Thanks for noticing. We are good. What’s happening is a long awaited re-launch that puts woot as the seller. when woot was switched from from wine to gourmet, for expediency the “winery as seller” mechanism shifted to WCC as the seller. we know that was not going to be forever. the new launch will have an optics change (to grocery and household) and the seller will be woot. HOWEVER, we are very much behind the scenes and most of the products will be sourced and managed by WCC.
And btw, we are VERY busy as woot wants even more deals to present on a weekly basis.
Official re-launch is week of 7/20. expect some killer daily deals that week.
very much alive and kicking thank you very much.
@Winedavid49 Cool, thanks for the insight. You should send a preview to your biggest fans over here on CM
I’m ready for a killer deal on Creminelli or equivalent now that we’re out of salami again.
And while we’re both here, what’s the deal with Huntspoint Meat? The prices are outrageously expensive and the meat doesn’t look all that exceptional.
@klezman and selling like hotcakes. the meat is very good. funny part is that for phase I of grocery, no perishables. but salami ok!
@klezman @Winedavid49
Don’t offhand recall the name, but that new brand salumi you had up was pretty damn tasty.
@klezman @rjquillin Salumi Chicago. yea, it’s a new favorite. more to come.
@klezman @rjquillin @Winedavid49
I need to look for that locally…give it a test run.
@rjquillin @Winedavid49 yeah, as good as Creminelli?
@klezman @rjquillin better plead the 5th on that one
@klezman @rjquillin @Winedavid49 Is Chicago the one that’s uncured? Kind of a different animal, so to speak.
@klezman @Winedavid49 I guess there is a sucker born every minute. I am sure it is very good, but for the prices they charge it should actually be USDA graded, dry aged, etc. They make up rating scales and it seems like the biggest joke.
Maybe I am blessed being in the MidWest (although Flannery Beef lovers would scoff) but the prices are absolutely insane for a company that makes up stuff for marketing.
But, hey, if it keeps you afloat, keep on keeping on. I just find it ludicrous.
While we’re here as well…
How are we to know which offers are yours (for support) and which ones are just Bezos dumping plonk (to avoid)?
When I looked earlier, yesterday, the new tab/store wasn’t even there; must have had some glitches rolling it out.
@rjquillin they rolled it out piecemeal. When I first looked there was no replacement tab which is why I thought the while thing was gone.
@klezman @rjquillin for now, safe to say we are doing the “dailies” and probably all of the woot plusses. alot of the category skus are theirs. it’s a brave new world. we’ll see…
@klezman @Winedavid49
by ‘woot plus’ would those generally be the items included in the “Shop Events in Grocery & Household” blocks under the daily, the stuff good for a week?
@klezman @rjquillin @Winedavid49
There’s more info here, though, the last FAQ is disappointing.
I would have liked the grocery bags, but I’ll just sit here blaming the whole Whole Foods thing. (After all, they already messed up Wine.Woot.)
@PastaDrop
they fekked up whole foods too
So does that mean you can sell non booze items over here now? or ???
cause i’d much rather buy it from you here than there
Today I received my case of Iron Horse Chardonnay from Wine Country Connect, but I couldn’t figure out why UPS said I was getting two packages from WCC, until I opened the second box…which was some Snapdragon curry bowls I ordered from Woot. What a coinkadink!
