD at whatever price. If he sells them all, awesome, if he only sells a few, they only send him that many to send out. At least that is how I thought it worked. I didn’t think he physically took control over the allotment until the final sales were totaled. Are these canceled orders? One of the cases had a broken bottle so these are the 11 others? Was this negotiated with certain wineries for their randoms? Inquiring minds want to know.
As someone with a gluten allergy, my order number is highly offensive. @WineDavid49 I can be won back by a nice mix of wines, or at least a couple bottles of Wellington
A friend and I went in on a case… here are the rules of the game. We make a nice dinner, drink the last bottle out of my international mystery case (Caliterra), then open this mystery box. No research allowed. Then we each alternatively pick bottles based on what looks most interesting, not based on what they retail for. It’s already bringing back memories of picking for kickball teams in middle school.
A definite case of FOMO. Also, I WOULD LIKE TO CONNECT WITH WHOEVER ORDERED FROM COLE COUNTY, MO (I’m in Morgan). Give me a whisper if you might be interested in future splits.
/giphy fixated-rigid-argon
I do want to say, if I get a case of Scheid bullshit I will leave it at the homeless camp and never purchase a mystery from here again.
As I explained to my friend: “This is their time to shine. Lots of people felt burnt by their mystery case. I know we get little mentions of reverse wine snob, and other ventures, but I see a lot of new people commenting on casemates.” This may bury the brand or enhance it. I hope he chooses to throw in some gems.
@WCCWineGirl Gotta love a job you can drink on, and I appreciate the photo. We can garner a lot from it.
First, why would you ever have to “taste” the wines you are sending out if you already haven’t? Are these new-to-you wines? If so, that doesn’t vibe with the “we have too many cases.” I was assuming these were actually leftovers from previous offers, hence my first question.
It seems this was a premeditated purchase with the mix you have already decided on. Not like, oh, we found a few Wellington ports without labels (thanks!) and we have to move. If it doesn’t sell out by 12 EST, I think we all got taken for a ride on the idea of “warehouse clearance”
You are sitting on a thousand perfectly packed cases. There is no way you are having randomly selected old bottles that happened to be on hand. This is evident from the non-response to my question.
Please tell the person who ordered two cases at once that he will, likely, get two identical cases.
Not to mention there are perfectly six bottles on the table. I think we all now know.
@KNmeh7@WCCWineGirl I will note that I see a bottle of harvest Moon there - always a good option!
Also, those pallets are cases direct from the winery, not shipping boxes.
@KNmeh7@WCCWineGirl and i thought the comments would be about my Hoka’s! the cases in the background are not necessarily casemates related. WCC has a good few behind the scenes b to b businesses that, among other things, helps casemates. yes, we’ve morphed a bit and gotten more flexible in how we an offer wines on the site.
Yes, which begs the question of why did they advertise they had extra cases laying around. Unless they bought way to much international plonk and that is what is happening. To me, seeing a warehouse of purposefully packaged MASSES of wine, is anything less than “we had extras”
Scott Harvey magnums sold out at like 10a EST if I recall. This is hanging around and isn’t a Friday offer. Let’s just call a spade a spade.
Yes, which begs the question of why did they advertise they had extra cases laying around. Unless they bought way to much international plonk and that is what is happening. To me, seeing a warehouse of purposefully packaged MASSES of wine, is anything less than “we had extras”
First, WCC has been at this for a long time so there’s no doubt (and no surprise) that they have numerous cases worth of random bottles strewn about.
Second, no one ever implied the cases of wine in the photo were specifically for the current offer.
Third, WD already stated the warehouse has wine for B2B dealings that happen behind the scenes.
Side note: I sure hope nobody ends up with any Coors Light in their shipment!
@kawichris650@KNmeh7 they do more than just wine, apparently - I ordered some pasta sauce (Sonoma Gourmet Organic Roasted Vegetable) and it shipped from WCC.
I wasn’t a fan of the international offering, but it still wasn’t a horrible value. Drank it with friends that enjoyed it more than we all did in the community because they didn’t know the backstory and the expectations. I think the challenge there is the expectations were set too high. I’m thinking good karma might prevail here, and provide the great equalizer with this offer. would love to see a Wellington, a Pedro, something fan-friendly and delicious. In for a case. Thanks WD.
@frankster14 IIRC, it was the “multiple 90+ bottles in each case” description that soured many of us. It was the first time I was ever disappointed, but I’m still down with the mysteries. Picked up two cases of this…hoping to see a few classics along with decent daily drinkers.
@connorbush@winedavid49
It did seem this may have been, imo, better suited for a Friday offer; unless the overage was huge and/or the response unexpectedly vigorous.
@LincolnMics@rjquillin Friday deals only last 24 hrs, so even if they [don’t] sell out, there’s gonna be a new deal up at midnight (Eastern).
Some offers are more conducive to that – things that might be sellouts, or things that are pricier than usual or might be slow sellers for other reasons.
Love the price point, fun to have a mystery case, and I’m confident that WD can come through with a great domestic mystery case. Went in for 2 right at the beginning of the offer. Need some daily drinkers. Because I frequent Casemates, my current daily drinkers are wines like WineSmith Grenache and Scott Harvey Barbera. Need to keep those for the weekends.
No sorrow here. There was a reason these wines never sold. My grocery offers similar “deals”. But good that casemates was able to clear their storage for better offers to come. Salud!
Yeah not so sad I missed it after the last mystery wines. Most were decent, nothing outstanding but a couple of meh bottles if I recall. Maybe next time around…
How much would you have saved by buying a full case?
(Note: tax and shipping are not included in savings calculations.)
Random Mystery Wines - $20 = 15.37%
@keyes11421 Mine is scheduled to arrive next Wednesday. Unfortunately, I won’t be home until the following Monday. Hopefully UPS will honor my reschedule request this time.

Plus there was a coupon for $15 off my next purchase! I can’t believe the value here, especially with the Napa cabs. Unbelievable, I should have bought 4 cases!!!
@StingingJ go buy yourself some lottery tickets… you are obviously on a hot streak right now. Congrats on the haul… that’s an amazing selection of wines!
@StingingJ that Juliet really caught my eye, as did a few others. Congrats. I thought that the mystery wines were left overs from previous offers. So, I’m baffled as to where some the wines came from.
@CorTot@jmdavidson1@rjquillin@StingingJ I saw a Furthermore PN listed here somewhere I ratted for the now defunct Divvy-up site (very nice wine, btw). So yes, wine origin stories might vary quite a bit.
@kawichris650 I was surprised to see it in there.
That Heir Apparent atlas peak cab has a SRP of $165, which seems ridiculous but I’m excited to try some time.
@CorTot@InFrom@kawichris650 I have a signed bottle of victory I desperately want a reason to open. Keeping my fingers crossed I get one in my shipment today!
@therealsutano, Sorry I can’t help, but this was super to the last drop, from that ‘other site’ during that octopus sinking the SSWOOT.
. PS we just drank our last 2013 750, just a Magnum left.
@therealsutano
I had the 1991 merlot a few years ago and it still had a lot if life in it. I’m sure that cab will be enjoyable to say the least. Congratulations!!!
Wow, this is a decent haul, thanks for the mystery! Some known faves, lots to try for the first time.
$9.17 bottle at case price. Prices below at Casemate case prices where listed, otherwise I just e-shopped around. In general, unlike an IRK over at Meh, this looks to be a pretty great bargain and anything but disappointing.
Writer’s Block 2016 Lake County Petite Sirah - $24.20 average at Vivino
OG de Négoce 2018 Walla Walla Valey Cabernet Sauvignon - $13.33 as part of a three varietal Cab offering.
Onesta 2019 Bechthold Vineyard Rosé of Cinsault - $10.83. One of our faves, glad it was the only non-red of the batch.
Beau Vigne 2020 Napa Valley “Juliet” Cabernet Sauvignon - cannot find a casemates listing, or any other pricing for the 2020 vintage - judging by previous vintages, looks to be at least $30 for one this young. From rep of earlier vintages, this is cellar candidate.
Roessler Red Label 2009 Sonoma County Pinot Noir - $25 average on wine searcher
Five Wise 2017 Central Coast Meritage Blend - $15 on Vivino, cannot find a Casemates listing
Zeppelin Winery Paso Robles “Wine Club” - $27.50 but as bundled with Black Zepp, 2x to each Wine Club.
Wine Smith 2016 Lake County Cabernet Franc - $16.67
Pedroncelli Winery 2019 “Cheer is (almost) here” Red Wine Blend - $9.83, half case price.
Kunde 2018 Sonoma Valley Zinfandel - $11.67 case price on Casemates
Highway 12 2020 Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon - $21 av price on wine-searcher, cannot find a Casemates listing, but we liked their Chardonnay
Andis Wines 2020 Sierra Foothills Barbera d’ Amador - $16.67 for 2019 vintage
@therealsutano Wow, what a bottle! That’s our wedding anniversary year, and we drank this Wellington cab on our 25th anniversary in 2016 and it was one of the most beautiful cabs we’ve ever enjoyed.
I’ll bet yours is still going to be good. Let it chill out for a while after it’s journey. There will likely be a ton of sediment, so decant or use a screen when you pour.
@wnance glad to hear the random ridge cab held up for 25 years! It went straight into the wine fridge to settle and anything this old definitely needs to be decanted. I’m very much looking forward to this wine.
Damn @winedavid49, thanks for this killer offering. I got lots of favorites and a couple bottles I was curious about but couldn’t afford. I’ll be saving the Whitehall lane cab for a special occasion!
Oh my goodness, there’s Wellington! Haven’t received mine yet and it looks to be an amazing deal regardless but fingers crossed for some Wellington in the case.
A little disappointed that I already have several bottles of four of the 12 (and I’m sure I’m not a fan of the Pedroncelli Port) but that 2001 Wellington Merlot makes the whole thing worth it and a very good price for all this. Should’ve gotten a second case…
Love it! We had an 07 Victory for NYE in 2017 - such a great bottle! Will again in 2022! Don’t know anything about Andis or Artus but have had just about all the others! Thanks WD!
Here’s my haul that just arrived. I have to say this is likely the best deal that I have gotten from this site or its predecessor in over a decade of buying wine here.
2018 Joseph Jewell Pinot Noir
2016 Italics Proprietary Red
2018 Cheer From Over Here
2017 Frog’s Tooth Petite Sirah
2016 WineSmith Cab Franc
2017 Prima Materia Barbera
2014 Meeker Barrel Select Zinfandel
2019 de Négoce OG N.24 Pinot Noir
2017 Cult Cabernet
2019 Pareto’s Estate Eighty20 Old Vine Zinfandel
2014 Peterson GCS
2018 Pedroncelli Family Vineyards Petite Sirah
This is more than I was hoping for, a true mystery and variety pack. Great job @WineDavid49 and the whole team! Hopefully these were as fun to put together as it was to unbox.
I know very little about wines other than I like to drink them. Anyone more knowledgeable want to chime in and tell me any notable standouts here and how my overall case looks?
@tsigley I can tell you that Wellington is definitely a standout. You’ll see it mentioned many times among these comments. Two Jakes is a favorite of mine (and this community I’d say). I’ve had that Attune and it’s really good as well.
Well whatever you felt about the international mystery case( I was personally fine with it although certainly not wowed) WD has outdone himself here. With a vengeance. Not sure where they were stashing these wines but I am extremely pleased. I think I have only had 2 of them before as a bonus.
1 The Messenger Adelaide Cabernet 614
1 Pedroncelli 2018 Petite Sirah
1 Peterson 2014 Bradsford Mtn Cab

1 Wellington 2013 Victory Reserve
1 Fetzer 2016 Anniversary Reserve Cab
1 Winesmith 2018 Saint Laurent Carneros
1 Writers Block 2017 Malbec
1 Cheers for over here 2018 Red Blend
As people have said my only regret is not ordering 2 cases. I feel like the coupon in the box should have made me pay $15 dollars more for my next case rather than receiving a discount…
I have Mystery Case envy. I am somewhat disappointed in the 6 bottles I received (with no coupon). All the full cases look great, I’d take any 6 from anyone’s photo over the 6 I got. I received 3 that I’m interested in: Highway 12 Red Blend, Tin Barn Zin, and 2 Jakes Aspects (I’ve had this and enjoyed it). The other 3 are Old Pearl Pinot Noir (I’ve had this and didn’t particularly enjoy it - supermarket wine), Casa Chardonnay (not a Chard drinker), and Vigilance Cimmaron. It appears to me that the better bottles (and coupons) came with full case orders. Lesson learned.
1 of 2 cases delivered today. Not sure how they got separated. Pretty interesting mix…

Obviously love the Wellington, I had one of those left. The 2001 Meeker is listed on their site as a library wine for $120! Anyone know anything about that one?
No WineSmith, Scott Harvey, or Ty Caton in this case, looking forward to more surprises in the 2nd one when it gets here.
@wnance yikes, the last time I had 2 cases separated (on it’s last leg of the journey) UPS had dropped one. It showed up 2 days later, soggy box in a box, missing a couple. Good luck!
@wnance Got an '05 4 kings during a D&D visit back in '13 that has some decent recent TN’s. Not much on the '10 tho…
You should tag up @trifecta likely he’ll have an educated opinion.
@wnance Since the Heir Apparent Cab is $165 on their website and the Prestoni Cab is $100, I think I got my money’s worth! Just no 1991 Wellington cab for me…
I just received my package at 8:52pm, literally minutes after I told my wife that I had given up hope that it would come today and I would have to wait until Friday. I wasn’t too shocked with the late delivery, as we received 4 and a half feet of snow last Friday and cleanup is still underway.
Either way, I have to say, I absolutely LOVE what was received! I know there are some gems here, but to be truthful, I was extremely joyful each time I pulled out a bottle of an offering that I was on the fence of but didn’t pull the trigger (I am really looking at you Son of a Butcher, I fist pumped when I pulled you out!).
I am super excited to give these wines a try, and to see if these wineries are ones I need to pull the trigger when they come up as I go away from my safe bets in Scott Harvey’s and Pedroncelli.
May I suggest future mystery boxes where it is simply random bottles of the deals that transpired over the last year (and gems such as Wellington are not needed?!?)?
Side note: I did buy the international mystery box as I must say with that, I was not disappointed. I truly enjoyed trying wines I have never had before. Granted, none of them blew us away, but at the same time, it was nice and we had no regrets!
Thank you for the killer deal, and just like back in the woot days, you have our trust!
Received my case today! I think the only one I have other bottles of is the Durigutti Malbec, but it’s delicious so it can’t hurt to have more! I’ve had plenty of Pedroncelli, but not the Merlot - looking forward to trying it! Also curious about the 2001 Meeker… Overall, quite pleased with the selection and looking forward to broadening my horizons!
@liquidbluenight Ours must have been packed next to each other! Nice WineSmith Grenache and Meeker Pinot. Great Wellington cab as well. We will have to compare notes in that 2001 Meeker Four Kings.
@wnance Seems so! Agreed, looking forward to the WineSmith for sure - I finally opened a bottle of the Unicorn recently and was pretty blown away. Pinot is not one of my favorite varietals (neither is Merlot), but it can’t hurt to try something new!
@LincolnMics MoonspeLL 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon says 89% cab sauv 7% cab franc 3% petit verdot 1% merlot
screw cap no cork, smell good dark fruit, drinks easy but has a nice cab flavor, easy light tannins could use more abrasive tannins but the flavor is great finish is easy and nice solid drink again “playful for a cab sauv, crowdpleezy”
I didn’t think to snap a picture, and we finished two of the bottles off already. Here is my list, and I’m quite happy.

Love the variety. I have a few of those exact Wellington PVs, but unless I got a coveted <2000 vintage bottle, I would likely have received one I already owned. And there isn’t nothing wrong with that!
@deadlyapp I have had the Nyssa, and very excited for it. Looking forward to the two you mentioned, but curious about the Dcubed, Steele, the Gamays. I have had most of the others I believe.
Are you anywhere near Columbus, OH. Northwest PA? Madison WI? Ann Arbor MI? Those are about where I can reasonably get you a Wellington PV.
I took that gif to heart during the swan song of woot. BUY ALL THE WELLINGTON.
Thanksgiving is cleaned up, time enough to post my case. I don’t know enough to be elated or dissapointed, but I’m pretty happy. Nice selection, only one Chardonnay, so there’s that to be thankful for.

Not yet sure where on the good wine bell curve this selection falls, but I am looking forward to most of them, even if just for the fun of it. A waxed cork on the Fort Ross is a bit intimidating NGL.
Even coming from the woot BOC perspective, this is an impressive variety being reported with less repetition than I would have guessed. Great job casematees!
there were some great cases, it was fun to read all of them. I had to wait patiently until today to get my case, and I have to say I’m pretty stoked…

and…
1991 Wellington Victory Red Blend…!!!
I think I did ok, correct?
@frankster14 I have to admit I’m a bit intimidated by this one. I have a 2007, 2009 and 2-2012 Victory Reserves, but this seems otherworldly…guidance from any Chicagoland folks greatly accepted.
@frankster14 I got one as well. Like you, I’m a little stumped. I have an ah-so, which will most assuredly be needed. Once it’s opened I’ll figure out what to do next, i.e. decant, slo ox,…Fingers crossed it’s still got life.
I was out of town when the cases were being delivered, but it went to my office for “safekeeping.” Watching all the postings over the past week had me pretty excited for what might be in the box. I wasn’t super disappointed with my international mystery box, but you never can tell. Needless to say, my case is amazing! All the more so since the box was destroyed yet everything came through intact. My guess is that it probably got jostled a lot so maybe we’ll give the bottles some time to settle back down…What’s great is that there isn’t a single bottle that I already have…
Late to the party due to Thanksgiving travels. Here’s what was delivered today:
NV Harvest Moon RandyZin
2017 Hawley Old Vine Zinfandel
2017 Kunde Estate Zinfandel Sonoma Valley
2016 Mentida
2013 Onesta Cinsaut
2019 Meeker Pink Elephant Rosé
Casemates QPR Select (original Paso Robles version)
2016 Bergevin Lane Linen Red Wine
2017 Smith Story Cabernet Franc
2016 WineSmith Cabernet Franc
2018 Pedroncelli Petit Sirah
2013 Wellington Victory
It’s interesting that the last three were on the bottom layer of the box – kind of like digging for buried treasure!
Now that everyone uncovered their wine I really want to know if there’s a story behind why WCC ended up with so many bottles of victory just kicking around
@deadlyapp I’ve been thinking about the same thing. Has @WineDavid49 been holding out on us for all this time? Inquiring minds want to know if there is more lurking around!!!
@Mark_L@PLSemenza@Winedavid49 doubtful. I thought i had seen rumors at one point that David bought out all the remainder of Peter’s wine and then packaged and sold it how he saw fit. Perhaps there wasnt enough Victory to make good offers and previous Wellington mysteries were already Victory laden. Shrug.
@deadlyapp@Mark_L@PLSemenza@Winedavid49
However it came to be acquired, we should all be thankful, imo,
that it was.
I seem to recall much of the inventory went to east coast outlets.

WD, send me a case
I’m in. Maybe the warehouse gods will be kind to me since I jumped in early.
Can @WineDavid49 promise my case will be all Wellington, Roessler, Noceto, and Expressions?
@klezman Exactly!
@klezman @danandlisa how about District 7, right? Maybe 3-4 of those, lol.
@Winedavid49 After ordering the less than stellar foreign mystery case, I am 1000% skeptical of this deal. I am a big fan of Wellington, but don’t want to waste my money on this deal.
@danandlisa mistake ( with all due respect)
@Winedavid49 So is one worth the gamble?
@danandlisa @Winedavid49 of course he’ll say YES
@kitkat34 @Winedavid49 Afraid of wasting money when I have plenty. Unless I get confirmation that my money is well spent, I am sitting this out.
@danandlisa @Winedavid49 i actually had a good experience with my 2 cases of foreign mystery! Hoping for another this time!! In for 2!!
/giphy moist-necrotic-knot
@StingingJ @Winedavid49 I wish you more luck luck than I have had. All my mystery cases, including the expensive ones, have made me promise myself never again.
@danandlisa @Winedavid49
reverse psychology, i get it!
I might try one day…
Dear beautiful warehouse Gods, please send red blends and plenty of pinot noirs
/giphy painstaking-elastic-spaghetti
I have way WAY too much wine… but wth…
/giphy negligent-picky-grass
a) I do not need more wine
b) I love a mystery
c) I trust WD
The correct answers are b and c
/giphy influential-bright-learning
@hscottk I don’t trust WD. I have been burned, unfortunately. I wish you luck.
@hscottk I’ll second that! (not to danandlisa, i.e.)
@danandlisa I totally get your perspective. That said, in my experience the hits have vastly outweighed the misses on WW/CM over the years. And the price point makes this a low risk roll of the dice.
@hscottk I wish you more luck than what I have had.
@hscottk Yes, I’ve had one, maybe two, misses in all my years at both websites. The lengths they will go to achieve excellent customer service (i.e. Fetzer) make me trust everyone at Casemates.
Remember when a warehouse cleanout was called a wootoff?
I bought two cases. Worst case scenario, I drink them all while the in-laws are here over the holidays. Best case scenario, I hide them from the in-laws who will be here over the holidays. Really, it’s a win-win.
@mattykillpatty I think you mean it’s a wine-wine.
@mattykillpatty genius!
@mattykillpatty Both scenarios work for me!
Almost as fun as the offer itself will be the thread that follows where everyone will tell what they got. Kind of like the first day back to school after Christmas
@kitkat34 completely agree!! The suspense is killing me already!!
@danandlisa, OK let’s roll the dice or die, could we make it a 20 sided one, Dungeon Master…:lavish-waxy-pocket
@PLSemenza I hope you have more luck than I have.
I have way too much wine but… mystery wine means I have to buy. Maybe I’ll win the Powerball and it will even out!
@reesai if I win the Powerball jackpot I will gift my case to you. I may even tuck in a few extra Franklins in the case for you. Just because…
Also, worse case, if i don’t like the wine, I give it to the neighbors as a gift because it will be way better than what they have now…
/giphy cloudy-eligible-recess
/giphy tawny-efficient-lunch
we’ll take a gamble - quality overall here has been above expectations, so even if some of the varieties are not to our tastes, we have plenty of people to gift them to.
We have our wishes, of course, but wishes only work if you keep them secret. If they come true it’ll be in the reveal threads …
/giphy near-amusingly-juniper
6 bottles is our compromise between being short on space and fomo.
/giphy confusing-ancient-engine
@davirom I’m lucky. I don’t order over the summer cause it’s too hot. This is my 3rd case in the past couple weeks to restore my depleted wine rack.
@davirom @GatorFL skipping summer might be the move moving forward, short window anyway
@GatorFL @LincolnMics Over the summer I buy from sites that will hold the wine until the temps cooperate. I have 3 cases on their way now that I just released. That’s why space is, or soon will be, short.
Going to try it. Hopefully it will be better than the international mystery case.
/giphy satisfying-eligible-mitten
@a5meiser You are the second person here who was disappointed by the international offer (hi @danandlisa). That was before my time. Care to explain?
Also tagging @jshaver and @thinksno16 @frankster14 @knotworking
@a5meiser @bdb @danandlisa Yes, the infamous Case of International Mystery. We all bought a case of $12 wines and we’re disappointed when we got a case of $12 wines! Now we’re buying $10 bottles and hoping for “black tie” wines. If it’s a case of the average Casemates offering it’s still a value proposition. The comments and the anticipation are half the fun.
@a5meiser @bdb @danandlisa
I got a case. 2 bottles of 6 different wines. One of them, don’t remember the brand, tasted like a tire fire. Only time I’ve poured wine down the drain.
@bdb @danandlisa it wasn’t so much it was bad just kind of “meh”. Got 2 bottles each of 6 different wines but nothing I would buy again if I saw it offered. Totally still drank them though!
@a5meiser @bdb You were lucky. I could not drink mine.
If I pull the trigger, please no whites.
In for a case. Why not? Could be fun.
/giphy frosty-poor-money
Will it be a mixed case of De Negoce wines? Yesterday I received a text from them that they found lots of random wine in their warehouse.
POPSOCKETS! SPROCKETS! DAVY CROCKETT! AWESOME!
@KNmeh7 asking the hard questions here
Thinking of it this way - it would be difficult to be more disappointing than the international mystery offer which still had some merits. Why not?
/giphy longer-organic-land
Major FOMO.
I am tempted. Not that it would influence my decision either way, but how does WCC actually amass extra inventory?
As someone with a gluten allergy, my order number is highly offensive. @WineDavid49 I can be won back by a nice mix of wines, or at least a couple bottles of Wellington
/giphy deprived-waning-wheat
@knlprez
I don’t know, it sounds like you ARE deprived of waning-wheat!
@swmbo
Can’t resist, but I am well-stocked…six-pack will have to do
/giphy greedy-musty-nation
Meh, I’ll take a chance. $109 and I’m VMP.
/giphy whimsical-skinny-degree
@GatorFL I guess I bought at the right time. Hoping for something good!!!
Why not?
/giphy unhappy-losing-marble
I’ll bite - in for 2!
/giphy brawny-dainty-dove
Will each case be different? If we get 2 cases, will the 2nd case be the same wines as the first?
@Se7enty9 likely different
Okay, I bit. Warehouse peeps, do me a solid!
/giphy defiant-horrific-cottonmouth
The price is right and a mystery is intriguing. In for a case.
Cheers!
After being burned in the international offering and being full - 6 bottle compromise.
/giphy fashionable-attentive-margarita
Heavens help me.
Oh, god, what did I do. I googled.
https://wineonsale.com/products/15-bottles-of-award-winning-red-wine-for-winter-750-ml?variant=34756638245002&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=bing&utm_campaign=Bing Shopping&msclkid=2bdbe82b899a12d5bacf8b490be45802
If any of these show up in the cases, bah humbug.
@KNmeh7 what a deal!
WCC Crew hard at work…
@WCCWineGirl If that’s work, where do I send my resume?!!!
@KNmeh7 @WCCWineGirl I will note that I see a bottle of harvest Moon there - always a good option!
Also, those pallets are cases direct from the winery, not shipping boxes.
@KNmeh7 @WCCWineGirl and i thought the comments would be about my Hoka’s! the cases in the background are not necessarily casemates related. WCC has a good few behind the scenes b to b businesses that, among other things, helps casemates. yes, we’ve morphed a bit and gotten more flexible in how we an offer wines on the site.
Casemates is the golden child.
we hope you enjoy.
@klezman @KNmeh7 @WCCWineGirl wccwinegirl should have been in this pic! i think she had gone home by the time we thought to take it.
@klezman @KNmeh7 @WCCWineGirl @Winedavid49
Nice Hokas! The Bondi has been my go-to for years.
@klezman @KNmeh7 @WCCWineGirl @Winedavid49
@klezman
@chefjess @KNmeh7 @WCCWineGirl @Winedavid49 I had to look up what Hoka is… Much less exciting than I’d hoped!
@KNmeh7 we have different interpretations of the situation. Not sure debating it will help anybody.
@klezman ha! You were probably thinking HOPA
@WCCWineGirl
@klezman @KNmeh7 yep.
@chefjess @klezman @KNmeh7 @WCCWineGirl @Winedavid49 I thought he said hookah.
@WCCWineGirl that’s a good looking crew right there….
@WCCWineGirl Thanks for posting a pic, it’s cool to see what y’all actually look like!
@GatorFL @WCCWineGirl Completely agree! I’m here for the community.
@KNmeh7
@kawichris650 I wondered if anybody else noticed the Coors!
@WCCWineGirl Dang … missed - too busy trying to figure out how to store all the stuff I had already. Great Pic though!
@kawichris650 @KNmeh7 they do more than just wine, apparently - I ordered some pasta sauce (Sonoma Gourmet Organic Roasted Vegetable) and it shipped from WCC.
I’m intrigued, plus - ya know - FOMO.
/giphy malleable-bitter-beast
I think this is fun! In for a case.
We’ll give it a try!
/giphy thirsty-wishful-wheel
Hell, I told myself no more mystery offers but I love gambling so I’m in for a case.
Sad. Case sold out.
@connorbush @winedavid49
It did seem this may have been, imo, better suited for a Friday offer; unless the overage was huge and/or the response unexpectedly vigorous.
@connorbush @rjquillin @Winedavid49 or there’s a plan for what follows
@rjquillin Well, that just saved me an argument about buying more wine we don’t need…
Also, this felt like a Friday deal from the get-go.
@InFrom yup, on Friday
@InFrom @rjquillin what’s up with the Friday deals?
@LincolnMics @rjquillin Friday deals only last 24 hrs, so even if they [don’t] sell out, there’s gonna be a new deal up at midnight (Eastern).
Some offers are more conducive to that – things that might be sellouts, or things that are pricier than usual or might be slow sellers for other reasons.
@rjquillin Hey Moddy, I meant it like I wrote it!
These are the type of deals that just get my blood flowing! #PureExcitement!
Now that it’s all sold out so nobody feels pressured, I can’t believe some of the comments here, felt like I was in a Facebook political comment page.
@deadlyapp I’m counting on this being @Winedavid49’s mystery case redemption!
i liked the international mystery cases (ducks)
Love the price point, fun to have a mystery case, and I’m confident that WD can come through with a great domestic mystery case. Went in for 2 right at the beginning of the offer. Need some daily drinkers. Because I frequent Casemates, my current daily drinkers are wines like WineSmith Grenache and Scott Harvey Barbera. Need to keep those for the weekends.
@wnance Over the years the price and quality will keep trending up to the limits of your budget defying logic and reason. Enjoy the ride.
Why did I get an email about something 8ish hours after it sold out?
@seraphmonkey It’s a bot.
Sends email when the offer has 24 hours remaining, but clearly doesn’t know anything else.
@rjquillin @seraphmonkey i tried to stop it, but to no avail.
An hour? You animals…
@thatmikereed Sold out Wednesday afternoon, still was crazy tho
Man, this is what I get for not checking in very frequently. Enjoy your mystery and may it be better than the last! sulks off in jealousy
No sorrow here. There was a reason these wines never sold. My grocery offers similar “deals”. But good that casemates was able to clear their storage for better offers to come. Salud!
@PaleMongo could be thia but more likely its orphaned bottles creates in between fulfillment by the winery and logistics by WCC
You snooze, you lose. I lost when I snost.
Well dang, that’s what I get for missing a day, I guess. I would’ve gladly taken a 6 of randoms, even if I have space problems. Now I’m sad.
Yeah not so sad I missed it after the last mystery wines. Most were decent, nothing outstanding but a couple of meh bottles if I recall. Maybe next time around…
Well dammit. Early bird gets the worm.
How much would you have saved by buying a full case?
(Note: tax and shipping are not included in savings calculations.)
Random Mystery Wines - $20 = 15.37%
These are hilarious. Cue Admiral Akbar - “It’s a trap!”
Waiting…
/giphy elated-mucky-jasmine
Looks like it has been shipped! Excitement begins to grow!
@keyes11421 yep, can’t wait for tomorrow’s arrival!!!
@keyes11421 Mine is scheduled to arrive next Wednesday. Unfortunately, I won’t be home until the following Monday. Hopefully UPS will honor my reschedule request this time.
@keyes11421 @Mark_L They are on the way out the door!
@ExtraMedium @keyes11421 @Mark_L WD doing the selection himself!
Saw some Scott Harvey red label and wine Smith.
@ExtraMedium @keyes11421 @Mark_L looks like a ton of variety! Soooo excited!!!

@StingingJ with 2 cases did you get 2 coupons?
@CorTot yes, but not sure that ill be able to use both or not.
@StingingJ that Juliet really caught my eye, as did a few others. Congrats. I thought that the mystery wines were left overs from previous offers. So, I’m baffled as to where some the wines came from.
@jmdavidson1 @StingingJ they didnt specify offers on casemates only…
@CorTot @jmdavidson1 @StingingJ
And WD does have a good number of other channels.
@CorTot @jmdavidson1 @rjquillin @StingingJ I saw a Furthermore PN listed here somewhere I ratted for the now defunct Divvy-up site (very nice wine, btw). So yes, wine origin stories might vary quite a bit.
@rjquillin In my mystery csse was a 91 wellington victory. Do you think it’s still drinkable? I may need the ah so to uncork it. Any thoughts?
@jmdavidson1 What’s your address?
I’ll send a prepaid shipper to you…
@jmdavidson1 @rjquillin
You WILL need an ah so
@jmdavidson1
I think (and hope) you will be pleasantly surprised. Congratulations on scoring that bottle!
@jmdavidson1 @ScottW58
or even better yet a Durand
@CorTot
Wow I can’t believe they still had Wellington bottles sitting around! Lucky you!!!
@CorTot @kawichris650 Holy cow, a Victory!
@CorTot
I like how you laid it out, Victory last but not least
@CorTot @InFrom @kawichris650 And a 2007 Victory at that!
@kawichris650 I was surprised to see it in there.
That Heir Apparent atlas peak cab has a SRP of $165, which seems ridiculous but I’m excited to try some time.
@ScottW58
@CorTot @InFrom @kawichris650 I have a signed bottle of victory I desperately want a reason to open. Keeping my fingers crossed I get one in my shipment today!
Anyone know anything about the '91 Wellington Cab Sav? My google-fu isn’t turning anything up.
@therealsutano I’d be more than happy to research that Wellington for you. Let me know where to pick it up. I promise very detailed tasting notes!
@therealsutano, Sorry I can’t help, but this was super to the last drop, from that ‘other site’ during that octopus sinking the SSWOOT.
. PS we just drank our last 2013 750, just a Magnum left.
@therealsutano Well, there are/were a few in CT cellars. WS was generous (snark) to it in '94 with an 85 rating, but what do they know…?
Love those old style classic labels.
Those from Pedroncelli as well.
@rjquillin certainly the wine has changed significantly in the 25 years since the 85 point review!
@therealsutano
I had the 1991 merlot a few years ago and it still had a lot if life in it. I’m sure that cab will be enjoyable to say the least. Congratulations!!!
I’m beginning to think that my prediction of this being @Winedavid49’s mystery case redemption was on spot!
Mine’s stuck on the thruway in 4 feet of snow…
How I feel
@davirom did you only order the 6-pack???
@CorTot What can I say? Seemed like a good idea at the time?
A quick web search puts the current value of the wine at $162. We didn’t have any of these in the cellar, so looking forward to trying them.
@stolicat you’re low on the Juliet cab… that’s easily a $90-100 bottle if you use the 2019 as a reference. Nice selection in your box!
@vandemusser I get that, the more I looked into it - quite a surprise!
@therealsutano Please post your experience! Hoping something even close to that interesting shows up in my 2 cases. Should be here sometime this week.
This looks promising
@glacial Seems like plenty of the Roessler Red Label is showing up.
@glacial @rjquillin I see on 10/9/2016 @klezman wrote “Another great bottle. No need to wait - it might go downhill, so drink up!”
@klezman @Mark_L @rjquillin I’ll regard that advice as marching orders
@glacial @klezman @Mark_L
Well, if that’s the case I’ve got 25 '09 bottles of various Roessler to hit hard.
@glacial @rjquillin not many. Roessler’s
Damn @winedavid49, thanks for this killer offering. I got lots of favorites and a couple bottles I was curious about but couldn’t afford. I’ll be saving the Whitehall lane cab for a special occasion!
@CruelMelody thought I spotted that label in the boxing video
@Winedavid49 Dang, I can’t believe I missed this offering…
Oh my goodness, there’s Wellington! Haven’t received mine yet and it looks to be an amazing deal regardless but fingers crossed for some Wellington in the case.
@DJZachAttack if it’s a case purchase, you have a good chance. i’d say 65% chance.
A few duplications, and a few additions to what I already had, but all-in-all, a nice selection with some quite nice surprises.

Will post more later, but look at this gem!
Here’s the whole lot. Pretty happy with this haul
My case just showed up. I got:
Excited to break into some of these soon.
WineSmith and Wellington?! Today must be my birthday!
A little disappointed that I already have several bottles of four of the 12 (and I’m sure I’m not a fan of the Pedroncelli Port) but that 2001 Wellington Merlot makes the whole thing worth it and a very good price for all this. Should’ve gotten a second case…
Very happy with the case! (And wishing now I’d gotten two) Lots of great wines to try:
2001 Meeker Four Kings
2012 Wellington Petit Verdot
2007 Nysa Pinot Noir
2018 Scott Harvey Barbera Mountain Selection
2015 Attune Pinot Noir
2015 Tin Barn Zinfandel
Heitz Cellars Ink Grade Port
2020 Omen Pinot Noir
2019 Stoke’s Ghost Pitite Sirah
2016 Puramun Malbec
2016 Mentida Red
2019 Cheer is (almost) here
Well, wish I had bought two, but I’m very happy with my haul. Top picks at the top.
2007 Wellington Victory
2014 Peterson GCS
2018 WineSmith Grenache
2013 Two Jakes Aspects
2016 Mustilli Artus
2018 Pedroncelli Merlot
2016 Mentida Red
2019 Ion Rose

Love it! We had an 07 Victory for NYE in 2017 - such a great bottle! Will again in 2022! Don’t know anything about Andis or Artus but have had just about all the others! Thanks WD!
@SDL3 Funny - we ended up with almost the same case.
@deadlyapp I know I copy/pasted from your list to start before I realized it was you - maybe they pack the cases in order of location?? Cheers!
Here’s my haul that just arrived. I have to say this is likely the best deal that I have gotten from this site or its predecessor in over a decade of buying wine here.
@SylvesterSiler woohoo!!
@Winedavid49 so cool and y’all really pulled it off. Lot’s of great memories there too. Thanks!
@kitkat34 thank you.
Pretty sure all you iceholes are punkin’ me with these allocations! Gotta be!
Quite the collection, lotta love in this box:
2018 Joseph Jewell Pinot Noir
2016 Italics Proprietary Red
2018 Cheer From Over Here
2017 Frog’s Tooth Petite Sirah
2016 WineSmith Cab Franc
2017 Prima Materia Barbera
2014 Meeker Barrel Select Zinfandel
2019 de Négoce OG N.24 Pinot Noir
2017 Cult Cabernet
2019 Pareto’s Estate Eighty20 Old Vine Zinfandel
2014 Peterson GCS
2018 Pedroncelli Family Vineyards Petite Sirah
@james that Frogs Tooth is fantastic
@jasonjm It is! I got to try it with the mixed case in January. I’m especially interested in that GCS (grenache, carignane, syrah)
Some real gems in these cases! Wow!
Amazing! Wish I would have ordered two cases.
Only 2 bottles were the same, 2014 Harvest Moon Cab Sauv. Opened one of those last night and quite pleased.
Also got a 1991 (yes, a 1991) Wellington Victory reserve–Should I open it soon?
And if the wine wasn’t nice enough for the price, I really appreciated the $15 off code for future purchase good well into next year. Thank you!
@MidwestLizabeth nice 1991 Wellington!! That should still be pretty great…
@MidwestLizabeth The oldest vintage I received was a 2000 Wellington Zin. We opened it tonight. The cork was in bad shape but it has held up.
This is more than I was hoping for, a true mystery and variety pack. Great job @WineDavid49 and the whole team! Hopefully these were as fun to put together as it was to unbox.

Clap
1 deNegoce Cabernet S 2018
1 Frogs Tooth 2017 GSM
1 Sonoma 2018 chardonnay
1 Smith Story 2017 Cab Franc
1 Wellington 2013 Victory Reserve
1 Fetzer 2016 Anniversary Reserve Cab
1 Winesmith 2018 Saint Laurent Carneros
1 Writers Block 2017 Malbec
1 Cheers for over here 2018 Red Blend
As people have said my only regret is not ordering 2 cases. I feel like the coupon in the box should have made me pay $15 dollars more for my next case rather than receiving a discount…
@gtcharlie that Smith Story cab franc should be interesting! Didn’t know WD had any of their stuff laying around.
@GNOP Same here. My 6-pack was disappointing, looks about the same as yours.
@GNOP You could try “TRUSTINUS” to see if it’s activated for your account. Thought I saw another 6 pack post mentioning a coupon.
Thanks for the coupon and the great case! Congrats to all who got to grab one and looking forward to/good luck to all on the next!
Another super impressed customer! Thank you!
Very nice selection, thank you.
Nice selection and a new Italian varietal. Coupon is icing on the cake.
1 of 2 cases delivered today. Not sure how they got separated. Pretty interesting mix…
Heitz Ink Grade port 375ml
2016 Linen Red Wine
2019 Ryder Estate Syrah
2019 Meeker Pink Elephant Rosé
2011 Wellington Estate Syrah
2001 Meeker Four Kings
2019 Pedroncelli Merlot
2018 The Messenger Syrah 49
2019 Durigutti Bonarda
Durigutti Reserva Malbec
2017 Slingshot Cabernet
2018 Cheer from over here
Obviously love the Wellington, I had one of those left.
@wnance Case #2 arrived safely today:
2013 Two Jakes Aspects
2014 Meeker ZMS
2018 Hawley Viognier
2020 Black Zeppelin Zinfandel
2021 Stolpman La Cuadrilla
2013 Preston Family Cab Sauv Howell Mountain
2017 Heir Apparent Cab Sauv Atlas Peak
2016 Mustilli Artus
2020 Ivory and Burt Cab Sauv
2018 OG de Negoce Pinot Noir Carneros
2017 Vigilance Cimarron
2020 Thomas Henry Pinot Noir Sonoma County
@liquidbluenight @wnance dinner random and exciting wines from Meeker in here. That four Kings ought to be excellent.
Had almost as much fun reading the posts seeing what everyone else got.
@LincolnMics and the half-case (shoulda got more full cases)
@LincolnMics Gotta say, “You got a great half case!”
@LincolnMics I just opened a Moonspell a couple of days ago.
The Highway 12 was delicious, would buy again.
1 of the Mustilli Artus I think was corked, the second I opened the same night was drinkable but not my cup of tea at all.
Everything else is in storage for now, I’ll update here as we try them.
2 x 2017 Barrel Burn Cab Sav
2017 Smith Story Pinot Noir
2014 Meeker ZSM
2018 The Messenger 614 Cab Sav
2008 Nysa Vineyard Pinot Noir
2016 Warp+Weft Shweshwe Red Blend
2016 Wine Smith Cab Franc
2017 QPR
2018 Avivo Sangovese
2017 Bellenos Roes of Gamay Noir
1991 Wellington Cab Sav
Any idea on the drinking window of the Wellington? I’m excited about this one, just not sure how much longer it might have left.
2015 Cisco de Nice Mostilli (??)
2016 Berry Bros Red Blend
2018 Acoya Red Blend
2018 Peterson Mendo Blendo
2019 Winesmith Grenache
2021 Villa Wolf Pinot Noir Rose
Familiar with Winesmith and I have had a different Peterson, others will be new/surprise.
@smtcapecod The Mendo Blendo is a great everyday crowd pleaser. I bet you will enjoy; don’t know the others besides the WS.
2008 Nyssa Pinot Noir
2013 Irwin Family “The Mix” Rioja Blend
2016 Steele Zinfandel Catfish Vineyard
2012 Wellington Petite Verdot Sarlo Vineyard
NV? Vigilance “Cimarron” Red Blend
2013 Dcubed Zinfandel Brown Vineyard Napa
2013 Onesta Cinsaut Bechthold Vineyard
2017 Casemates QPR Select Red Blend
2011 Henry Fessy Chateau des Reyssiers “Regnie” Gamay
2017 Bellenos Rosé of Gamay Noir
2018 Kukeri Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain Napa
2013 Y. Rousseau “The Musketeer” Tannat Alder Springs Vineyard
Love the variety. I have a few of those exact Wellington PVs, but unless I got a coveted <2000 vintage bottle, I would likely have received one I already owned. And there isn’t nothing wrong with that!
Thanks for this offer, and the coupon!
@KNmeh7 the Nyssa, Kukeri, and Musketeer should all be excellent. Despite getting a bottle of victory I might have preferred yours!

2015 Peterson Barbera, Tollini Vineyard
2013 Wellington Victory

2013 Y Rousseau Tannat
@karenhynes Holy shit! That is a haul.
@KNmeh7 I need to poke around a bit and look into the less familiar bottles.
@karenhynes @knmeh7 i remember this one. glad it got to you @karenhynes.
@Winedavid49…pushing me outside of my comfort zone!
Thanksgiving is cleaned up, time enough to post my case. I don’t know enough to be elated or dissapointed, but I’m pretty happy. Nice selection, only one Chardonnay, so there’s that to be thankful for.

2018 Denier Handal Don Angelo
2020 Omen Pinot Noir
2017 Slingshot Cab
2019 Casa Chardonnay
I guess I’ll do my research and see what’s up, but more likely I just drink it, enjoy it, and not worry about the reviews.
Apologies if I misspelled something, I can’t read my own handwriting on this turkey buzz I have going
Half case, here.
2018 Marshall Davis Pinot Noir
2021 Villa Wolf Pinot Noir Rose
2018 The Messenger Cabernet Sauvignon
2015 Mustilli Cesco di Nece
2017 Moonspell Cabernet Sauvignon
2017 Tollini Zero Manipulation
Super happy with the quality and variety. Thanks, Casemates!
Just opened my six pack. Kicking myself for not buying a case, and I was crossing my fingers for some Wellington. I only know the rosé but I have faith in the others. Thanks for the fun, Wootish mystery opportunity, Casemates!

2013 Fort Ross Reserve Pinot Noir
2011 Wellington Syrah
2019 Durigutti Bonarda
2015 Tin Barn Zinfandel
2011 Sanssouci “Le Rouge” Red
Son Of A Butcher Red

2019 Casa Chard.
2019 Cheer is (almost) Here
2016? Writers Block Syrah
2001 Meeker Four Kings
Not yet sure where on the good wine bell curve this selection falls, but I am looking forward to most of them, even if just for the fun of it. A waxed cork on the Fort Ross is a bit intimidating NGL.
Even coming from the woot BOC perspective, this is an impressive variety being reported with less repetition than I would have guessed. Great job casematees!
@jastarboard just run your corkscrew right through the wax and pretend it’s not there.
We are super happy with our case! Can’t wait to try these.
there were some great cases, it was fun to read all of them. I had to wait patiently until today to get my case, and I have to say I’m pretty stoked…
2018 The Messenger Cab Sauvignon 614
2016 Linen Red Blend
2013 Piedra Creek Pinot Noir
2018 Cheer from Over Here red blend from Pedroncelli
2016 Fetzer Anniversary Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

2014 Peterson Bradford Mountain Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
2018 WineSmith Petit Verdot
2016 Pedroncelli Sonoma Classico
2017 SmithStory Cabernet Franc
2016 Keller Estate La Cruz Vineyard Pinot Noir
and…
1991 Wellington Victory Red Blend…!!!
I think I did ok, correct?
@frankster14 Wow, that’s quite a case. I think you win!!!
@frankster14 Nice! I’ve collected every one of those over the years here, except for the SmithStory Cab Franc. Good haul.
My guess is that it probably got jostled a lot so maybe we’ll give the bottles some time to settle back down…What’s great is that there isn’t a single bottle that I already have…
@phatbob01 clearly then, you don’t purchase frequently enough
@rjquillin or drink everything else more slowly
Late to the party due to Thanksgiving travels. Here’s what was delivered today:
NV Harvest Moon RandyZin
2017 Hawley Old Vine Zinfandel
2017 Kunde Estate Zinfandel Sonoma Valley
2016 Mentida
2013 Onesta Cinsaut
2019 Meeker Pink Elephant Rosé
Casemates QPR Select (original Paso Robles version)
2016 Bergevin Lane Linen Red Wine
2017 Smith Story Cabernet Franc
2016 WineSmith Cabernet Franc
2018 Pedroncelli Petit Sirah
2013 Wellington Victory
It’s interesting that the last three were on the bottom layer of the box – kind of like digging for buried treasure!
@Mark_L drinking that 2017 Kunde Zin right now, the finish is meh(mehtallicy) but it’s definitely not bad and growing on me by the sip.
@LincolnMics @Mark_L love the feedback!
***@deadlyapp @Mark_L @Winedavid49
@Mark_L @PLSemenza @Winedavid49 doubtful. I thought i had seen rumors at one point that David bought out all the remainder of Peter’s wine and then packaged and sold it how he saw fit. Perhaps there wasnt enough Victory to make good offers and previous Wellington mysteries were already Victory laden. Shrug.
@deadlyapp @Mark_L @PLSemenza @Winedavid49
However it came to be acquired, we should all be thankful, imo,
that it was.
I seem to recall much of the inventory went to east coast outlets.
@deadlyapp @PLSemenza @rjquillin @Winedavid49 I am definitely thankful! As I’ve said, this was a “Mystery Case Redemption” par excellence.
Wow, just popped the 1995 wellington zin!
Brick color.
Showing tertiary, raisin, oak, toffee.
Hint of Jimmy fruit. Very integrated tannins, smooth tart cherry acidic
Medium long finish.
I can totally see why. Wellington makes a zinfidel based port. Super enjoyable experience. Cork almost made it out intact… Almost
