@mrn1 the combination of producer direct and case logistics with the willingness for wineries to offer case discounts - truly makes this the best pricing infrastructure possible. iMHO
@clcaruthers@mrallen1@ponyo4@raccoon81 To be fair though, if I’d tasted that Pavi before handing it over it might have been a different story That stuff is delicious.
@raccoon81@mrallen1@IanMorr@SDL3 have all been outstanding and easy to coordinate with so far! LOL at the Pavi…I even mentioned the split I picked up from @IanMoor when I was getting another split from @racoon81 this weekend. My only mistake was not buying a case for myself Not making that mistake again anytime soon!
I’m one of the few long time wine wooters from our Houston group (@SDL3 was that I know of), and I have to say it’s much easier on Casemates to coordinate and find people to split with. I’m really, really enjoying this endeavor and our partners in our group so far! Extremely happy with WW’s replacement!
@clcaruthers@mrallen1@raccoon81@SDL3 I was on wine.woot from the early days too though took the last couple of years off before the final months of craziness.
@IanMorr@mrallen1@raccoon81@SDL3 Ya know…If only @Winedavid49 could work some magical powers and find a hidden stash for a Wellington Victory offer! Now that would be a great split to show everyone what they were missing out on I’d settle for an Iron Horse offer as well!!!
You can handle it however you want, but it would be useful to include the names of people you’ve had good splits with- that way if someone wanted to check the history of a person they could come here and just use ctrl-f to see.
@scott0210 I live in Cuyahoga Falls - a little closer to Canton than Cleveland. I have split with @mrn1 a few times and would be happy to be a go between for @scott0210 if that works out better for you. Just say the word.
Wish I could find some mates to split with, living in Utah - a no ship to state but I have a ship to location in southern Idaho I find myself buying some 3or4 packs if its something I really want with the occasional case (Twisted Oak - Scott Harvey) , would by more if i had a mate or 2 to split with. Sometimes when i look at the difference between a case or a 3/4 pack i just say no - not worth it to me. Current offer of the Harvest Moon is a perfect example, at 15 a bottle it’s not worth it to me - have lots of daily drinkers available however at 11.25 bottle I’m interested but not for a case.
DFW/North Texas checking in… We’ve had plenty of splits and no issues other than the time it was pouring rain (obviously wasn’t the split). We have a good group and will keep it up as long as @Winedavid49 / WCC team keeps finding us great deals!
@hey_zeus I was about to chime in. I have kept over 50 bottles off this site in i think 12 different splits of different arrangements… I have a sheet i keep track of my order and splits. I’ll tag everyone else later but I’ll say this. In all the splits I’ve done I’ve never had any issue. In fact the other, since I’ve had limited transportation options (take the train to work). Many others have come to meet me to trade orders or handoff. Hey_Zues was one of the first people I meet on this site and has been gracious enough to even open his house for a labrat review. JohnNelson has introduced me to a lot of Dallas local events I’m loving.
As mentioned. 5 orders of cases myself, 14 total between others. I have kept 53 bottles myself.
The others I have done deals with include the man himself @snapster, who brought the wine specially down “south” for me since I couldn’t get up to Casemates HQ. Others who have been wonderful to share with and meet include : @katherine@rainybank@johnnelson7333@iqueal@kapok6@bluebeatplate@tomasop@lseewoester@vrvallejo and our newly married man @bent80
Seattle has only had one meet up but it went well, and I think just about everyone that needed to be there was expect maybe one or two people. I know I got all the bottles I was supposed to and delivered all the ones I needed to.
We’ve found some folks in Western New York to share with, and it’s worked out very well so far. There have been a couple of minor communication breakdowns, but we have some new friends, and sooner or later we’ll find a way to get everyone together for a belated launch party. I really like the chance to take advantage of the case price savings. The best part was when I responded to an inquiry and wound up splitting a case of Gruet with a guy who turned out to be somebody I’ve known for around 20 years, used to be colleagues.
Glad to see that it’s working for most people. And like many new communities, there will likely be a burn-in/shake-out period which can be navigated best with some good wine.
NJ is a tough nut to crack. It’s consistently listed top 10 in wine consumption, but the NJ thread is a wine desert these days. This is probably due to somewhat limited offerings on Casemates (today’s offer being a prime example). I never quite understood why NJ permits are so less common. The fees didn’t seem terribly high.
That being said, I had a successful split with @kelaiem a couple of months back. And looking forward to a meetup with @seeds (and @kelaiem) soon!
@Arametha
I’ve been pretty quiet lately, but it’s because I’m out of room! I’m getting a new fridge sometime in the next week, though, so getting organized should hopefully lead to increased consumption/more free space. Ive only split with you so far. I need to see if coworkers are interested again.
@drhellknow Offered to split a case in Columbus. I met him at his workplace, and he was outside seconds after I called. He was splitting it with another user, so I hope that went well.
At the Scott Harvey dinner @ddeuddeg offered to (casemates)leg some Gruet from NY to OH if we could arrange it.
Just completed a great exchange with @TechnoViking over the weekend.
Seems he also liked the Bailiwick PN I threw in as an extra…
Still have a few others to meet up with to deliver some spoils.
VERY interested in this feedback. Great idea!
All mine have gone fine thus far. The Socal group has been doing it for years so we all know the drill. Except that time Lost drank my order.
@CorTot Yeah, I haven’t yet split with anybody I didn’t know from the old world. In part that’s because I’m trying not to buy!
I’ve done quite a few splits so far, and all have worked well. I hope they continue to work well, 'cause I sure like the case savings!
@mrn1 the combination of producer direct and case logistics with the willingness for wineries to offer case discounts - truly makes this the best pricing infrastructure possible. iMHO
So far all is good in our West Houston group that I have been a part of. Will gladly swap with them again.
And we are almost all new to casemates, not on the previous wine site so learning together.
@raccoon81 woohoo!!
So far have had success with @mrallen1 @ianmorr @clcaruthers and @ponyo4
@clcaruthers @mrallen1 @ponyo4 @raccoon81 To be fair though, if I’d tasted that Pavi before handing it over it might have been a different story That stuff is delicious.
@clcaruthers @IanMorr @mrallen1 @ponyo4 No kidding!!! Won’t be looking for a split next time!
@clcaruthers @IanMorr @ponyo4 @raccoon81 A++++++ would split again but honestly we have plenty of wine right now
@clcaruthers @IanMorr @mrallen1 @ponyo4 We’re just going to get an additional wine case. Problem solved!
@raccoon81 @mrallen1 @IanMorr @SDL3 have all been outstanding and easy to coordinate with so far! I have had about 6 meetups all have gone well. Only one repeat trader. My area seems to be dry, or hoarders
jchasma and marla25 (most active), vinoveritas, axewelder, canneddirt,
@jml326 +1 to this statement. I’ve only met up with @jml326 and @jchasma, but both have been great!
@CorTot @mrn1 @raccoon81 @jml326

@Seeds I think her reply captures most of whom our Houston group has split with
@Seeds All of these nice peeps here in NE OH have held true to their promise and split cases with no problemo…@Boatman72 @docjavadude@HopHeadB @mehnyblooms @mrn1 @pjmartin @scott0210 @Xena67@chipgreen Hopefully many more splits…and maybe other get togethers to come!
@docjavadude @mehnyblooms @mrn1 @pjmartin @Seeds @Xena67 @chipgreen @Boatman72 I’m kind of just a wee bit too long of drive from you all else I’d be splitting more I think. The Stillman leftover 3 pack was tempting
@scott0210 In what part of this fine country do you live?
@mrn1 Canton, Oh. I split some of the Kale with David’s case. Will be picking it up in Wooster this Friday. You’re going too aren’t you?
@scott0210 I live in Cuyahoga Falls - a little closer to Canton than Cleveland. I have split with @mrn1 a few times and would be happy to be a go between for @scott0210 if that works out better for you. Just say the word.

@bent80 @iqueal @johnnelson7333 @kapok6 @katherine @LSeewoester @MSUMike @rainybank @snapster @Tomasop @vrvallejo Agreed! We have a great group & will keep doing splits and/or hoard… Cheers to North Texas casemates!
See case. Buy case. Drink case. No need to share. What’s wrong with you people?

Des Moines group has been great. Split cases with a couple different folks and they’ve been very reliable
@Arametha

@Arametha @mtb002 love the coworkers idea!
I’ve been involved with several splits (with an upcoming for the Winesmith Cab Franc) in the western Chicago suburbs. All have gone very well.
Very interested to see how this goes. North Los Angeles County here.
@drhellknow Offered to split a case in Columbus. I met him at his workplace, and he was outside seconds after I called. He was splitting it with another user, so I hope that went well.

Very smooth split today with @seeds. Thanks for making the long drive down. Looking forward to trying the Kendric!
@hscottk Thanks for meeting me- sorry I was a little late
Just completed a great exchange with @TechnoViking over the weekend.
