1Currently looking to occur Dec 18.
SoCal folk, it’s been far too long since we hosted our last gathering! Since then, we’ve had a second kid, a global pandemic, and vaccines for said pandemic.
It’s time to get together again. I know it’s Thanksgiving and Xmas season coming up, but what dates can you all make in the coming couple months? Aside from Nov 27, all the Saturdays should be good for us for now.
(And yes, I’m counting last year’s swap meet as #55)

Yeah, december is better for me. November we have plans on those saturday evenings already.

Hey all, we would love to join during December. Any of the listed dates are open for us.
We are heading back to the west coast Dec 9, but we will have guests from out of town both Saturdays we are there is December. We will try to do something later in the winter, but keep us posted on any other SoCal events.

We ended the week having to do a penalty thermal-vac today on an IR camera that is under performing and we need additional data on, so highly unlikely. We we had a late night Friday chasing leaks for a new cold plate we built earlier for the test today.

What protocols will be optional/enforced?
@rjquillin Covid? All are expected to be vaccinated. If somebody unvaccinated would like to come then they can hang out in the back or wear a mask indoors. Obviously if feeling sick then stay home if unvaccinated. Since our oldest will have just had his first shot and the younger isn’t eligible that’s the house rule (and has been for ages). We’re on the honour system, of course.

Theme - given that it’s in the middle of the Christmachannukwanzakah complex, how about wines that go with those foods. Things like latkes, brisket, ham, turkey, stuffing, prime rib, mac & cheese, gumbo, gingerbread, doughnuts, and so on…

@CorTot Hope the tests are negative! Although if the situation changes and cookie day needs to be postponed you are obviously welcome to rejoin last minute.

A couple weeks ago when I was down with symptoms I grabbed some of those rapid test kits that suggest positive or negative in 15~30 minutes. Reported negative as the PCR results a couple days later confirmed. I think they were only ~$20 or so at a CVS and I’ll now make sure to keep some around…
@klezman @rjquillin im not super trusting of those, last week my sister in law was negative on one of those but then positive a couple days later on a lab run test.
We have an urgent care down the street that’s a rapid 15 minute test and free with insurance. so we use that. The city also tests for free and those are 24 hour results.
My son was negative thank fully. But Candace wont be back home until after dinner so unfortunately it wont work out this time.
