UPS Problems
1Are other people having trouble with UPS constantly changing delivery windows? I’ll get an email telling me "your package will be delivered tomorrow between X-o’clock and Y-o’clock. This should be helpful since you need to be home to sign. However, more often than not the next day gives a completely different time window. Sometimes it’s just “before 7:00 PM”. That’s not very helpful. Other times I’ll get an email about it being delivered today and then it doesn’t come and that evening I get another email telling me it’s coming tomorrow. These notices are useless. It wouldn’t be so bad if I didn’t ave to sign for it. When I get delivery times from Fed Ex they almost always come during their initial time window.

So, here I wait for my delivery. Thursday’s email from UPS said it would be delivered between 11:30 and 1:30 on Friday. This mornings ( Saturday) email said today between 2:00 and 6:00 PM. When I go to the tracking site it says before 7:00 PM. In other words, just wait around, it’ll come sometime!
Perhaps all the wine that isn’t being delivered and so is returned to CM will be repackaged into mystery cases to be re-sold for dimes on the dollar. If those mystery cases get delivered.
I think which Carrier is better or worse than others is regional. UPS here is awesome on the other hand fedex blows goats

I never have to sign for wine ever since I started giving a bottle to my driver every time I’m HOME when it gets delivered. : ). Whatever it is, I open it up in front of him and hand him a bottle.
Until it’s on the truck those times are completely useless. Even once it’s on the truck they can turn out to be useless.

@klezman they should take some notes from Amazon. Their delivery windows are generally good.
I bit the bullet and paid for the ability to redirect UPS packages to a UPS store. It’s annoying as FedEx offers this service for free… And the UPS Store workers always seem like I am an inconvenience when I pick something up (even if it isn’t wine)… Our driver is really nice though, we just aren’t always home during the window.
Worth the few bucks to have it held at location.
I, too, out of principle refused to pay the 20 bucks. Then I realized that since time is money, the outlay will pay for itself quickly. No more waiting all day, inconveniencing myself. My advise, bite the bullet. You’ll be happier.
