2019 Black Zeppelin Zinfandel, Hill of Graceland, Estate Bottled
Tasting Notes
As the complexity of its composition might suggest, this wine has a wide variety spectrum of aromas and flavors (something like Moab cherry is in there) and includes an unspecifiable amount of our Primitivo, which was fermented with the Zinfandel. Though all estate grown, this is not a field blend, but an assembly made after pressing the separate varieties.
2019 Lost Mine Alicante Bouschet, Paso Robles, Estate Bottled
Tasting Notes
Not only darker, but bigger and richer than its parent Grenache, which was what we grafted over to Alicante Bouschet from. (The relationship does not come from the grafting: Alicante Bouschet is a cross of Grenache with Aramon and Teinturier du Cher.) There is an aroma suggestive of smoked venison that may be just as intentionally coincidental, though the predatory deer were seen eating the Viognier vines.

2019 Colossus Syrah, Hill of Graceland, Willow Creek District
Tasting Notes
As the label depicts, this is indeed the Colossus of Rhones. Syrah usually produces decently moderate to indecently immoderate crop levels, but by soil, vine training and when needed, savage thinning, we intentionally get barely enough fruit to make a single bottle of wine per vine. Picked so ripe that the potential alcohol would exceed Port levels (which are both inadvisable and unachievable except by fortification) instead we carefully add Jesus units (aka dihydrogen oxide) in stages to prevent stuck fermentation. The results have spoken for themselves, though those who attempt to relish more than one bottle at a time are not always capable of doing so.

2019 Dynamite Hill TNT Tannat, Estate Bottled
Tasting Notes
The fortuitous location of the vineyard and our âdonât-try-to-squeeze-every-drop-out-of-the-must-you-beano-abstaining-bungâ methods show that this variety isnât naturally or unnaturally tannic or rustic, just because it sounds and was once made that way in a far corner of France: (Mad I ran*, from the first I tasted.) In the paws of our cellar monkey, itâs closer to a lost Bordeaux variety, without the leafiness; while it rivals our Zinfandel in focus and purity, it has more weight with lower alcohol (31 proof). Two-thirds aged in new oak barrels from the forests below Draculaâs castle. Itâs explosively serious wine.

2019 Dynamite Hill Tempranillo, Estate Bottled
Tasting Notes
Parsimonious plants on a savage slope, probably the steepest section on the Hill of Graceland - not difficult to grow but a real Pendejo to pick. Spicier than the Tannat that crowns the hill and often complements it, but itâs more than distinct enough to not blend them every vintage - I have kept the wines apart in recent years rather than . . . fusing them. We have no âhouse styleâ: within the limits of scientific enology (is that Fecaldynamic salad dressing really $140 a bottle?) fine wine should be unique, varied, interesting. Interesting less than fascinating and delicious, though. About the label: we still havenât bombed the damn rock.

Winemaking Notes
I use âestate bottledâ and âgrown, fermented and bottledâ interchangeably, and in the sense that all the grapes that went into these wine so named were grown on the contiguous property, the Hill of Graceland, which small though it is straddles the Adelaida and Willow Creek sub-appellations of Paso Robles.

Authorized insubordination a mere decade ago by consulting winemaker, legend, and ex- Stillman Brown of Red Zeppelin infamy and his late but insufficiently silent partner Dan Lewis of Jory Winery, Zeppelin Winery is a risibly small producer of wines that one of them believes are at least more than good enough to have pretty much anything on the label.
Over the last several years, most of the wines have been from grapes grown by our infamous client (redacted) and located in two recently concocted sub-appellations of west Paso Robles that split the hidden Hill of Graceland vineyard. Visitors are generally discouraged, especially if they are unlucky enough to find us. There is no tasting room. Sales are almost exclusively to our email list - there is no club to join or quit, just an invitation to a party when the one who isnât dead yet has a âmajor birthdayâ.

@kawichris650 We split it up over 3 nights but I am enjoying a glass as I type this⊠maybe there is a correlation to the number of edits to my original post (4) and the proof of the beverage (although the Temp. is ONLY 15.5%)?
Iâve been looking for more of Stillmanâs wines for a long time, to no avail. The colossus zin from many years ago was also realatively high alc, but tasted amazing, and you couldnât taste the %, but noticed it upon standing up. After the flavor blew you off your feet. Stillman, Iâve missed you! and your wines, that I actually used to find and buy up at Spencerâs. Keep stomping em and Iâll keep buying em when I can.
@garyzim Get on his mailing list. Thatâs your best bet at finding his wines. No fees, no club charge, just the occasional email of offers. Well, actually, a bit more than that, the emails themselves can be quite entertaining.
@JOATMON Gee thanks!! I didnât even know if he still had a winery and didnât know about the mailing list! He is quite a character and makes awesome wines. Will be spending more time in his area, so I hope to see him again.
Appreciate the info! But⊠Iâve searched for his winery online, and only get to a 404 page. Happened a while ago when I tried to find him, and I figured heâd stopped making wine or moved from the area. Iâd love to get on his mailing list, but how? Muchas thankyous.
@garyzim Hey there! I was just in Spencers last night and wondered why Jim (the manager) had not been seen in a while - I was afraid he fell off his hang glider - but heâs ok. Anyway I had to cut them off a few years ago - putting UPC stickers on my bottles was just too humiliating! Well, that and my âinventory problemâ aka no supply.
I am thinking that I should go by his house tonight and put up some little paper airplane hang gliders with skeletons hanging from them on his truck.
@chipgreen@garyzim@ZeppelinWinery Thatâs the email address the last email blast from him came from. I dunno why Iâm telling you this; I donât need the competition. And, Iâm surprised that he hasnât chimed in to give the definitive answer.
This is a long writeup, so TLDR to the last paragraph for the summary on why you want this wine!
2019 Dynamite Hill Tempranillo, Estate Bottled
Good evening all! My wife and I were very excited to receive another notice the Brown Truck had a special delivery for us! The package shipped on Monday and arrived Tuesday nice and cool. Upon opening the package we were thrilled to see a bottle of 2019 Dynamite Hill Tempranillo! It was placed in the wine fridge overnight to get some rest.
First a little disclosure. We are not very familiar with Tempranillo and last drank a non-blend (2015 Buena Vista) in 2018, and our last of the 2013 Twisted Oak Spaniard about 2 years ago. We also do not drink a lot of Paso wines and are not very familiar with the region. Disclosures out of the way, we were excited to try something new!
That said, I did a little Googling to find some similar wines to try next to it to help everyone judge our tasting experience. The interwebz told me some Cab Sauvs, Tannat, and Carignane had some similar qualities. Without reading about typical notes which could impact our tasting we pick a couple bottles to open over the course of several nights. I am waiting to pick up a couple bottles of the Rioja offered here a few weeks back. Kicking myself for not being more proactive as it would have been perfect! - next time!
Night 1 the wine was allowed to warm to 65F before the initial pop and pour. Our tasting crew included another couple, one of which loves older cabs and the other isnât too picky if itâs dry. My SO and I enjoy dry wines but typically with more age on them⊠this is our first 2019 red we have opened! We tasted out of both Nachtmann Bordeaux glasses and Spiegelau universals. We also opened a 2017 Pedroncelli Three Vineyards cab and a 2015 Buena Vista Carignane to taste next to the Tempranillo.
The bottle looks great and has a nice punt and weight. No capsule and just a dab of wax on top of the agglomerated cork which is stained less than 1mm. The labeling is minimal with no back label, but very fun! I would at take a look at this wine if I saw it on a shelf at a wine shop. enter image description here
The wine has good viscosity and long legs. It is deep ruby in color with the edge a little lighter.
PnP and starting with the Nachtmanns, I immediately smell grape Dimetapp. Everyone has a chuckle, but over the course of the evening this was the dominate smell for me. As a kid I loved the taste, so this isnât a bad note at all. We also got prunes, old raisins, some meatiness, alcohol, and an initial acetic acid which blew off after a few minutes. Taste was very smooth, tannis are definitely present but not overpowering, and plums.
Moving to the universals, I again got grape Dimetapp, and we also had tartness, bing cherries, raisins, and some acetone after a swirl. More of the same tastes above but smoother.
Dinner consisted of hot wings (wing Wednesday!) and the sauce overpowered the wines, so we stuck with San Pellegrino until after dinner.
3 hours after opening, the wine was undrinkable out of the Bordeaux glasses with a nose of old raisins. The taste was rum raisin bread, alcohol, Robitussin, and way more astringent.
The universals were a completely different story! The nose was much smoother and more integrated, but still smelled of raisins and had a little bit of a citrus note as well. Taste was the same as before but without the acetone and very smooth.
The Pedroncelli was nearly undrinkably closed and tight (as I figured), so we each had a small glass and agreed it needed a day or two (or decade!) for mellowing out. The Carignane was the WOT for my wife, very balanced and smooth.
Comparing the three, it was surprising how approachable the Tempranillo was considering it is so young. Tasting side by side, you could tell the Tempranillo was a very high-quality wine even though they all had differing taste profiles. Overall, the wine tastes like it has some RS which put off 2 of the 4 tasters. The style is more extracted than we usually drink but not nearly as jammy as some Parkerized Napa cabs. This was WOT for myself and I would not hesitate to open it at a small party.
We recorked the half bottle of remaining wine under air and stored in the pantry for the next night.
Day two was just my wife and myself. We used the same two glasses and drank it next to a glass of the Pedroncelli (most of which is being saved until tomorrow) and a 2013 Y Rousseau Tannat âThe Musketeerâ.
Starting with the Bordeaux glasses we got a nose of plums, some astringency which blew off after a few minutes, and then some cocoa. After a swirl the plums became more pronounced and there was some other dark fruit present. The wine smells deep and powerful. Palate has mellowed out even more and not nearly as âin your faceâ as yesterday. It still tastes fairly extracted with sour cherry, leather, and a very juicy acidity which lingers for quite some time on the finish. Definitely better from the Bordeaux glasses this evening!
The universals added some floral notes to the above on the nose, while tasting was muted compared to yesterday, but there was pomegranate and cherry.
We are saving the remaining wine for another glass tomorrow as I suspect it will be even better.
The Pedroncelli was more open than yesterday but definitely a different style of wine. The tannat was very nice but again more restrained in style and not really a good wine to compare. I am pretty upset we did not open a good bottle to have next to this⊠the logical conclusion is we need more variety of wine!
Overall, the wine seems very high quality and I would not be upset if I paid $40+ a bottle at a liquor store and a killer price here would be $30 / bottle for the case. In my opinion it is a more fun bottle to open on a high energy night with upbeat music and friends, not a serious wine which you sit around and sip on a quiet evening in a deep ponder. I feel we opened this way too young, especially considering how the character evolved over 2 nights and between glasses. I would be very interested to hear from the winemaker on the projected longevity and I would guess this would be very interesting in the late 2020s. Even though it isnât the style my SO prefers, it is a really nice bottle of wine and I would be happy to drink it!
We will report back tomorrow for some tastes on day 3!
@knlprez I do not drink a lot of cough medicine but the first night thatâs what I tasted!
If we did not have negative space in our wine fridge and offsite storage we would be in for a case. If anyone in Denver wants to split let me know, we may take a set!
@kawichris650
My pleasure! I am admittedly terrible at pricing wine and I did the write up before the offer went live. I would say $32.50 is also quite âkillerâ
I just realized that I have been paying a Swiss chemist $1.22/ml for something I could bribed a bum to shoplift a case of from a downtown Bakersfield drugstore?!?
No wonder Iâm driving a noisy little car with a dozen deer dents (and said Vehicle can usually fit whatever my current bottled inventory is).
I think I saw a question above! So if I only had one bottle of that Tempranillo and wanted to taste it âat its peakâ when would I open it? 2026? That canât be too far off because there is considerable similarity between it and the 2014 which I amazingly found a bottle of last week. I canât tell you what it was like the second day because my brother-out-law, the big not so dumb jock, (retired NFL center) made it disappear somehow.
@kawichris650@ZeppelinWinery
Please do not take the Dimetapp reference the wrong way, it really was a pleasurable smell for myself and no one else got it or even an artificial grape flavor. I am sure it is just me! My SO is the best taster out of our friends and she did not get it, so I am sure something was just wacky with my nose yesterday.
But hanks for the info on longevity. If we had 3 or 4 bottles, I could see trying to drink 1 every 18 months⊠but knowing my family, we would open 1 to try, then the others would somehow also get opened over the course of the evening!
I can understand how the bottle disappeared quickly, it is great juice! We had to open 2 other bottles to act as buffers so we had some remaining to try on day 2!
@kawichris650@knlprez Take a dime bag the wrong way? Never! (I once smelled fiberglass resin in an Ohio fruit wine, but I think that guy was cheating too.).
Day 3. The wine is fantastic out of the universals. Very smooth and integrated without the raisin flavors from the first night. My SO enjoys it as well tonight. It is a little harsh out of the Bordeaux glasses. This is getting finished tonight even though day 4 would be interesting to see how itâs holding up.
Pairing with grilled cheese and tomato soup.
Thanks again for the rat bottle, and hope everyone enjoys their weekend!
Iâve missed these wines - loved what I had/ drank⊠Somehow Iâve not been able to to get on the mailing list. In for a case, and hopefully future purchases.
@ZeppelinWinery ha. Yes I did. I remember digging around for an email address, and thought it might have just gotten lost in the web universe. I would welcome being spammed!
@ZeppelinWinery
What matters is you are joining the conversation!
I have a question based off the bottle of Tempranillo we ratted. What do you expect for aging potential? The 2019 seemed very young at this point and I am curious what you think will happen to it over the coming decade.
Thanks for popping in, the offers are always more fun with winery participation!
A few inquiring minds would like to know⊠how does one go about getting on the email list for your wine offers? Iâm sure there must be a secret knock, codeword, handshake, etc.
@knlprez
Answered above /
Well, sort of!
Pardon the rhymeâŠand the time
It took me to write all that shite.
Groan.
A friend of mine a couple miles down the highway has a jam room & recording studio, a sometime hangout of mine. Metal, punk, rap, hip hop, etc?!? Maybe twice a year I would inadvertently make a rhyme that was actually good, whereupon I would be called the ân-wordâ by someone less than half my age and, oh, call it blanc factor. Itâs absurdly cute. But Iâll control myself in this forum.
If anyone from Las Vegas area want to split a case, Iâm really interested ok these winesâŠprobably we can split 4/4/4. These ones sounds really interesting
I donât want to disparage the offer, but what is so special about these wines? Except for Corison (and Stillman), I have tried almost every darling that has been offered.
They are wildly expensive for not Napa, the ABV is robust, to say the least, aged at the bare minimum, so⊠what is up?
Does everyone just think he is cool with quirky labels and descriptions? Or is this the real deal?
@KNmeh7 I bought the last offer here but dare not open them because of how young they are, and now he comes up again and similarly Iâm wondering if it should be an autobuy and hold or sit back. Decisions decisions.
@KNmeh7 this is kinda how I feel about the Stillman wines. They are very good, and a little offbeat, but the price is a stretch for me. At $25 Iâd be in for a case. This difference might just be the general price creep lately
@KNmeh7@rmm989@deadlyapp They are the real deal, and this is a good price. Add to that the quirkiness and fun, and the difficulty in getting these wines, and this is a very attractive offer to many folks.
But I can only afford the most attractive offers for me. With my limited budget, I have to pass up the âreally goodâ deals and hold out for the âsuper greatâ qpr deals, on less expensive wines.
@KNmeh7@PatrickKarcher@rmm989 Thankfully Iâm buying less wine these days so I donât mind splurging a bit for the oddballs here and there. I just get sad because I end up never drinking these higher price wines because Iâm worried about drinking them too early or wanting a special occasion!
@KNmeh7 So, after a few hours, no one has chimed in that they bought. Because⊠$35 a bottle, yikes! Paso Robles.
If Stillman is participating, (he is) then there should be some defense of the price. ~$60 MSRP for Paso Syrah, you must have been high on your own supply.
@KNmeh7 This was an autobuy for me. We have found that his wines are quite drinkable, even with the high numbers. Iâve bought plenty through his email list, too.
@KNmeh7
Stillmanâs wines are âthe real dealâ for me but as with almost any producer, some are better than others. My favorite wine of his, the Black Zeppelin Petite Sirah, is unfortunately not part of the offer but I am also a big fan of the Colossus Syrah. I havenât had the others to be able to say much about them but there are multiple factors at play here, at least for me.
While these wines probably donât clock in at as high a QPR as many other Casemate deals, they are rare and fleeting opportunities to get some of his micro-production wines. There is a cult of personality involved as well, with Swillyâs rock-star persona, rapier wit and quirky labels. But the wines themselves also tend to be damn good, havenât had a bad bottle from Stillman yet.
2019 Lost Mine Alicante Bouschet, Paso Robles, Estate Bottled
So we received a nice ringing of our doorbell from Mr. UPS. And after I opened the box, I immediately opened the bottle. Alicante Bouschet, especially young, needs air. I already knew that.
Opened it at almost exactly 4pm. While dinner was being prepared about an hour and a half later, I poured it through a Vinturi into our Reidel glasses. Color of this is a dark inky purple/black, as expected.
Initially on the nose we (and by that I mean mostly my wife @cheron98) get stewed plums and cedar.
On the palate we get a nice blend of mixed berries, mostly raspberry/blackberry and some tart cherry. Itâs still quite hot on mouthfeel. The finish has a little bramble taste to it, which is slightly off-putting.
After those first few initial sipsâŠand then immediately ran it through the vinturi a second time.
The nose now had rose notes as well, and the cherry on the palate is more forward. Still some bramble on the finish.
When we moved on to dinner, the wine was much better with food. The bramble/fresh wood finish isnât as noticeable. It was enjoyable with the meal.
Had about a third of the bottle left and that was just stoppered and put into the fridge.
Next night took it out again for dinner. After warming up and tasting, it was mostly similar to the prior night, but the bramble finish that we didnât care for had subsided a good amount. With any luck, the same would happen with just more time in bottle. It was certainly quite enjoyable with our second nightâs meal.
Definitely a good wine, and a grape varietal we both like. Just needs to be cellared a bit and/ or decanted or opened well before drinking at the moment. Thanks again for the opportunity to share our tasting experience.
@salcorn Questions:
if a skeleton is knocking on your door, do you answer it?
Um⊠No?
But, it has a pizza!
OK, then, Yes?
But⊠itâs from Dominos.
OK, then, No.
As I read this offer, the comparison with Sabelli Frisch comes to mind. Both are smaller scale wineries working with lesser known varietals. Would be interesting to hear comparisons.
2019 Colossus Syrah, Hill of Graceland, Willow Creek District
So I got the lovely opportunity to rat this wine. The first thing i notedâŠas I am sure you all did as well is that this Syrah is 17.2 freaking percent. Rock On.
Some pictures below, the wine was a garnet color and had legs for days. The first and second days I had the wine without food, the third day I had it with some pork sausage chili.
On opening, the wine had scents of black fruits (blackberry, blackcherry) and almost a fruitcake smell. It may have been this in combination with the alcohol that literally sent me back to a memory of enjoying a post dinner port at a local restaurant. First to note with the taste is that the alcohol is not overwhelming, this wine is very well put together. The fruity aroma translated to taste. I was actually surprised by the taste as I am use to more tannic and peppery wine. This wine was jammy but in a great way (i normally donât like wines with more fruit notes). I canât put my finger on it, but i really enjoyed the taste of this wine. The second day was very similar with the fruit notes and on the third day, while it still held up, the blackberry/blackcherry tastes kind of withdrew into a more baking spice/smoky taste.
Overall, I really enjoyed this wine and was hoping that it would be around $25 casemates price. I see it is a little higher but I still think I will be purchasing the 4 pack at the least and I am stingy
It is currently not letting my upload my pictures and giving me an error but I will keep trying. I keep getting âUpload Failedâ
Thanks for the review! If I can somehow managed to answer here without using speech to text I could offer some irrelevant remarks OK Tim Cook got that one right and give my little dine in absurd opinions
Eno dine no a NODYNE I like the sexond mangled speech to text though
@ZeppelinWinery Apple watch?
I tried speech-to-text and was surprised it kind-of worked, but I only try 3-4 words at a time. I wouldnât dare try a whole sentence!
Edit: You need to come rolling in like our favorites, describing vintage, production, what you did to this wine. (Shhh⊠itâs a âsecret vineyardâ, yea, right.) your specs, your manipulation, why this is a friggin booze fest, and so on.
@CruelMelody Because it is a sale. They are selling. They do not need (maybe they do) my money, but they want. So⊠You best sell it! Sorry, I donât kowtow to every offer like a shill.
I wasnât a labrat, but I give these wines 99 out of 100. Is that better?
@CruelMelody
Only some crazy hybrid of Wellington, Scott Harvey, Winesmith, and Pedroncelli could achieve a perfect 100 (or possibly even magically surpass it).
Email BINGO! ZinfanZINGO
âPackage on the wayâ is always a good thing to read from Wine Country Connect.
This arrived in time for menu planning. Searched for pairings and investigated the pantry: Home-made red sauce and meatballs! Got the sauce on the simmer while the cold bottle rested. Lots of simmering, 24+ hours later, DW made a green salad and kid made garlic bread. While the meatballs were browning, the time for pop-and-pour arrived.
Nice medium red, not thin, not inky, just about the middle of the expected range. Strong red almost all the way to the edge of the glass
Cork only slightly colored, firm seal. First sniff (in full body glass, not those pictured) detected a little alcohol, a subtle bouquet of red fruits. I swirl for bouquet activation, but donât do legs, so no comments there.
On first taste: âMMMMmmmmmâ Sweet, Spicy"
DWâs first taste: âMmmmm - Tastyâ One quick sneeze to confirm her infallible sulfite detector. Always just one. What a gal!
I noted a faint echo of oak and cherries. The cherries were first, just took longer to put the name to. Oak is ok even if in the background. DW noted a âcherry undertoneâ.
At dinner with the red sauce and meatballs, we both found it a good pairing for the meal. Neither found a huge leap in change of character or aspect with the food but found it very food friendly, easy drinking. I found the mouth feel gentle, round and smooth. Unfortunately(?) it followed the dispatch earlier this week of a 2005 Wellington Victory (cork: bad, wine: amazing). For comparison we poured and shared a glass of the Pedroncelli Sangiovese (which went into the sauce the day before). We both like the Sangiovese pairing, but for conflicting reasons. I thought it cut more cleanly through the strong sauce flavor, she thought the Zin was the sharper cut and preferred the Sangio as a pairing.
With dessert, no more energy for custom cooking, so defaulted to CHOCOLATE. Found no huge leaps there either, just more good pairing.
Unfortunately, due to an early snowy bike ride obligation, I had to pass on the Zinfandel assisted Scrambled eggs with green chile and cheddar pairing. Iâll post second day report in the comments.
I also wanted to add, although my first reaction was âSweetâ this is NOT a sweet wine. Very⊠medium. Not in a bad way, just medium. Iâm hoping to split a case AND get the Tannat.
All this weirdness and a dustup to boot! Awesome possum blossom. Oh wait thatâs someone elseâs gigg. Too lofty for my walletâŠabd more than my pallet deserves. But hey, when other refugees from the island of misfit toys overflow into the world, itâs time to support the cause.
/giphy swanky-fiery-volcano
I have always liked his wines. Bought 2011 Red and Black Zepps on Woot when they did that thing. Just bought a case in the Houston/Katy/Richmond area if anyone is interested in taking some of it.
So when I originally broke my 12 out with @kls_in_md I did not take any Zinfandel, mostly because I was worried about yet another traditional Zin style that tastes like everything else and I already had Zin to drink. @Zortapa gave a few of us an opportunity to buy from @ZeppelinWinery via the email list and I picked up some missed bottles we did not get in our 12 and a re-do on the Zin for me. WineDavid please feel free to bring these guys back for a redo! I may not share my case this time, and of course thanks to Z for the opp to refill my gaps (Abalone Vermentino, Viognier, Alicante, Tannat, Syrah).
Really kicking myself for not buying a case of this. Just had the Alicante over the weekend and itâs superb. Iâve been hoarding my stillman and itâs the first bottle Iâve had. Hope to see more soon!

MEALS! DEALS! EELS! AWESOME!
@garyzim Try swillyidle@gmail.com
@garyzim @JOATMON
He has moved on from AOL?
@chipgreen @garyzim @ZeppelinWinery Thatâs the email address the last email blast from him came from. I dunno why Iâm telling you this; I donât need the competition. And, Iâm surprised that he hasnât chimed in to give the definitive answer.
@chipgreen @JOATMON AOL seems to work. (Iâm a little surprised AOL is still even there - another Compuserve.)
@garyzim @JOATMON
âŠor Prodigy
@garyzim
Iâm surprised (but glad) the AOL email worked.
Itâs a good thing he doesnât rely on AIM, as that was officially ended.
@kawichris650 @chipgreen @JOATMON Okay, weâre all old Internet farts.
@knlprez
Thanks for taking the time to share such a thorough review!
Perhaps WD can work on twisting Swillyâs arm just a little further next time in order to reach that âkillerâ price threshold haha.
@kawichris650
My pleasure! I am admittedly terrible at pricing wine and I did the write up before the offer went live. I would say $32.50 is also quite âkillerâ
@kawichris650 @knlprez
@kawichris650 @ZeppelinWinery
LEGOS! EGGOS! STRATEGO! AWESOME!
@knlprez Thank you for the informative review.
@kawichris650 @knlprez Take a dime bag the wrong way? Never! (I once smelled fiberglass resin in an Ohio fruit wine, but I think that guy was cheating too.).
@kawichris650 @knlprez @ZeppelinWinery
Do tellâŠ
@chipgreen @kawichris650 @knlprez @ZeppelinWinery
Step away from the Ohio fruit wineâŠ
@knlprez
In
Iâve missed these wines - loved what I had/ drank⊠Somehow Iâve not been able to to get on the mailing list. In for a case, and hopefully future purchases.
@jshaver Did you email me once, but I never spammed you? Damnit⊠I need an IT minionâŠ
@ZeppelinWinery ha. Yes I did. I remember digging around for an email address, and thought it might have just gotten lost in the web universe. I would welcome being spammed!
I canât believe I didnât remember that this started at 9 PM Pacific time.
@ZeppelinWinery
@ZeppelinWinery
Arriving fashionably late to the party huh?
A few inquiring minds would like to know⊠how does one go about getting on the email list for your wine offers? Iâm sure there must be a secret knock, codeword, handshake, etc.
@knlprez
I didnât do the podcast, but if a picture tells a thousand . . . lies? No photo button here!
If anyone from Las Vegas area want to split a case, Iâm really interested ok these winesâŠprobably we can split 4/4/4. These ones sounds really interesting
@osmercontreras still debating on this one.
Iâm in. You had me at Zeppelin Winery. Let me know if you want some
/giphy overwrought-guttural-biscuit
@KNmeh7 @rmm989 @deadlyapp They are the real deal, and this is a good price.
@PatrickKarcher
Iâm in the same boat. Itâs a bummer to have to pass on these, but those who buy in will surely be rewarded.
@KNmeh7 @PatrickKarcher @rmm989 Thankfully Iâm buying less wine these days so I donât mind splurging a bit for the oddballs here and there.
@KNmeh7
@HitAnyKey42 Thank you for reviewing

Canât pass up a 17.2% Syrah!
@salcorn âWhereâs my drink?â
@salcorn Questions:
if a skeleton is knocking on your door, do you answer it?
Um⊠No?
But, it has a pizza!
OK, then, Yes?
But⊠itâs from Dominos.
OK, then, No.
@pmarin LOL! I completely agree.
As I read this offer, the comparison with Sabelli Frisch comes to mind. Both are smaller scale wineries working with lesser known varietals. Would be interesting to hear comparisons.
@hscottk ordered S-F on berserker day. Iâll report back in 5 years.
@kray05 Thatâs for the review. I was especially curious about the Syrah.
Thanks for the review! If I can somehow managed to answer here without using speech to text I could offer some irrelevant remarks OK Tim Cook got that one right and give my little dine in absurd opinions
Eno dine no a NODYNE I like the sexond mangled speech to text though
@ZeppelinWinery Apple watch?
I tried speech-to-text and was surprised it kind-of worked, but I only try 3-4 words at a time. I wouldnât dare try a whole sentence!
Any splits IN NOVA/Md? No room for more than 6 but would find a way to split half fairly⊠otherwise Iâll get 4 and b happy.
@bunnymasseuse Not I, sadly.
@bunnymasseuse Iâll do a 50-50 with ya!
@kls_in_MD THERE we goâŠ
@kls_in_MD
Splitz to be done on arrival
/giphy agonizing-illustrious-pleasure
I didnât know Tim Cook made wine.
Edit: You need to come rolling in like our favorites, describing vintage, production, what you did to this wine. (Shhh⊠itâs a âsecret vineyardâ, yea, right.) your specs, your manipulation, why this is a friggin booze fest, and so on.
So happy you have an Apple Watch. How classy.
@KNmeh7 why do you always come in here with an asshole attitude? Its an online sale. If itâs not for you, you can fuck off
@CruelMelody Because it is a sale. They are selling. They do not need (maybe they do) my money, but they want. So⊠You best sell it! Sorry, I donât kowtow to every offer like a shill.
I wasnât a labrat, but I give these wines 99 out of 100. Is that better?
@KNmeh7 but whyâd it lose a point??
@CruelMelody
Only some crazy hybrid of Wellington, Scott Harvey, Winesmith, and Pedroncelli could achieve a perfect 100 (or possibly even magically surpass it).
@CruelMelody @KNmeh7 For sub-anodyne attitude?
I donât have a watch, or a fax machine. I drive a Toyota Corona - and thanks for the laugh track
@CruelMelody @KNmeh7 @ZeppelinWinery corona! Ahh, lap of luxury. A man of influence. A dedicated follower of fashion?
@CruelMelody @KNmeh7 @msten
An oil stain on the driveway. (Toyota hadnât worked all the Kinks out.)
Meh, indeed. The witling troll was trying to bring down an Oxcart with a melted plastic spork of attitude.
2019 Black Zeppelin Zinfandel, Hill of Graceland
Sorry for the delay. Bike, then site visit, etc.
@kls_in_MD So⊠for $35 dollars this is⊠not okay. For MSRP? Bonkers.
I also wanted to add, although my first reaction was âSweetâ this is NOT a sweet wine. Very⊠medium. Not in a bad way, just medium. Iâm hoping to split a case AND get the Tannat.
@kls_in_MD Hoping we get TWO tannat so we can split fair
@kls_in_MD Thank you for the âsweetâ review.
@KNmeh7 at MSRP, not for me. At all. Splitting, to cellar, I can do it.
PANS! GLANDS! CRAYONS! AWESOME!
@smtcapecod
You donât have to get enough to fill a pallet, just get enough to fill your palate!
@chipgreen Clever. Yeah, guess I was going for max âqprâ there.
I have always liked his wines. Bought 2011 Red and Black Zepps on Woot when they did that thing. Just bought a case in the Houston/Katy/Richmond area if anyone is interested in taking some of it.
@RaidV92C Not this time; Iâm allergic to Zinfandel. Literally. Looks like a good set though overall.
@RaidV92C I ended up getting a 4 pack so Iâm out.
/giphy feeble-dingy-learning
@catcoland
How we all feel after the 5 minute editing window passes.
@bunnymasseuse we openned the tannat last night. Tasty big and bold! Love Stillman once in a while
Really kicking myself for not buying a case of this. Just had the Alicante over the weekend and itâs superb. Iâve been hoarding my stillman and itâs the first bottle Iâve had. Hope to see more soon!
@deadlyapp I told Stillman Iâd cover shipping from winery to warehouse for wine trade. Worth it!!
